Today is the first day of school and I am in the 11th grade. My name is Olivia Hendrix. I am 17 years old. Currently, I have one brother. My brother, Johnny Hendrix, is my twin brother. Even though we are twins, I am technically the oldest since I was born five minutes earlier than him. We love having fun, helping others, doing homework, and trying new things. One thing that my twin brother and I don't like is the fact that our parents have been hiding secrets from us ever since we learned to talk.
My brother and I go to Beloupe High School in Beloupe, Coloni. Beloupe has many activities and sports that you can participate in. Debate Club, Beta Club, Chess Club, DECA Club, and many others. For sports, there is Fencing, Tennis, Golf, Racquetball, Cross Country, Football, Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, and many others. Everyone here can get involved in anything.
Since today is the first day back since the summer break, everyone will be given their new schedules for the semester. As soon as I walked in, I had to go through the office to get my new schedule. Once I had it, I began to look for my first class, English 3. On my new schedule, I had a total of eight classes. I walked down the hall towards where all the English classes were.
I arrived at my class, English 3. My teacher was Ms. Delany. Johnny was in there. Wherever Johnny was sitting, I was a seat beside him or in front of him. I decided that I would sit in front of him. I took off my backpack and sat down at the desk in front of Johnny. I looked at my watch and saw that it was five minutes until eight o'clock in the morning. The next thing that I know, I hear my name over the intercom.
"Can Miss Olivia Hendrix please come to the main office? Thank you," said Principal Suzie.
Ms. Delany, my English 3 teacher said, "Olivia, you can go to the main office. Make sure that you receive a note on the way back to class."
I said, "Yes Ms. Delany. I will make sure to get a note."
I got up out of my seat and walked out of the classroom. I was heading toward the main office when I heard the eight o'clock bell go off. I entered the main office at 8:02 am. I saw Principal Suzie talking to some parents. Then I saw a boy that I had never seen before. He was beautiful. He had fair skin, dirty blond curly hair, and was the same height as me. He was really quiet.
"Hello, Miss Olivia. Since I know that you are involved in many school activities, I would like you to show this new student around the school. Also, I want you to show him where his classes are that are on his schedule. Here is a copy of his schedule. He has a personal copy. His name is Jack Grayland," Principal Suzie said.
I looked at Jack Grayland. He was more beautiful than the boys in my class, not including my brother. My brother looked exactly like me except for his hair. Jack had a slender shape, dark curly brown hair, and looked like he worked out. I wanted to keep my eyes on him to study him more. But Principal Suzie spoke, interrupting my thoughts.
"It would be my pleasure to show Jack Grayland around," I said. "Can I also have a note for when I go back to class after showing Jack around?"
"I will go ahead and give both you and Jack a note for class, so you won't have to come back to the office and you can head to class after Jack is shown around the school," said Principal Suzie delighted.
"Thank you, Principal Suzie. We appreciate it," Jack and I said. Jack and I grabbed our notes for class from Principal Suzie, then we headed out of the office.
I showed Jack how to get into the main part of the school. First, I took him to see where the sports classes were.
"If you ever wanted to play a sport, this is where you would do it," I told Jack.
"What if I wanted to join any clubs that Beloupe has, how would I do it?" Jack asked.
"Well, to join a club you would have to listen to the announcements after the eight o'clock bell of when that club is meeting. For today, the Book Club is meeting at 3:15 this afternoon and the Debate Club is meeting at 4:15 this afternoon. You can also look at the flyers that are posted in the hallways," I responded.
After that, Jack didn't ask me any more questions. I showed him the library, cafeteria, and the different classes. The next thing that I had to do was to show him where the classes on his schedule were. I looked at his schedule and noticed that we have the same classes at the same time. After showing him around to his classes, he didn't seem upset. He was smiling.
"So you know my name, Jack Grayland, but what is your name?" Jack asked.
"My name is Olivia Hendrix," I said. "So I guess that you're in the same grade as me right?"
"Yes. I transferred here to Beloupe High School because I wanted to be able to do more and be involved in many clubs and sports. My old school only had like two different sports and clubs. It is so much better here though," Jack said.
"Well, I am glad that you like it so far. Are you ready to head to your first class?" I asked.
"I am ready," Jack replied.
Jack and I walked back to where the English classes were. When we reached English 3, I had to knock on the door since it was locked. Ms. Delany stopped teaching and came to open the door. When the door opened, I gave Ms. Delany the note.
"Hello, Miss Olivia. I see that we have a new student this year," Ms. Delany said.
Jack and I walked in English 3. I went to sit at my desk. I noticed that the whole class was staring at him, including my twin brother.
"My students, I would like to have your attention. I would like to introduce a new student to our class this year. This is Jack Grayland. Since there is a seat left, Jack I would like you to sit by Olivia Hendrix," Ms. Delany said.
Jack made his way toward me on my right to sit in the empty seat next to me. He took off his backpack and sat down. He looked at me and smiled. That was the second time I had seen him smiling today.
"I know it has been a long summer, but I want to do a fun pop quiz for this week. Next week, we will start on literature and dealing with Shakespeare. Now, I want everyone to take out their phones because we are playing a fun Kahoot. Now, you can enter the code so you can play. Since everyone is in, let the game begin," Ms. Delany said.
I didn't know what to expect. I thought one of my classmates would win, but I saw the unexpected. Jack managed to beat everyone including me. I always had gotten first place every year, but this year was different. It was my first loss in the past eleven years.
"Congratulations, Jack. You managed to get your first win on your first day of school," Ms.Delany said.
As soon as we finished the game, the bell rang for us to go to our next class. I knew who was going to be in the rest of my classes. The new student, Jack.
From the moment that I laid my eyes on him, I knew that nothing that I ever knew would ever be the same again.
