Returning to the villa late at night, Iris was utterly exhausted. The pregnancy alone was enough to sap her strength, but coupled with a long flight and the immediate drama with Emily, she was at her limit.
Iris headed straight for the bedroom on the second floor where she had stayed before, but suddenly, a wave of weakness hit her, and she stumbled, nearly falling. Thankfully, Theo, with his quick reflexes, rushed to her side and steadied her.
"Let me carry you upstairs," Theo said, looking at Iris with eyes full of concern. Iris didn't say 'no' or resist. After all, if she were to fall down the stairs, she could lose the baby, and she wasn't about to risk her child over a quarrel with Theo.
