Chapter 4 - CH4- Planet's Documentary

Half an hour after giving his tear-jerking performance to the psychologist, Jeremy went to the cafeteria since Lisa told him to come there.

On a table of four, she was already sitting with another young man who had an above-average visage along with his lean, fit body. He was sitting beside her and chatting with her with a smile on his face.

Jeremy noticed that Lisa had already removed her white suit and she was currently dressed in a comfy azure hoodie, her pink hair tied into a messy bun.

'Where is that fatty, I want to escape from here already!' Lisa, absentmindedly playing with a stirrer and her coffee, thought as she nodded to the young man's blabber.

"I am done with the questions, now what?" Jeremy pulled a chair and sat on the desk, picking up a cookie to eat. He wasn't slightly fazed by the young man's disgusted and cold look.

"Who is this fat ugly pig?" the young man asked Lisa.

"Reason for me being here." Lisa answered bluntly and turned to Jeremy, "Now you need to watch the documentary on planet history, then listen to AI reciting the line of the laws and then stay in a closed room for 3 days to introspect about your choices. Aria will guide you to your destinations."

"Thank you, I will buy you lunch when I am out." Jeremy chuckled, his habits of making playful teases and flirting were ingrained in his mind. As for the Aria, it was actually the name of the AI which detected his suicidal thoughts and also knocked him out easily.

This planet was really much more technologically advanced than the usual worlds Jeremy has revived into. There were about 1:20 odds of him being revived in a technologically advanced world like NoKiNoDe.

"F*ck off, who wants to eat with you?" Lisa scoffed, imitating how Jeremy had told her to fuck off in the vehicle.

However, strangely enough, Jeremy didn't sense as much disgust from her as she had shown when they first met. It was a minor detail but Jeremy was surprised by it.

But not putting thought into it, he walked away under the guidance of Aria. He soon entered a theatre-like room that had a singular huge screen and arrays of couches in front of it.

Apart from him, a few more seats were occupied by two types of cliques. 1st type was the aggressive type, looking like savage beasts who wanted to tear the flesh apart. In contrast, the 2nd type was similar to him, depressed and done with life.

As soon as he seated himself, the lights of the room dimmed out and the screen lit up, showing a calm cloudy planet hanging in the vast space. After a nice cinematographical view of the planet, a caption appeared that read 'Planet NoKiNoDe, formerly known as Planet Yeasr.'

The camera blurred and zoomed into the planet, speeding through the clouds and appearing in a shocking scene that looked like a scene out of the wildest fantasy movie. The planet was multiple times smaller than the size of Earth, and it was visibly divided into 3 sections.

The top section was raging with fire, covered in lava, flames, and hardened black rocks. Every second, a few volcanos erupted, leaking more magma into the already burning world. It extended from the North Pole to 30'N.

The bottom section, the polar opposite to the North section, was freezing in chilling ice. Thick blankets of snow-covered floor, completely frozen oceans, gigantic glaciers, thick clouds, and unending stormy hailstorms. It extended from the South Pole to 30'S.

Normally speaking, no human could survive on either of the two poles of this enigmatic planet. And the population of NoKiNoDe wasn't any different. If the manifestation of ice and fire had extended onto the equator, this planet would have been marked unfit for habitat.

But, at the junction of ice and fire, extending from 30'N to 30'S, the environment became significantly better. One can find occasional grasslands, forests, flora, and fauna. It was like an oasis between a desert of death.

'No wonder they have a meager population.' Jeremy hummed, understanding why the laws were so protective of life. Considering such a dangerous environment, the birth-to-death ratio should be barely equal, sometimes death being a lot higher due to natural disasters.

Thus putting a shortage in youth and an overall decrease in population. If this persisted, it wasn't farfetched to say this planet would soon go extinct of intelligent life.

After 5 hours, the documentary ended and the credits rolled.

During that time, Jeremy had grasped how troublesome the world he had just found himself in.

He was determined to end his life himself, but only now he realized how difficult such an easy task was going to be. Planet NoKiNoDe is an abbreviation of the saying 'No killing, no deaths.'

The omniscient AI Aria, attached to every human's brain, prevented any form of death from occurring to all the populace. Except for the unavoidable deaths like diseases, old age, and disasters, of course.

Thinking of jumping off a building? Aria will pop up a parachute.

Thinking of stabbing yourself? Aria will take control of the nerves and paralyze you.

Thinking of hiring an assassin? Aria will paralyze them.

As for the last resort, going to either the North Pole or South Pole? Rules strictly prohibited it.

Thus, it wasn't wrong to say that Jeremy, a mysterious and overpowered being who could take over different bodies after death, and was basically immortal, was stuck in the body of an ugly pig. Unable to escape.

'Why is my luck so bad?!' Jeremy felt like crying.

If it was before his 30th life, the life he began to actively partake in carnal pleasures, he could have worked his way with his current situation. After all, it wasn't that hard. He only needed to wait till the longevity of this fatty runs out.

But the problem was… Jeremy didn't want to wait.

"Hey, you! Yeah, you. No not you! I mean the fatty, yes you, your room for solitary confinement is 31. Get going."

A worker in a lab suit slapped a badge on Jeremy's chest and pushed him away, as if disgusted to remain in his presence.

'This son of a… wait, didn't that girl say killing is prohibited, but beating to near death is fine?' Jeremy glared at the worker who pushed him and smirked, 'Might as well have a little fun~'
