"Ladies and Gentlemen, may I please have your attention. The Semi finals will start in half an hour. So stretch those limps and support the booths," the man with the mike announced with a broad smile.
When Bulla came back from the infirmary she didn't had a scratch on her body, nobody would be able to say that she'd lost a match merely moments before. "How do you feel?" Trunks asked his sister. Her answer was as expected, not only was she defeated in battle but Melody shattered her pride into smithereens. Making her wonder which one of her parents is the prideful one. To her surprise she made her way over towards her and sat down beside the young lady: "Hi, I'm Bulla," she introduced kindly.
The girl looked up slowly, like she's a battery operated android, whose power is almost out. "Nice to meet you, I'm Melody," the beautiful blonde said with a little smile. "I'm very grateful to you, thank you so much," Bulla expressed her gratitude. "It was the least that I could have done, after leaving you in that terrible state. Sorry for shattering your pride that was never my intension," the blonde apologized for her earlier actions.
Winning is Melody's main focus because her family needs the money. For now, however, that's her only priority; afterwards there are more then enough opportunities to make friends and maybe even fall in love if that's not overrated.
"We're all having a bite to eat. Would you like to join us? I could officially introduce you to the gang," she offered kindheartedly. "No thank you, perhaps another time if the offer still stands. I'm not that hungry," Melody smiled dearly as she answered. Bulla just shrugged it off and disappeared along with her friends.
The half hour breather quickly came to an end. "The first battle in the Semi-finals is about to unfold. Can our first two opponents please make their way onto the platform?" As the mysterious girl and Trunks made their way from the penthouse, Melody said: "Now don't you hold back on me, I'm much tougher then I appear to be." He nods his head in confirmation.
High up in the crowd, a conversation unfolds amongst the close friends. "This is going to be interesting," Goku told the others. Krillin sitting in the row before him just nods his head. "She could give him a run for his money," Yamcha said as he looked from over his shoulder to see what Goku's thoughts are on the matter. "No, you're wrong. She's going to obliterate him," Vegeta's statement came as a shock to them. Internally Goku knows that his friend's assumption is indeed correct.
They started off with kicks and punches, moving at equal speed. Trunks concentrated hard to dodge the blonde bombshell's attacks but in a deep concentrating state she saw an opening and took it.
A solid hit to his gut made him tumble backwards. Trunks lost his footing and fell with a loud bang onto the platform. The man with the mike was obligated to start the countdown. At a slow pace he made to his feet. Scrapes adorning his outer covering.
Not thinking it completely through he used an energy blast, because he's desperate at the moments, not wanting to go down by the hands of a young beautiful lady. The wave of energy was a direct hit. Thinking quickly on her feet, she swept it away with her hand, up in to the sky. Away from everybody. Eliminating the danger. Even his golden form was no match for her. Little by little she released her power. She jumped up into the sky, high enough to give of the illusion that she's flying and screamed at the top of her lungs: "ZANZABEE!!!" Through the palms of her hands she shoots a strange yet powerful energy wave. Yellow, red and blue, combines together in a spiraled form. It shoots downwards at an incredible speed. Her aim dead on.
"GET OUT OF THE WAY…!" Goku shouts from the crowd as he sprung up and out of his seat. "It's only enough energy to beat him, not kill him," Piccolo said as he placed a hand reassuringly upon Goku's shoulder.
They sat back down, listening how the countdown begin. "If it came into contact with anybody else in this arena, that move would have gotten her disqualified. What was she even thinking pulling a stunt like that?" Goku asked furiously. Vegeta snorted at his remark, "I can answer you that Kakarot, she's in it to win it but yes otherwise I will have to agree with you, her actions were rather foolish." Goku nodded.
"I don't think that she's aware of how reckless that little stunt could have been," Tien joined in the conversation. "Even so guys, you can't deny her potential. She just needs a little push in the right direction," Eighteen tries to come to the poor girl's defense. This, however, makes Goku think that perhaps he could help her like he'd helped Majuub way back when. Little to his knowledge, Vegeta too was thinking about taking her underneath his wings.
Melody knelt down beside Trunks after being crowned the winner. "Sorry, about that. I know that you're hurting right now, but I need you to stand up. Here, let me help you; you'll be okay," she said as she helped him to his feet. A grunt rumbled over his lips as the pain shot arrows though his body.
She support him with one arm slumped around his shoulders while her left hand crossed his heart.
Melody helped him into the penthouse, sat him down on a bench and informed his sister that he would be fine. He just needs to rest for a while. The attack drowned a lot of her energy. It was reckless and thus she knows! Anybody else and the damage would have been severe, if not deadly.
Her heart fell into her shoes as fear rose within her. Afraid that her idol may give her a mouthful, about her careless actions. In the final round Goten got lucky and defeated Majuub, but Goku doesn't seem to find it all that lucky. As the usual half hour breather was being announced, she stood up and made for the exit. If she wants to stand a sliver of a chance, she'd have to regenerate.
