Iris and Daniel had been anxiously waiting for the appearance of the rescue team for a few hours , and the firewood in the cabin was nearly exhausted. All they could do was to reduce the amount of firewood they used, in an attempt to prolong the warmth it provided.
Iris rubbed her arms, trying to chase away the chill that had set in. As the firewood slowly diminished, the temperature in the room dropped, and Iris felt the cold creeping in once more. Daniel noticed Iris' actions, "Are you alright now?" he asked her.
Without stopping her arm-rubbing, Iris replied with a breath that turned white in the air, "It's getting colder and colder."
Daniel also felt the drop in temperature. Frowning, he stood up again and held up his phone, trying to search for a signal. Finally, in a corner of the room far from the fire, he saw a faint bar of signal on his phone.
"We've got a signal!" Daniel almost jumped with excitement.
