Amy got a thin paintbrush and began tracing the chalk drawn floor with ink. This is quite difficult to do. When the manga showed this process, She admits that it is difficult but it didn't look that hard. The fact that Amy is doing a blood ritual on her second day in the academy will scare everyone to death.
She continued tracing the chalk with ink until she can no longer see any more chalk. She sat by a nearby stool and grabbed her book and opened it only to realize that the room is too dark to read. She looked up to the small window at the ceiling, already dark. Surprised to see the night sky, she got a nearby lantern and lit it and began reading her book again. She has to wait til the ink dries up completely. She literally wasted an entire bucket full of ink for this. Still wearing her undershirt, she looked at the dried blood on her arm. She will have to go back to the dorm with this. Everyone is probably worried sick, especially Viola even though she told her that she wishes to be left alone for a bit. She's gonna have to hide this until she gets back to her room. She then grabbed her clothes and put it on.
After waiting long enough, she puts everything away and walked to the center of the circle with the runes translating to Hecate in front of her.
After sharply exhaling, she opened her mouth and spoke an ancient language.
I call upon the speaker of knowledge, the maker of magic!
The outer lining of the circle glowed a cerulean blue.
to present my circle made in your name.
The inner circle then started glowing.
I offer my power to call upon your blessing.
The details of the circle glow and sparkled. For a moment she could see stars floating around her circle. Taking it as a sign, she gasped in excitement then the glow stopped and the circle is gone, ink, chalk and all.
"Oh... my... GOD!!!" she shrieked.
She then paced around in excitement and jumped up and down, cheering.
"It worked!!"
She then collapsed on the floor feeling extremely dizzy. The ritual took so much of her magic and left her a bit drained. After getting her bearings together, she got up on her two feet.
Deciding to try it out, she placed her hand down and the large blue circle appeared but it didn't do anything. That is because she hasn't given it any use yet. Then it disappeared. Then she tried thinking it and it reappeared.
"Wow," she said in amazement.
She then looked at her notebook from her pocket. What's next is to get a spatial malleability ink as well as practice using the useless magic circle by changing its size and creating checkpoints with it. She might need to create an incantation for it although she is hoping to create a non-verbal one.
She stared at the night sky, littered with stars. The night sky never looked more beautiful after today.
She got her satchel and book in one hand and grabbed the bucket filled with the stick and paintbrush with the other. Much to her surprise, she sees Selim. He is timidly waiting at the door.
"Um... have you eaten yet?" he asked.
This must have taken a lot of courage. He noticed the bucket and took it off her hand. "I'll put this away. You should get some food." he said with his head down and left to drop it off.
Amy was a bit stunned. Was he waiting this whole time?
She went to the dining hall to see that it is nearly empty and went to the table to get herself a plateful of iron rich food and some fruit juice. After sitting down, she grabbed her book and began eating while reading. She noticed Selim approach her with a slight smile.
"Thank you." Amy said, "Did you wait for me at the door?"
"Yes," he replied.
"How long?"
"Since six."
"Six?!" Amy says in surprise, "That means you were waiting all night."
"I am a bit concerned." he said. "What were you doing?"
Amy blushed in embarrassment. "I wanted to try a spell but I could barely get it to go off the way I wanted."
"Oh," he says in amazement.
"May I ask why you are waiting for me?"
"A bit curious. I wanted to ask why you want to be friends."
Amy stopped. She is almost done eating. She didn't realize how hungry she was until she saw her plate. "I guess it is because I want to make friends with other teams. Back home, I only had friends who are nobles but I would like to hear about other cultures and countries."
His expression and character began to brighten up. It's like he had a complete switch. "I am from Damat. I am the son of an aga of a military unit. Unlike my father, I am not skilled with the sword." he sheepishly scratched his neck. He says it with a more open tone. "I admit that I was scared I wouldn't make friends since arriving here."
Amy smiled at his change in character.
"By the way, that white hair guy that came in yelling yesterday, was that really the prince of this land?"
Amy nodded as she finished eating and left to put the plate away. She came back with pudding for dessert and handed him one.
"That is Prince Leon all right." She said. "It came as a shock to everyone as he is supposed to be in the royal academy, not here."
"How come?"
Amy shrugged as she ate her pudding. "Who knows? He might be out of here sooner than expected."
"There you are!!!"
Everyone in the dining room bolted in the direction of the noise. Sabina and Nathaniel ran towards her direction.
"Where on earth have you been?" Sabina says with a worried expression. "Everyone was worried."
"I left a note." Amy exasperated while eating her pudding. "Did you guys not see it?"
"We know that." Nathaniel says, "but 'you know who' is angry. He wanted to train but you weren't there. Violet is also quite anxious."
Amy sighed in irritation. Leon wants to train and is throwing a tantrum.
"How long?"
"Hours," Sabina replied.
She licked her spoon and puts the cup away as it floats. "Alright, I'll be there." she got up from her seat and stared at Selim. "We'll talk tomorrow." she smiled and head off to the door with her two friends following behind her.
