Yeon Jin was extremely confused. What in the world was going on?
The man standing before him glared down at him with a murderous look in his eyes but there was no denying that those set of dark violet eyes belonged to Daniel.
"What did you just say?" The mysterious man questioned.
Yeon Jin had to think first before answering. Although he looked like Daniel, he couldn't say he was his Daniel. The last time Daniel looked at him with such eyes was...he couldn't even remember when.
Yet, right now, he was glaring with the intention of actually killing him. This wasn't Daniel. But then, who was it? His head ached from trying to think too hard.
The place he was in was dark with fire torches lighting the surroundings a bit and allowing him to see that he was in a cell. An interrogation cell.
The air was damp as well as moldy and then there was... *Clang*
He paused and slowly looked down at his body. No wonder he felt a bit heavy. There were chains tied around his body, serving as restraints.
His hands, his neck, his legs... There were metal collars, connected together by not too heavy chains. Why was he chained? What exactly was his situation?
He couldn't help but feel that this was a dream.
Suddenly, his hair got grabbed violently and the mysterious man pulled his head closer to him, earning the annoying sound of several metals clashing and clanging.
"I don't like repeating myself." He said, in a deep gruff and threatening voice, Yeon Jin winched in pain.
"Ugh." He held the man's arm. "That hurts. Let go."
"What's this? You didn't fight back all through the torture and investigation section." He asked but all Yeon Jin cared about was alleviating the sharp pain caused by his hair being forcefully pulled.
'I am certain this is one of those strange dreams.' He thought. 'This man, doesn't he know how painful it feels to have your hair pulled?'
"Have you turned mute once again?" The mysterious man asked.
Yeon Jin felt extremely uncomfortable. His entire body was wet, his arms, neck and legs were all feeling heavy thanks to the chains and here this man was adding to it by pulling his hair.
"Do you plan to make me bald?" He asked him, which confused the man.
He didn't know if it was a dream but one thing was for sure, the pain was real and one thing he hated more than anything was being in pain.
The mysterious man narrowed his eyes as his gaze became more intent, glaring at the spy who was trying to make a fool out of him.
"What games are you trying to play here?" He asked, strengthening his grip on Yeon Jin's hair. "Honestly, I don't need you to confess anything. There are many ways to find fault with an enemy nation. War is inevitable."
"What the heck?" Yeon Jin strengthened his grip on the mysterious man's arm and looked up at him. "Didn't I already say this?" With one swift motion, he pulled his arm, flipped him over and he landed straight on the floor. "It freaking hurts."
The mysterious man, who didn't know how he came to marry the ground, blinked in confusion. He looked at his captive who had succeeded in throwing him off his feet and was currently sitting on top of him while threatening to strangle him with his chains. At least, that was how he perceived the situation.
But it was odd. It was impossible for him to go down even with a hundred soldiers against him yet here, a single person who had nothing but skin and bones had successfully thrown him to the ground with ease.
It was humiliating and at the same time… amusing.
"Ah, you finally decided to show your true colors. I knew you weren't as simple as you looked." He accused, grinning from ear to ear.
Yeon Jin was more confused. Who in their right mind would grin in the situation he was in? But first things first.
"First, I want to know this. Who are you and why do you have Daniel's face?" He asked. "Is this a dream?"
The mysterious man's grin did not fall as he wondered what sort of act this sly captive was trying to put on in order to escape.
'Come to think of it, if he was this good at fighting, how did he get caught?'
"Hey, I'm talking to you." Yeon Jin barked, forcefully grabbing his collar to prove how serious he was. "Why... Why do you look so much like my Daniel? Why do you have his eyes? Tell me, why am I here?"
"There's no extent to how shameless the people from the holy empire can be. But I can compete with that." The man muttered and snapped his fingers but surprisingly, nothing happened. He looked at his fingers, confused. Why did nothing happen?
"I don't know what you're talking about." Yeon Jin insisted. "Right now, I just want to go home."
The man looked deep into his captive's blurred and dull pupils. He looked like he was blind but so far, his movements have not been impaired.
'He must be someone with holy powers.' He thought and his expression became twisted. 'How disgusting.'
The guards, who had been ordered to wait outside and not dare to go in for fear of being perceived as arrogant, spotted Yeon Jin on top of their prince and acted.
"Your highness." They rushed in and an agitated Yeon Jin was immediately tackled down to the floor. The collar around his neck, which seemed to be a magical taming device, was immediately activated and it sent shock waves all over Yeon Jin's body.
"Ahh." He screamed, unable to handle the sudden shock. With his vision getting hazy, he looked at the mysterious man who had now gotten up to his feet.
He reached out to his leg and held on to him, muttering out loud.
"Where's... My... Daniel?" From there, he lost consciousness.
"Your highness, should we eliminate the spy?" One of the guards went ahead of himself and asked.
The prince, who was still wondering why his powers failed, decided to try it out again. He snapped his fingers and the guard, who had so daringly questioned him, had his neck snapped in an instant by a dark red fog and his body flopped to the ground.
"Nothing wrong." He said and glanced over at Yeon Jin who was still holding on to his leg.
He clicked his tongue and immediately pulled his leg back. He snapped his fingers but towards Yeon Jin, there was no reaction. His forehead furrowed heavily as he looked in disgust.
"There is no end to those bastard's tricks."
