As I made my way through the bustling castle, a surge of excitement pulsed through my veins. The mere thought of seeing Lucien once again after all this time filled my heart with an indescribable joy.
Vincent's warnings and discouraging words had done little to dampen my spirits; instead, they fueled my determination to reunite with my first love. Despite everything he claimed about Lucien's disinterest, I couldn't shake the hope that maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for us, a chance of redemption and rekindling everything that was lost.
Because if Lucien didn't care, then why would he send Rita here to rescue me?
