My name is Jack Grayland. I am new to Beloupe High School. I transferred from my old school for a couple of reasons. 1. I wanted to be able to be involved my more clubs and sports. 2. I wanted to fall in love with a girl who loves me for who I am. 3. I am hiding a secret. Whenever someone mentions that they have a secret, usually it is shared among your friends, maybe your family. For me, it's different. The secret I am hiding is something I don't take lightly. It's a matter of national security. If I were ever to reveal that secret to anyone that I loved, I would be putting them in danger.
On the first day of school, I met this girl and her name is Olivia Hendrix. She showed me around the school and showed me where my classes were. After going through all of my classes, I realized that we shared the same classes. I was really happy that I could have someone to talk to that I had already met, especially since I sit next to her in every class.
Olivia is the type of girl that I am looking for. She is smart, beautiful, kind, and amazing. I think that I have a crush on her. I thought about giving her a note in class since the whole class is aloud to do so. I want to ask her out, but I am afraid that she will say no.
I have always believed that everyone believes in something on way or the other. I have always believed that there is always someone who believes in fighting for justice. I was one of those people. I believe that people shouldn't suffer from injustice someone should be able to defend them.
I am different from most people. When I was born, my parents wished that I would have superpowers to defend the universe. With a mask, I could become someone else entirely. A superhero in the universe. One day, when I was five years old, I was in the front yard raking up the leaves, when I saw an airplane falling from the sky. I thought to myself I wish that I could have superpowers and turn into a superhero. Little did I know, my wish would come true within a matter of twelve years.
I have secretly been the Guardian of Beloupe for two years now. I was first recruited when I was fifteen years old. I was at my house when two men I didn't know came to the door. They asked that I come with them right away. I went with them, not knowing what was going to happen. I texted my mom and told her that I was going to be out for a couple of hours. Then, I got in the backseat of the black car.
The two men drove me to a black building. They told me to head inside and take a seat. After a moment, I saw different people come from the back of the building.
"Hi. My name is Charlotte Rivet and I am in need of your assistance, " said the tall woman dressed in black.
"What exactly do you want with me? Do my parents know that you have me here? What is this place? Where am I? I demand to have all answers to my questions this instant, " I said angrily.
"Your parents have never told you have they?" Charlotte Rivet asked.
"What are you talking about? My parents don't keep secrets from me," I said wondering curiously.
"So, you're telling me that your parents have told you that you were born with superpowers," Charlotte said.
At that very moment, there was no way that I wanted to trust this woman. This is the first time that I have met her and I don't believe what she says. My parents have always told me everything, right?
"I don't believe you. My parents would never have kept something from me all these years about me. You don't know anything about me," I said angrily.
"I have known your parents since we were children. We grew up together. Your father is my brother, which makes me your aunt, whether you like it or not. Our families have kept this secret of having superpowers for generations. Your mother was our next door neighbor and your father began to fall in love with your mother when we reached our high school years. After your mother had you, she vowed to keep the secret from you because she was also something special. You, Jack, are a miracle child. Your parents were told that they couldn't have children, but they wanted to try. Your parents tried for two years and then they gave up. Then one day, your mother began to feel sick. She said that it had been going on for three months when she was feeling sick. Come to find out, she was going to have you, but the doctors told her to use extreme caution. Then, you came miraculously into the world." said Charlotte.
"Ok. That's a lot of information my brain is trying to process, but how can I believe you? I can't believe anything that you are saying until you prove yourself. It will take a lot more than showing off whatever powers that you have," I said adamantly.
At that very moment, I didn't trust Charlotte Rivet. I don't believe the fact that she is my aunt, my father's sister, and my mother's next-door neighbor. I wanted physical evidence of the story to see if I could trust her or not. I have never believed people based on what someone says to me. I always get the physical evidence that way whoever is telling me the story can be proved by actual facts and sometimes witnesses who see what happened.
