"Hey, where am I sleeping tonight?" Kyra asked as she saw Lucas coming back from the kitchen, having finished all the dishes. She offered to help, but he insisted on taking charge, leaving her stuck on the sofa with nothing to do.
"Of course, you'll be sharing my bed, little female," he spoke, rolling his eyes dramatically as he sat down beside her, casually draping his arm over her shoulder.
Kyra also noticed his small wooden cottage. It wasn't very big, but it was entirely made of wood. The cottage had balcony windows, a bathroom, and a kitchen. Interestingly, there was no water supply, but he had large tubes for storing water.
"Lucas, we can't sleep together," Kyra said firmly, expressing her desire to sleep alone like she always did. Sharing a bed wasn't an option, especially since she had secrets she needed to keep even from Lucas.
"Why?" Lucas's face fell upon hearing her response. He had already imagined what would happen tonight—him and Kyra sleeping together, and in the cold night, she would hug him. His fur was thicker, so he would naturally provide her with comfort. And Kyra would fall in love with him. After all, he only had one bed in his house.
"Kyra, you're a female, you shouldn't sleep alone," he said, hoping to convince her.
"Why?" she asked, furrowing her brows.
"Because there are many powerful beasts around here, and due to the low population of females, they might try to kidnap someone like you. You need to be careful and never be alone, even when sleeping," he explained. Although he wanted to scare her, he was also telling the truth.
"Then I'll fight back if anyone tries to kidnap me," Kyra declared.
Lucas looked at her with wide eyes.
Silence.
"Hahahaha," he burst into laughter. "Kyra, look at yourself. You're a delicate female, you can't fight against bulky beasts."
"I can really fight," Kyra said, her face serious.
"I believe you," Lucas said, though his expression clearly showed that he didn't.
"Fine," Kyra said.
Lucas turned off all the lights, which emitted a bright radiance similar to a bulb but different. He led her to his room. His bed was big and had more height, with a round shape. He had also placed many pillows on the bed. He used to hug them or sometimes tear them apart, but now that Kyra was here, he would hug her. Thinking about this, he smirked.
Kyra was feeling very sleepy, so when Lucas transformed into his wolf form, she nestled next to him. As soon as her head touched the soft pillow, she fell asleep within seconds.
Lucas gazed at the sleeping female, her head resting on the pillow. He tilted his furry head, blinking his ocean-blue eyes, before falling asleep next to her.
