"I was born in Green town actually. I was the only child to my parents who were both healers by profession. I grew up seeing my parents treat people of their ailments. And see the gratitude in their eyes after they were cured. Naturally this inspired me to become a healer in the future.
As I reached my 12th birth year I took an entrance exam at the Winden City's famous Adventurer's Academy.
Growing up in a place of healing and helping my parents with the patients had given me an enormous advantage to secure my place in the healing division of the Adventurer's Acadamy.
I excelled in all my academic classes and practical exams during my tenure as a student. Once I came out of the academy as a healer, I became and apprentice to an old healer. He was the healer for the Duke's family of the Winden City at that time. And I was the only apprenticehe had taken in a long time.
During this time, I was able to further improve my knowledge about rare herbs and their properties. He even taught me about the use of beast blood to treat certain illness.
Alan was stunned. He could not control his curiosity and wondered out loudly. " Using the beast blood to cure the illness!!! Is it really possible?"
Helen smiled at his bewilderment and nodded her head in confirmation.
"But grandma we had never discussed about this topic, Is there a reason for that?" Alan asked her. He knew that there must be a strong reason for his grandmother to avoid this subject till date.
Helen was happy to see her grandson understand her reasoning and did not blame her from keeping it a secret from him.
"Yes, the bood required for this type of medicine should be of those beasts which are not easy to find. Even if you find them, it is almost impossible for anyone or even a group of people to handle those beasts. They are of a different league altogether."
Alan nodded his head in understanding. And asked his grandmother to continue with her story.
"Where was I now?? Oh yes !! I was his apprentice for nearly 5 years and became a full fledged healer when I reach my 20th birth year. At the age of 18 my master identified that I have talent in magical healing."
"Magical healing !!???" Alan asked in confusion.
"Yes, it is a type of healing when a person manifests his internal energy and use it to help someone to quicken the process of healing or even heal injuries that are usually considered un-curable."
Alan was fascinated with this idea. "Grandma is there a possibility of me becoming a Magic healer ?"
Helen smiled sadly. " No one can tell until you reach your 18th birth year. Even if you have talent in using your internal energy, we will not know if it can be used for healing or it is used to boost your combat skills."
Alan simply nodded his head and waited patiently for Helen to continue.
"As it is rare to awaken ones internal energy, I was only the third person to have this ability in the entire Winden region after my master and the head of the Adventurer's Acadamy's healing department.
I started learning magical healing and had perfected all the basic healing and minor surgery techniques by the time i finished my apprenticeship.
After completion of my apprenticeship, I took an oath to come to the aid of the Winden region and the Adventurer's Acadamy in case of an emergency as I was the only third person to have magical healing ability."
