If I don't get something to eat, then all my hard work would have been for nothing. Goten seems to be a lot tougher then he appears to be. He's candy to my eyes yet I didn't even know that Son Goku had two sons.
How many times hadn't his dad saved humanity and no extra credit ever goes to him for his bravery. That's why he's my idol. Because of him I am what I am today.
I took a bite out of a sandwich that I've purchased from a booth merely moments before. After searching for something that befits my wallet, seeing how everything is much too expensive. I wipe the remaining crumbs from my mouth with a clean tissue when Goku suddenly sat down in the open seat opposite mine.
"You're not from around here, are you?" He wasted no time and get straight to the point. "No," I whispered as I shook my head, while looking down at the table. This is like a dream came true but it isn't how I wanted to meet him. It's just as I feared my idol is angry with me. "I believe I need not to tell you how reckless your stunt was back there. If your aim was off by a centimeter you could have killed a civilian…"
I looked up into his dark eyes and apologized in a low tone, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt anybody- I swear!" I pleated for mercy. Seeing him looking at me like that hurts more then shattered pride. "What are you doing here? Who sent you?" Vegeta banged his open hands on the table, demanding an explanation.
"Nobody had sent me, Sir! May I add that I'm quit fond of you too? Thanks for helping him save the Earth against Buu way back when." Vegeta cleared his throat trying his upmost best to suppress a laugh and so I continued. "I actually entered with the hope to meet him (I pointed a finger towards Goku) and the money can provide for my family."
Vegeta failed to cover his amusement. "Oh boy, looks like you've got yourself a secret admirer Kakarot," Vegeta gave Goku a slight punch on his shoulder. "Oh God, n-no… it's nothing like that! I- I just look up to him. He's my idol," I said flustered. How do I explain this situation while my cheeks are aflame?
"Ladies and Gentlemen, may I please have your attention? The match that you've all been awaiting for is about to begin." I've never thought that I'd be so happy to here the announcer's annoying voice. It saved me from the embarrassment. I put two fingers against my forehead and gave them a little crooked smile, but before I could use my own version of instant transmission, Goku's last statement reached my senses: "What the hell? How did she…"
I reappeared next to Goten underneath the shed and told him the same thing that I've told his friend in the Semi-finals, how he's not to hold out on me. He promised me with an ear to ear smile that he wouldn't hold back on me.
"Who would be the winner of this year's tournament? Would it be Goten, son of Goku a previous world champion or would it be the lovely yet mysterious Melody?" We stood at opposite ends of the platform, losing ourselves in a little staring contest. That's how ordinary people would see it, however, it's much more then that. How do I approach him? I asked him not to hold back and his holding up to his reputation. His stance isn't lacking any confidence either. I drop my gaze and sprinted forward, there's no other way as to face him head on. This is surely going to be a challenge.
An hour or so into the battle and I can definitely feel the beating that he's been giving me. The audience stared at us, more at me then him, in anticipation. Both of us out of breath. I don't have enough energy left to use another Zanzabee wave and frankly Goku won't approve.
I have to think quickly on my feet or else I won't be the victor of the 30th Martial Arts Tournament. Like a light bulb spontaneously flared up, I bought both my hands up to flank my face and screamed, Solar Flare! "WHAT!?" I heard Piccolo screeched from the crowd in shock. I blinded Goten temporarily with a sudden flash of light and with my own Special Tiger Punch Attack I knocked him out cold and he didn't even see it coming.
"And the winner of the 30th M.A.T, by knockout, goes to none other then Melody!" The golden haired presenter screamed into the mike as he lifted my hand up into the air. I walked over to my fainted opponent and used my left-hand-over-heart motion to recover him as best as I could under the circumstances. I'm almost completely drained. Thankfully Trunks came to my aid when he saw me struggling and helped me out. I rewarded him with a smile when my eyes met his.
