After the fight with the Dioskilos, if you could call it that, I left the burning part of the forest and went to the part that was not affected by the fire.
I watched my hand as I walked, still trying to understand what happened to my body.
"Okay, I fell into a lake, passed out, woke up in a hole where the lake used to be, and discovered I turned into a girl. What on earth happened to me?"
I stopped and looked around the forest in astonishment; everything was so clear in my vision, and even things that were far were close to me.
"My eyesight is amazing, and I can see and hear everything from a distance. My strength is also ridiculous, and I can feel a surge of power from within me that is threatening to burst out."
I was excited about the changes I felt in my body. It was like I had become strong after waking up. I wanted to test out what I can do, but one thing still weighed on my mind.
"I have to return to the village and give everyone a burial. I have that obligation for being the only one who survived."
I turned around and began to run at the place I believed I entered the forest from. It still shocked me to see everything become a blur due to how fast I have gotten.
Before I knew it, I was already standing at the place where the destroyed wagon that transported me from my village was.
"The village should be this way, then."
I turned to the road where the wagon came from and ran again. If people were to see me now, I would have been very embarrassed because I was practically running while naked. That's right, even during the time I fought that Dioskilos, I did it in my birthday suit.
Moving on, in only a matter of minutes, I arrived at the entrance to my village. This is a place that took a full month to arrive at with a horse carriage. I arrived there in only a matter of minutes, and I still felt that I was not even close to going full speed.
This upgrade in power still shocks me when I see it. I entered the village and looked at all the corpses that were burnt to ash in sadness. I walked around and saw the burnt buildings, the dead bodies, and everything that has been destroyed.
Even though I have no happy memories of this village due to how they treated me, I still felt sad seeing it destroyed like this. I walked to the road of my home and approached the dead corpse of my mom that seemed to be decaying.
I gently lifted her body, not minding the smell, and cried bitterly on her body.
"If only I was this strong then, you would not have been killed. I couldn't save you, Mom."
I cried like this for some time before I steeled myself and stood up while carrying my mom's dead body. I moved to the back of our house and placed her body gently on the ground.
Then I went and picked up a shovel and began to dig the ground.
After I was done, I gently lifted my mom's dead body and placed it in the hole I dug before closing it with sand. I bowed my head to her grave before leaving and entering the house.
My goal for coming here was to bury my mom and to find two books that will help me in my house. I moved to the bookshelf of my house and picked out the two books I need.
The first one was the Adventurers Guidebook, and the other one was the Guide to Magic.
I didn't pay much attention to the magic book before because I couldn't use magic, but I was curious now to see if I have magic. I kept the two books on the table and left to bury the rest of the villagers.
It took me four hours to bury all the villagers before I returned to my house. By the time I returned, it was already evening.
I entered my house and sat down on a chair before opening the magic book. I read it and memorized it. It might also be due to my new powers, but I was able to memorize everything I read just by reading it once.
When I finally closed the book, it was already nighttime. I looked around the house for the last time since I planned to leave soon.
After I stood up and grabbed the Guide to Magic book and the Adventurers Guidebook, a space portal opened up in front of me, and I put the book inside it.
Dimensional Storage, a spell I learned just now after reading that Guide to Magic book. Magic, from what I read, can do anything as long as the user can have a clear image of what they want in their head. Depending on the type and range of the spell, will depend on the amount of mana the user will consume.
Mana is found in all living creatures, but only a few people are able to channel their mana into spells. Those who can are known as magicians, while those who can't are considered ordinary. Each individual has a mana capacity inside their body, and the size of the mana capacity will determine how powerful the magician will be.
Normally in stories she had read before, the type of magic a person can use is based on their affinity such as fire, water, wind, earth, lightning, light and darkness. But from what I read in the guild to magic, it is not so.
Anyone who can channel magic into spells can use any type of magic there want regardless of the affinity of the spell. The only requirement is that one must have a clear visualisation of the type of spell they want to cast and one must have the mana capacity to be able to cast such spell.
The spells are classified into grades which are Normal spells, Intermediary spells, Advanced spells and God level spells. Normal spells are ordinary spells which every magician can use ranging from fire ball, water ball and so on.
Intermediary spell are spells that affect a large area like wind storm blizzard. Advanced spell are those spells that touches upon the laws of the world like flight spell, gravity spell, healing spell etc. And God level spell are those spells that can affect an entire continent when released.
Magicians who can use Intermediary spells are considered very strong and a few in number. Those who can use advanced spell are the top forces of every kingdom and are said to be unrivaled by anyone except those on their level. Those who can use god level spell are the guardians of a race and are considered myths that only the top powers of a kingdom are aware about.
Though, all this is determined by the mana capacity a person might has. Take for instance, if a talented genius can visualise spells under Intermediary level and he/she only has the mana capacity for Normal spells, the person no matter what he does can never cast Intermediary spells, not to mention advanced or god level spells.
So even though magicians can use all spells they can imagine, if their mana capacity is small, then the spells they can use will be limited. That is why most magicians use the Normal spells like water, earth, fire, wind, lightning because they don't consume too much mana.
Intermediary spells like ice storm, lava rain and so on are spells only those considered geniuses can use. Advanced spells like creation magic, flight magic, time magic, space magic are a different story and only the best magicians have the mana capacity to use them.
Like this dimensional storage I just used, it will require an overwhelmingly amount of mana from the user, which is why only those on A rank and S rank who are magicians can use it. This spell requires the user to create a personal dimension which is only accessible by the user. This is like creating a mini-world which only the user can access. Which is why the amount of mana required is overwhelming.
Even though I just used it, it didn't feel like my mana was depleted at all. Guess my mana is absurd just like my entire body.
I walked to the door to leave the house before I stopped and looked at my body.
"Oh right! I am still naked. Can't keep walking around without clothes now, can I?"
I raised my hand and concentrated my mana.
"Creation..."
My body glowed after I invoked the spell of creation. This spell allows magicians to create anything that is non-living depending on the user's mana.
After the light died down, I was wearing a dark gothic lolita outfit with leggings, and my dark silver hair was up in twin tails with two black ribbons.
"Now I'm cuter than usual. Time to go back to that forest to train. I have to know the limit of my new powers before going to join the adventurers guild."
I walked out of my former home and left the village at night without looking back. This will be the beginning of my new life's adventure.
