Seeing the Dioskilos jump out like that shocked me, but I was quick enough to roll out of the way before it landed on me.
The Dioskilos landed at the spot where I was standing before and turned to me, who was on the ground. The ground where it landed melted due to the heat of its flames.
I immediately stood up and prepared myself to run with all my might.
The Dioskilos, sensing my intention, opened the mouths of both of its heads and spat out a massive fireball that covered the size of a tall tree at me.
I didn't even look back at the fireball as I turned and ran with all my might—or at least that is what I wanted to do before this bizarre scene occurred.
As I took one step to run, I suddenly found myself crashing through several trees in the forest until I forced myself to stop.
I turned around and saw that more than ten trees had been knocked down by my body. The funny thing is that I didn't feel a thing. To make it worse, I had no idea how I dashed through all these trees while just taking a single step in hopes of running away from the Dioskilos.
I looked at the Dioskilos and saw that even it was looking at me in confusion about how I ran that fast in the blink of an eye.
It shook its head in a way to clear its confusion before it dashed at me with its full speed while opening the mouths of both of its heads ready to bite me.
I looked at the Dioskilos approaching me in confusion. It was clearly running towards me with its full speed, but...
"Why is it so slow?"
The Dioskilos, from what I read in adventurers' books back in the village, is said to be many times faster than a shot arrow that has been enhanced by magic from skilled archers. This is also the reason why it was able to easily run up to Kibaou and eat his head before he noticed what happened.
This creature is said to be one of the fastest monsters in existence under B rank monsters, and its speed is said to break the sound barrier when it runs. The only monsters that are said to be faster than it are A rank monsters and above monsters like A+ monsters like the Lightning Eagle.
Yet, the Dioskilos approaching me was so slow that I even had the urge to sit down and wait for it to approach me before moving away from its way.
Due to the Dioskilos being incredibly slow for some reason, I easily moved out of its way, and it crashed into the tree behind where I used to stand.
The Dioskilos shook both of its heads and glared at me with anger.
"Yep, I think I made it mad."
Both heads of the Dioskilos began to spit fireballs at me in quick succession, but for some reason, those fireballs were slow as well.
Because of this, I began to move out of their way with ease due to them being as slow as a snail to me. No, they are even slower than a snail from my perspective.
Both heads of the Dioskilos were looking at me with a shocked look because, in their perspective, I was disappearing and appearing at different parts of the forest at a speed that can even be mistaken as teleportation.
Though I had no way of knowing this because I was just moving out of the way from some fireballs that were too slow to be described. But for some reason, the trees in the forest would break whenever I moved, and the ground of the entire forest would vibrate each time I took a step.
The Dioskilos must have realized that it was getting nowhere if it sticks to fireballs because it stopped and began to release a massive heat from its body. I said heat because I saw all the trees around us and even those way behind us began to burn, and the ground started turning red.
I panicked at first before I realized that I felt absolutely nothing from the heat. If not for the fact that the trees around me were burning, I would have suspected that it was some kind of trick because I felt nothing even though I was the one closest to the Dioskilos.
As I was wondering what to do, the Dioskilos raised both of its heads up and roared. Following its roar, several magical circles appeared in the sky above our location in the forest, and the magic circles all began to rain down fireballs that were the size of raindrops, but their sheer number were impossible to count.
A single drop of this spell is no problem even for ordinary humans, but when their number exceeds billions, not even a powerful B rank adventurer can take them on without deploying a barrier. This is why the Dioskilos is said to require up to three B rank adventurers before it is brought down.
As I watched the spell raining on me and the entire forest, I began to sink into despair because there was no place for me to escape to. I tried to run, but before I could, the spell had already reached me and began to hit me and the entire forest, burning everything in the process.
I knew it was the end for me, so I closed my eyes, expecting pain, but like all the other times since I woke up, I felt nothing. I gently opened my eyes and saw that I was indeed being hit by those billions of fire rains, but I didn't even feel it. For some reason, they couldn't pierce or burn my skin.
Watching me was the Dioskilos, which looked in anticipation of seeing me burn. But it became confused when it saw me standing inside the hell of flames without so much as a scratch on me.
"Aaaaahhhhh!!!"
It roared and dashed at me again with both mouths opened wide. I was still distracted by the flames around me that I didn't notice the Dioskilos approaching me.
When I noticed it, it was already in front of me with the mouth of both heads opened wide to eat me.
"Kyaahhh!!! Get away from me!"
Screaming, I slapped the Dioskilos that was in front of me in a reflex kind of way. I wasn't expecting much from my slap, but what happened left me dumbfounded.
The Dioskilos was sent flying with great force and crashed into several trees before it finally crashed into a small hill, which broke and fell on top of its body. The shockwave from my slap blew out all the flames caused by the Dioskilos and destroyed several trees along with the ground around me.
I looked at what happened to the Dioskilos and my surroundings in shock before looking at my hand.
"I've been suspecting this ever since I woke up and discovered that I am a girl, but could it be that I have actually gotten strong!?"
That was a question I asked myself while looking at the dead Dioskilos buried in a pile of rocks.
