Once started the old lady kept on going and gave Alan a detailed description about the Winden city and its the area surrounding it.
Alan asked many question, for which the old lady answered without hiding anything.
A strong desire to explore the outside world rose inside Alan's heart. He asked the old lady, " when can I explore the outside world like you and grandpa? I want to see the Winden city and all other places grandma."
The old lady smiled and replied to Alan , " we will leave this place once you are 10 years old and go to Winden city. I still have some gold, which me & your grandpa had accumulated over the years before coming to this place. It will be sufficient for us to buy a small home near the city and lead the life until we start earning."
She knew the amount she had will be more than enough for them to lead a happy and normal life for more than 10 years, by which time Alan will be around 20 and would have started to earn money. Besides she also had her parents inheritance, but she never thought of getting it back from their friend whom her husband and herself had given to more than 30 years ago."
Alan felt satisfied. He was already 7 now and can leave this place to explore the world in another 3 years.
He was thinking about this when he heard his grandmother speaking and came back to his sense again.
"Sorry grandma, could you repeat it again? " The old lady said, " I know you can survie the outside area of the forest and will be strong enough to hunt bigger animals and even wild beasts in a few years, it's a different story when it comes to living in a city with other people".
"Starting tomorrow I will teach you how to read and write. I will even teach you about trading and all other things that I know of, as it will be a very important if you want to go outside this area. Here we don't have to buy or sell something to lead our daily life. But outside we have to buy or sell various goods on a regular basis to lead a life. You have to learn the hierarchy and about social structure and status in the outside world my son."
"Wow !!! there are so many things i don't know about." Alan thought about this and started to feel the excitement which he usually feels when he was about to or in the process of learning something.
It was already evening by the time they ended their conversation and began to prepare for dinner.
Next day Alan got up at dawn and went out as usual to do this daily chores. But when he came back with the water containers, he was taken by surprise to see things that are infront of him which he had never seen in his life.
Seeing his reaction, his grandmother smiled and asked him to join her to eat first. After their meal Alan helped his grandmother in cleaning and they sat again.