While I was thinking, I decided to take the time to look at my surroundings. I am sitting in a hard and sturdy blue chair in the middle of the room. My hands and feet are bound separately on the sides of the chair with some zip ties. The room that I am in is about the size of two family rooms put together. The color on the walls is a baby blue with a white trim. The Mona Lisa painting is the size of a 54" flat-screen TV on the opposite wall of where this chair is. I wanted to figure out how I was going to escape this place. At that moment I decided that I couldn't believe my parents anymore since they kept this big secret from me since I was born. I wanted to talk to Olivia, but I didn't even know where she was.
"I know that you may have noticed that there have been strange things going on since you were born. The criminals of Beloupe have been getting bolder. They have been stealing cars, robbing banks, and stealing other items around the city. This has increased by 210% since you were born. It seems like they are up to no good, doing all of this increased crime within the last 15 years," said Charlotte Rivet worried.
"What does this have to do with me being born? Many people are born every day, so there's no way it has anything to do with me," I said angrily.
"When you were born your powers had to be sealed off because they were so immense. It was felt all through Beloupe, even in the prison cells. Your superpowers had released all the criminals in prison that day. You were just a baby not wanting to harm anyone. What happened that day was an accident. That's the reason that your parents didn't tell you that you had superpowers," Charlotte Rivet said, explaining.
When she said that, it triggered a memory of the day I was born, and what I saw was true. It was at that moment that I began to feel something different. I imagined that I was floating in the air right above the chair without my hands being bound by the chair. Then, I opened my eyes and saw that I was floating in the air. I was no longer bound to the chair with the zip ties. It seems like my superpowers can be used through my thoughts. I just wonder what kind of superpowers I have.
It was at that very moment that I began seeing many different ways to escape this place at once. It was like my brain was thinking at the speed of sound or faster. I decided to use one of them to escape. My plan worked and they couldn't catch me since I put an invisible box around them that I could only see.
"Reveal yourselves to the boy. He's still in disbelief about the truth," I heard Charlotte Rivet say to her assistants in black.
After her assistants removed their masks, I finally realized the truth. Charlotte was telling the truth about everything. My parents were her assistants. It was then that everything began to change as the truth was right in front of me. My blood was boiling because of it.
"Why did my parents think that it was a good idea to hide to truth from me? They could have explained it in a way that I would understand, instead of leaving me in the dark about who I am," I said furiously. "Why did I have to find out through your sister Dad, my Aunt Charlotte, the one you never told me about? Did you think that I couldn't handle the truth? Is that it? And Mom, you knew but still hid the truth from me. Did you also think that I would not be able to control my powers when I was born?"
"Your parents did what they thought was best for you. They didn't want you to be kidnapped by those who wanted your superpowers. Many different people were drawn to your superpowers. This is the reason why your parents were so hard on you. They were protecting you," Charlotte said calmly.
After Aunt Charlotte finished talking calmly to me, I began to feel very upset. I was mad at myself for yelling at my parents. Everything that they did was for me. I overreacted because I didn't know what to do. It was at that moment that I began crying.
"Jack, it's okay. Just let it out," Aunt Charlotte said while putting her arms around me to comfort me.
"I had no right to yell at Mom and Dad just because they didn't want the truth to hurt me. I just hope that they can forgive me for what happened, " I said crying.
"Jack, you're not wrong. We shouldn't have kept to truth from you and we're sorry for that. We forgive you for what happened earlier," Dad said explaining. "You're our son, our little miracle, and we didn't want you to feel like you can't be a normal kid. We want you to have a normal childhood."
"I forgive you guys too. I love you, Mom and Dad," I said after I had stopped crying.
"Son, we love you too," said Mom and Dad.
It was from that moment on, that my parents and Aunt Charlotte began to train me to be a superpower. This was how I became a secret superhero with rare superpowers. Out of all the superheroes, I became the youngest superhero because of my rare superpowers. Most superheroes have one to two superpowers, but I have many different superpowers. I would end up becoming the youngest Guardian in the world.
