Kyra glanced at the bed, relieved to see that it was still clean and neat. She furrowed her brows and voiced her concern to Lucas, "Are you sure no one lives here? The sheets look so clean and new."
Lucas, climbing into the bed, reassured her, "I didn't detect any signs of a beast in here."
"Oh, okay," Kyra replied, climbing into bed and settling beside Lucas.
As the sound of rain filled the room, both of them looked at each other in silence.
"We're alone," Lucas finally broke the silence.
Kyra raised an eyebrow, curious. "So?"
"We should do something interesting," he continued, grinning.
"Like what?" Kyra asked, blushing. Was this wolf hinting at something?
"Like I can sing a romantic song for you," Lucas spoke, and Kyra's eyes widened.
"No way," Kyra shouted.
"Yes way... why not? I can sing nicely," he pouted.
"I mean, I'll sing some for you," Kyra corrected hurriedly.
"That sounds good! I would love to hear your voice," Lucas said, his eyes sparkling as he closed the distance between them.
Kyra cleared her throat, feeling Lucas's gaze on her. Her heart started pounding.
She had never felt this way about anyone before, not even her handsome male friends.
Her calm heart was stirred by this wolf's presence.
She gazed at Lucas and gently took his hands, noticing how much bigger and rougher they were compared to hers. She began to sing.
"I know that you love me
Darling, you don't have to say it
You know you can trust me
It's okay, it's complicated
Nervous, I trip over my words
You're so pretty, it hurts
Baby, I'm yours
Baby, I'm yours
Baby, I'm yours
I need something more, I'll pray to the Lord
That baby, I'm yours
We're getting closer, inches away
Lose composure, favorite mistake
Friendship's over, won't be the same (won't be the same)
Baby, I'm yours
Baby, I'm yours
Baby, I'm yours
I need something more, I'll pray to the Lord
That baby, I'm yours."
Hearing her lyrics, Lucas blushed. Her voice was melodious and soft, and the way she sang captivated him. He focused on her words, and his heart started beating rapidly, spiraling out of control.
As Kyra finished singing, her eyes widened when Lucas suddenly hovered on top of her, supporting his weight with his hands. He gazed at her intensely.
Kyra blushed, her cheeks turning red. She didn't know where to place her hands and lowered her eyes, overwhelmed with shyness. She had never been this close to someone of the opposite gender before.
With Lucas being so near, her toes curled up, and warmth spread from her cheeks to her neck. She felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach, and her heartbeat quickened. Her mind went blank.
He leaned in closer, his breath brushing against her face. Kyra closed her eyes.
Just a little bit closer...
Kyra began to feel lightheaded and bit her lip in anticipation.
"You..." he whispered, his gaze dropping to her lips as she nibbled on her pink petals.
"Lucas..." she murmured breathlessly.
