Chapter 9 - I Made Those Theories

As Richard and his bodyguards made their entrance into the classroom, he simply barged in, paying little mind to the ongoing lectures. Amidst the gathering of students and their attentive faces, his thoughts whirred with a mix of amusement and recognition. A smile tugged at his lips as he mentally noted, "The gang's all here."

His eyes drifted over the array of his fellow classmates, each bearing a unique role within the pages of the novel's story.

The classroom gave off a futuristic vibe, a harmonious blend of advanced technology and learning space. At its focal point stood the teacher, standing before an expansive screen. The screen itself seemed to come alive, projecting complex holograms that she deftly manipulated, using them to explain the complexities of magic principles.

As Richard's gaze swept across the room, he notice a unique feature of the seating arrangement. The seats progressively ascended in elevation as they stretched towards the back. It was as if the room was designed to embrace the essence of learning, with every student having an unobstructed view of the holographic wonders unfolding before them.

The tables in the classroom were a marvel in design. Smooth lines and futuristic curves formed their aesthetic, and each table came embedded with a screen. These screens mimicked the holographic images projected by the teacher, ensuring that each student had their own personalized, immersive view of the lesson.

The combination of cutting-edge technology, innovative design, and an educator who could navigate the realms of magic using the power of technology and knowledge made this classroom a proof of the ever-evolving landscape of education in this urban-fantasy world.

Richard strolled casually to his assigned desk, acting as if he owned the place, and settled into his seat. Propping his feet up on the table, he appeared to be completely indifferent to the teacher's presence, as if lost in his own world.

A sense of contentment warmed Richard's thoughts, and a smile broke out on his face. "Damm I love being the villain," he thought to himself, his smile hinting at a certain mischief and satisfaction.

His gaze drifted to the protagonist, who happened to be just a few seats away. Catching the death glare directed at him, Richard's brow quirked up. "Alright, what's his deal?" he thought, a hint of curiosity tugging at the corners of his mind.

Little did he know, the teacher conducting the mana principles and application class was getting quite annoyed with his disruptive entry. Teaching the nuances of magic was no small feat, and his high and mighty attitude wasn't helping. Annoyance got the better of her, and she called for him. Her voice held a mixture of challenge and frustration as she basically dared him to prove himself by solving the complex magic open spell circuit she had just put up on the board.

"Richard, I see you've decided to grace us with your presence," the teacher's voice rang out, laced with a mixture of anger and defiance. "Care to put your confidence to the test? How about solving this magic open spell circuit in front of the whole class?"

Her words grabbed his attention, and a flicker of realization ran through him. "Oh, it's Julian, the magic circuit guru. In the original plot, she ended up disliking me after that speech in the orientation. Probably because I hit a nerve – at 19, my magic circuit entrance results were flawless, outshining her expertise. She's been at this for 12 years, and I managed to one-up her. Guess that didn't sit well."

A wry grin tugged at the corners of Richard's lips as he thought about the situation. While he might have penned some utterly far-fetched scenarios when he began crafting this novel, there was a fact about it he prided himself on perfecting - the creation of magic circuits. He had invested serious effort into portraying them with vivid clarity, knowing their importance within the realm of his story.

As his eyes assessed the holographic screen that Julian was manipulating, his mind raced. The network of magic circuits presented before him wasn't an mystery; he recognized it instantly. Through his writing, he had etched these patterns into his own imagination, and now, faced with their manifestation, he couldn't help but feel a sense of triumph.

Richard then thought to himself. "Guess it's a good thing I dived deep into how these circuits actually work. Those late nights spent reading up on real-world electronics and weaving them into my fantastical world weren't in vain. Now, I can understand and anticipate the complicated workings of these circuits."

With a mix of confidence and curiosity, Richard stood up from his seat and strolled down to the impressive holographic screen. Miss Julian, the teacher, observed his movement, her thoughts a blend of acknowledgment for Richard's intellect and a hint of skepticism about his ability to solve the complicated puzzle before him.

As Richard approached the screen, his eyes locked onto the complex web of glowing symbols. Memories of nights spent crafting similar circuits in his mind flickered through his thoughts, giving him a subtle, self-assured smile. He turned to Miss Julian with a playful glint in his eyes.

"Hey, teach. If I manage to crack this, can I call it a day for the rest of your classes?"

Miss Julian's annoyance could pretically be seen on her face, but she entertained his challenge. She assumed his request was a mere display of his usual overconfidence. If Richard succeeded in deciphering the complex magic open spell circuit projected on the screen, she agreed to let him skip the remainder of her classes for the day, or even head home early.

Meanwhile, Julian's inner monologue went something like this:

"This kid might be a prodigy, but this circuit is no child's play. Let's see if his bravado is backed by actual skills."

She couldn't help but feel a hint of satisfaction at the possibility of Richard finally meeting his match. With a nod, she responded to his wager.

"Sure, Richard. If you can solve this magic circuit, you're free to go. But don't get your hopes up too high."

Richard suddenly leaned in close to miss Julian, slightly catching her off guard, a confident twinkle in his eyes as he jokingly sought her assurance. "Really, no take backs, OK?"

As he immersed himself in the holographic images of the open spell circuit, his fingers moved over the projection, seemingly caressing the symbols and connections. His hands moved with skill that showed he knew exactly what he was doing.

Initially, Miss Julian's thoughts were filled with a sense of superiority. "Is he dumb? Dismantling an open spell circuit? It's called an open spell circuit for a reason – you don't dismantle it; you just make it work." She couldn't help but feel a smug satisfaction, thinking that all his earlier boasting was about to lead to his downfall.

But her amusement was short-lived. A confused expression overtook her as Richard began to reassemble the open spell circuit, only this time in a much more complex arrangement. It was confusing. "What's he playing at? Who assembles an open spell circuit like that? It's just plain dumb."

As the complex pattern began to take shape, a realization crept into her mind. She watched with a mix of astonishment and awe as Richard's seemingly bizarre arrangement started to make sense, forming an elaborate magic circuit that surpassed anything she had anticipated.

With each move Richard made in assembling the complex circuit, the holographic images seemed to come alive, interlocking in an awe-inspiring pattern. As he declared his task accomplished, an almost surreal hush blanketed the classroom. Miss Julian found herself unable to hide her shock; her jaw literally hung open, and she managed to stutter out her disbelief, "No.. This can't be..."
