Chapter 12 - Black Fleet

"Over here! I found another survivor!" A soldier called out atop a pile of rubble. Others headed over to them to help move the rubble and get the person out. "Is that another person with you?" They said.

"No," The person who they were pulling out said. "We were trapped for several hours. They passed only about an hour ago."

The island of Gabuslma was dealing with the aftermath of Evelyn's escape, aided by Captain Goob and his first and second mates, and the strange explosion that took place as they pulled away from the port. Every fire went off with an explosion like they were all fuses to a bomb. Even fires they didn't set like simple candles in a home, lanterns on a street, and even bigger explosions for the fire's that Evelyn set on her way out.

"Another death has been accounted for Councilwomen Deedee," First General Roxanne addressed her. Everyone was outside dealing with the surprising disaster that happened the previous night.

"How many is that now?" Deedee said as she walked over to a board, they had brought outside to keep track of the damage of the island where the rest of the councilwomen were at.

"That would bring the current death toll to 97, so far," Roxanne replied.

"You hear that Brandia?" Deedee said.

"Yeah, I hear you," Brandia said as she erased the number 96 on the board and replaced it with 97."

"We found two more dead bodies over here!" They heard a soldier call out.

Brandia erased 97 and replaced it with 99.

"And had anyone seen Councilwoman Fawn? All this shit and she's nowhere to be seen helping out? Is she among the dead? We might be better off if she is. That young broad was too much of a goody two shoes for us on the council," Deedee exclaimed.

Roxanne sighed, "Councilwoman, I'm sorry to report a technician spotted Councilwoman Fawn left with the escapee and Captain Goob's crew willingly. Along with Technician Jackson."

"Son of an Orc," she whispered.

"Also one of the Orc's we had in captivity was killed," Roxanne whispered so only the councilwoman could hear, "And it looks like Technician Jackson was the one who killed it with one of the island defense tower harpoons. We did make sure to clean it up before people could see it."

 "And the others?" Deedee whispered.

"Luckily, still in their cages," She answered.

"FLEET!" A soldier who was patrolling the docks was screaming as he was running up to them. "A DARK FLEET JUST SHOWED UP ON THE HORIZON!"

"A fleet?" Roxanne said walking up to the soldier. "Tell me soldier. How big is this fleet?"

Catching his breath he managed to get out, "I don't know. Enough that it looked like a big solid black blob on the horizon!"

"GENERAL! GENERAL!" Another soldier was yelling, running up to her from the docks. "I found a ship parked at the dock. I think it came from the fleet! I think some of them may already be here!"

An explosion sounded from another part of the island. From the direction it came from, Roxanne's eyes were widened. "That came from where the Orc's are."

Walking into view from where the explosion came from was a six-foot man with shaggy red hair and what looked like high tier armor a technician would wear. Walking down her announced, "Sorry you all had to hear that ruckus after what you all just dealt with. Hopefully it didn't trigger some PTSD. I just needed to take care of some business over in that area of the island first."

"Who are you!" Roxanne demanded of the stranger.

"How dare you return here you foul man," Deedee said to the stranger.

"Oh I'm sorry," he said as she continued to walk until the direction of the docks were behind him," I used to be the island's top technician. I am Peter Fleur De Liqueur. Once master technician of Gabuslma. Now, well, I'm still a master technician."

"Has he always been this full of himself," Roxanne whispered to Deedee.

 "Yup," she responded.

"And currently master technician of the Bloodstone Pirates." He looks over his shoulder and with a smile says to the people, "I am pleased to introduce to you all The Queen of the Pirates, Captain Bloodstone herself."

Into view came a woman of pure beauty in the embodiment itself, along with an aura that seemed so powerful it sent shivers up the spine of everyone there. She stood about five feet six inches tall. Had luscious flowing scarlet red hair and bright ultramarine blue eyes that seemed like they glistened like stars in the night sky. She wore a Charcoal gray jacket and underneath she wore all black. Black shirt, black trousers, black boots.

She walks a few steps ahead of Peter to address the people. "As you heard from my technician here, I am Pirate Queen Captain Bloodstone of the Bloodstone Pirates. Notoriously known as my true name of Scarlet Black. My husband, Pirate King Captain Blackbeard, Blake Black, is back on my main vessel back at sea. I am here for a few matters that I hope you can assist me with."

Roxanne's expression was that of anger and the expression of the councilwomen were that of keeping a straight face on composure.

The Queen continued, "Cooperate and I'll leave in peace," she said studying the people. "19 years ago, I left someone here for you to take into your care. That person is my daughter."

 "Shit," Roxanne thought.

"I had studied your island a lot in my pregnancy from the shadows to see how the children lived here until I finally came to the conclusion, she would live a perfect childhood here until the day came where I could come to take her back with me."

 "Shit," All the councilwomen thought.

"Now, I gathered some peculiar information that just didn't sit right with me. That you actually did not have laws in place for orphans? And instead of making some, you decided to punish this child for not having parents, so you treated her like a slave and made her work day after day and year after year?"

The Pirate Queen quickly pulled out a dark blood red gun and shot Councilwomen Hora clean between the eyes and she collapsed to the ground. Brandia stares at the now dead Hora and slowly erased the 99 death toll count and replaced it with a 100.

"Sorry about that," The Queen lets out a slight laugh. "Talking about that information gets me so worked up that I need to let out my frustration somehow. Fucking grinds my gears. I'm a little gung-ho if you haven't noticed so I apologize if I kill someone randomly like a just did. She looked important and you know how us Pirates feel about authority," She turns her body orientation back to the people and says, "So I will only ask this once. Where is my daughter? Where is Evelyn Black?"

