Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 Heavy rain

As the rain started pouring down, the streets quickly emptied and shops began to close their doors. Lucas and kyra sought refuge under the shelter of a nearby shop.

"Phew! I had no idea it was going to rain today," Lucas muttered.

Within seconds, both Lucas and Kyra found themselves half-soaked as the heavy rain continued to fall. Kyra, noticing Lucas's dismayed expression, asked hopefully, "Do you think it will stop soon?"

"Nope! You see, once it starts raining here, it doesn't stop anytime soon," Lucas replied, pouting. "And let me tell you, it's not just any rain, it's so heavy that the river rises every single time it pours."

Kyra raised her eyebrows and inquired, her long hair feeling heavy against her wet skin. She pushed stray strands behind her ear and asked, "Is there no inn or any place we can take shelter?"

"Nope! There are no inns in the market. If we want to find shelter, we'll have to seek refuge with a neighboring tribe." Lucas explained.

"But we can't just wait here, can we? Look, the environment is already darkening," Kyra pointed out.

Indeed, the rain was so heavy that everything appeared foggy and dark.

"You're right. We should leave," Lucas agreed.

"Can't we stay in one of these shops?" Kyra suggested, noticing that they were already closed.

"These shops aren't built properly, and I'm afraid they might collapse under the weight of the rain and wind," Lucas replied.

"Are you sure? That's probably why everyone has already left with their goods," Kyra observed as she saw people leaving in groups, their belongings tied securely behind them.

"We don't have much of a choice but to face the heavy rain," Lucas sighed, shifting into his wolf form.

His fur was drenched, and Kyra sat on his back, gripping his neck tightly while holding onto the bag of clothes Lucas had brought for her. As Lucas turned to face her with his dilated eyes.'hold me tightly'

Seeing his gorgeous blue eyes, her heart started beating rapidly.

But she couldn't possibly be falling in love with Lucas, could she? She had only known him for a short time.

Sometimes, it takes years or more to fall in love, while other times, it only takes a few moments to truly understand someone and fall in love.

With the wind changing direction, the rain now directly hit their faces as they ran. Lucas became even more soaked, his fur heavy with water. Kyra's situation wasn't any better, as her white fur clothes clung to her body, thoroughly drenched.

Finally, they reached the bridge, but Lucas suddenly came to a halt.

"What's wrong?" Kyra asked, puzzled by his sudden stop. When she looked up, her eyes widened in shock— the wooden bridge, held together by ropes, had already snapped and was flying through the air in the direction of the rain.
