Popular belief said that demons feared the divine light, and in a sense that was true. But the truth was more subtle. The demons did not fear the light itself, but rather that their power would be greatly diminished when confronted with it.

This was because their source of power was on the "Dark" side, and the "Light" was like a torch that illuminated their weaknesses.

So it was common for them to be portrayed as creatures that could be easily exorcised, as if a simple ritual and prayer were enough to send them back to Hell. But the truth was far more complicated.

In the real world, the task of cleansing the beings of the Underworld fell to the Inquisitors. After all, they were the ones who had dedicated their lives to the Church of the Sun God and had ingested the Inquisitor's Pathway.
