Hex was lying on his couch, staring at his laptop, which was still propped up on his table.
Ever since he equipped his new blade, he hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. Instead he was searching for a group to join.
Unlike blue gaps, other gaps required a team of at least five people.
Without those five no one was eligible to enter this gaps.
At least two long and short-range fighters were required. Accompanied by those who could improve characteristics, heal, and cast body-strengthing spells.
Without those three sorts, no one would be qualified.
And to think the White Gaps occasionally made the headlines, even when the operation failed and resulted in a huge bloodbath.
Now, seeking for a group online proved difficult. No group seemed to be missing or wanting a member.
This made Hex cringe.
'The day I am set to make big money and this bastards lock up.....'
He grinded his teeth figuring it wouldn't be that easy to find a group.
Who would want to find an extra mouth to feed?
Hex spat a sigh of relief.
At the very least, he found a buyer for the Master Earth Dweller core.
He previously set an amount of twenty thousand. Unfortunately, he was forced to sell for five.
He still did not understand why he sold it at that price.
'Damn women and their ability to price shit!'
Bing!
The notification of the Laptop went loud with a buzz that excited Hex to smile inwardly.
Hex had put up this notification to activate if his application to join a medium gap group was accepted.
"Finally!"
Hex promptly tapped the notice, which sent him to the message page.
-Hi my name is Mizumi
from Tiger king group- Mizumi sent
-We are in need of a member to act as a long ranged attacker, do you fit the bill?- Mizumi sent
-Our last one didn't quite live past our last mission-
Hex spent his time considering the conduct of the individual who spoke with him.
'Seemed pretty much like a reasonable person...'
Hex typed his own message and replied.
-Yes- Hex sent
Even though he was a short ranged. Preferably. This wasn't an offer he could refuse. Hopefully she wouldn't ask of his age and would resume a week from now.
-Great- Mizumi sent.
-What grade are you? It didn't say on your application- Mizumi sent.
Hex sat himself up to think of the reply to give.
Every Cursed Slayer had a rank. And those ranks are what is used to guage your power level.
Only some specific ranks can do battle with the high grade gaps. That's why Hex ran Blue gaps missions.
He was unranked.
Every new Cursed Slayer would not be assigned a rank until the completion of their first month of running missions.
Your strength would be gauged by crystals and whatsoever. When your power level is checked you will be able to know your ranking.
The ranking as follows. Rookie, Cursed slayer, Arch slayer, Arch master, Captain then General.
Every new Cursed Slayer is expected to become a rookie. Because of the 'no stress' life they lived and the weak gaps they closed.
Also, as nobody else could level up like he did instead of selling cores for money. They used it for cultivation, accumulating energy that they might then use to boost their strength.
But that wasn't his world and lifestyle.
-Are you still there Hex- Mizumi sent
Hex gasped recalling he was still in a discussion with Mizumi.
-Sorry, I am not ranking yet- Hex sent
-Uhm? I hope you know we are going to close medium gap- Mizumi sent
-If I didn't know, would I be chatting you?- Hex sent
-Lol! I like your spunk kid-
-Come to the large water company in Volkamite street tomorrow-
-All hands will be on deck by 9:00-
-Don't dare to be late and unprepared-
-Tell your loved ones goodbye and dress in black and white tomorrow-
-The pay is 50,000 coins
-Goodbye, till tomorrow-
....Mizumi is no longer online....
Hex took a deep breath, still finding it difficult to process the information.
'If I had known it was this easy to get a Medium gap group I would have done this ages ago....'
Apart from that fact, the pay was also tempting. If he ran two missions with them, all would be okay for the rent and most of his wants.
Hex let out a sigh and returned his attention to the home's ceiling.
He wondered with the system what rank he would get. Would he be a Rookie or ranked higher.
In his past life he remained a Rookie till he died, many of his friends achieved the Arch slayer.
His goal was to become Arch Master so that he could defend everyone he cared about, including the captain who gave his life to save him.
Hoping it was possible....
Bing!
Hex opted at the screen of his laptop as another notification appeared on it.
He clicked it and appeared in another chatbox.
-Wanna do something fun tonight- My girlfriend
-Yes- Hex sent
-Sleep-
A smile peeled across his face.
'I can't miss this opportunity just to hang out! Do I look stupid?'