"Your daughter," Councilwoman Debra started talking, "Is the one who put us in this mess. That bitch needs to come back to this island and stand trial so she can be put to death properly in front of our public for everyone to see!"

Councilwoman Deedee, Brandia, and General Roxanne all scooted a few steps away from Councilwoman Debra's side.

 "She's dead," Roxanne thought.

The Pirate Queen was staring Debra down with displease in her eyes, "So, she caused this mess?" Debra nodded. The Queen looks around and with a smile says, "Not bad. Almost taking out an entire island in her first go around with her Siren powers? I have to say I'm impressed. What do you say Peter?"

"I don't think my bombs could have even scratched the surface of how destroyed this place looks," He laughs.

"Anyway," The queen says as she shoots Councilwomen Debra in the knee and as she goes down holding herself on her other knee. The Queen walks up to her, and councilwoman Debra looks up at her and could swear with the shadow over her, her eyes were glowing, "Did you just seriously call my daughter a fucking bitch? Where the fuck to you get off threatening my daughter's life? In front of the Pirate Queen of Neptune? Where the fuck along those lines did you think, things were going to go well for you?"

Debra didn't know but the Queen's gun was pointed underneath her chin and with the look of fear in the councilwoman's eyes, the Queen pulled the trigger and watch the life leave the woman's eyes and she smiled.

The Queen walks back near Peter and addressed the crowd again. "So, I'm getting a little tired now. You're all only recovering bodies but clearly the last two deaths you witnessed may be the worst things you'll see today."

"This woman. She's a monster…" Roxanne was sweating.

"She's gone," Councilwoman Deedee spoke up. "I don't want any trouble for me or the rest of the people here. Yes, she was the cause of this destruction but she left last night."

The Queen looks at Peter, and back at the councilwoman. Peter speaks up, "I saw the cemetery and my wife's plot. It makes me sick. But I did not see one for my son, Where is Jackson Fleur De Liqueur?"

"He left with the girl last night," Councilwoman Deedee answered, uneasy. "Wherever you find your daughter, Great Pirate Queen, you will find the boy."

"Now we're getting somewhere," The Queen smiled. "But first, who ordered Mrs. Fleur De Liqueur's death?"

Councilwoman Brandia started to sprint for the hills. And disappeared beyond some rubble.

The Queen turns to Councilwoman Deedee and with a smile says, "I'm happy it wasn't you." She turned to Peter and said, "Happy hunting. But don't take too long."

And with a smile, Peter leaves in the direction Brandia fled towards.

"So for more details," The Pirate Captain addressed the crowd again. "If you know or knew Everlyn all her life as she's been here, please come to the front of the crowd. I promise not to shoot anyone else. I just need some information." Delilah was the only one to come up. "Just one person? Wow, okay."

"The rest of the barmaids I worked with are dead. So, it's only me." Delilah sniffled.

The Queen reached out and put a hand and her shoulder and said, "I'm sorry for your loss. Now can you tell me anything?"

Delilah talked about all Evelyn's time when she helped in the pub and restaurant and how she took a liking the Captain Goob and his crew along with all the stories her told her growing up and how it impacted her to want to become a Pirate.

"I see," The Queen said. "So this Captain Goob, did he take Evelyn?"

"No," General Roxanne spoke up, "She left with them willingly. Along with the last Councilmember."

 "Curious," The Queen says.

"I didn't imagine this, but I don't find it interesting about Councilmember Fawn leaving with Captain Goob. They're actually cousins."

The Queen was laughing, "Oh my goodness that is rich. Don't worry, I believe you. But wow." Peter came sprinting back and the Queen said, "Peter, have you ever heard of a Captain Goob?"

"Uh, yeah. I think so. Isn't he the Captain of the Crystaline Pirates? They're the most notorious Sea Beast Hunters in the Southern seas. Never heard of them when we were in the North."

"May Neptune bless the dear souls of those brave enough to hunt sea beasts in the Northern Seas."

"Captain. If I may interrupt, we have a bit of a problem."

She looks at Peter and says, "Out with it already then."

"The navy from the Tarragon Empire just made land on the other side of the island," He said. Reading the expression on the Queen's face he said, "Yes. I got it. Flares." He walks away from the people, pulls out a gun and fires three bright yellow flares into the sky.

"Alright people, I hope you have a means of escape because if the Tarragon Empire Navy is here, your island is done for." The Queen says.

"What do you mean?" Roxanne exclaimed. "They're the government of this sea? Aren't they here to just fight you?"

The Queen pointed her gun at Roxanne is result of her outburst. And then she put her gun away and admitted, "Not quite. You were an independent nation, remember? Destruction this grand gives them free reign to come in and claim it as theirs." She turns her attention to Councilwoman Deedee and says, "Congratulations on your retirement." Addressing the crowd again, "So I would also like to add I don't plan on any of you joining my crew."

 "Um, Captain," Peter interrupted.

"Right," She said. "I said what I said and meant what I meant, all except for our two spies, Harry and Dennis." The two boys rushed over the Peters side. "Anyway, the Empire sending their navy isn't to be celebrated. They shoot to kill no matter where you're from. So, if you want to live, I suggest you leave, now."

"What about you, Pirate Queen?" Roxanne asked as the surviving citizen's started heading for the ships the island still had at the docks.

"Just a small little adjustment," The Queen said smiling. "We'll be removing Gabuslma from the map."
