"What was that in the class? Why did you take my name for no reason?"
After the end of their class, Lisa quickly strode towards Jeremy and cornered him, eyeing him dangerously.
"I owed you lunch. Don't worry, I don't think the only 'one' item condition applies to you." He replied casually and turned to leave.
"Is that how a lunch is served, fatty? No wonder you don't even have a date or girl, you don't know how to treat one." Lisa scoffed coldly.
Jeremy turned to her once again, his ugly face curling into an even uglier scowl, "I believe in an arranged marriage, miss. Helps to avoid the gold diggers and hoes."
Before she could reply, Jeremy walked away from her and moved towards the next classroom.
'Did that overconfident pig call me a gold digger and a hoe?' Lisa stood at her place, stunned.
Never had she been spoken to like that, and it was beyond humiliating, even when no one heard their little exchange.
She was a campus belle of this school, and she liked to be treated as one.
"FUCKING DICKHEAD!" she stomped her feet and huffed angrily.
Alas, Jeremy was already gone to entertain her shenanigans. Though even if he was here, he wouldn't have cared.
"Oh my, who is the gutsy warrior who can make our princess curse like that?" Lisa's best friend, Amelia smirked in amusement and beehived towards the raging Lisa. She saw her cursing from a distance and before she knew it, she was already standing near Lisa to tease the hell out of her.
"He is a bastard! You should curse him too!" Lisa pouted her lips, "It's Luke, the fatty of our class."
"Sorry, I don't curse." Amelia giggled softly, "And Luke? Seriously? You are talking to that guy?" Amelia's face frosted suddenly, imagining Luke's ugly face.
Lisa blushed, "Of course not! That shithead was admitted to the asylum for NoDe rule, and I was his protector."
"I see." Amelia narrowed her eyes, "You don't need to talk to such disgusting and lower-class people as Luke, Lisa. Don't give me a reason to text your mom."
The warm and teasing voice of Amelia's was gone, replaced by a heartless cold one, the one shaped by the repeated etiquettes drilled into her brain since a young age. Ever since she was adopted 16 years ago, she was trained by Lisa's mother to serve as Lisa's trusted aide.
And Amelia did that. She was Lisa's best friend and her most trustworthy friend.
However, the connection between Amelia and Lisa's mother was peculiar, which sometimes felt like maybe, just maybe, Amelia wasn't her friend, but her mother's spy.
From the mysterious disappearance of Lisa's secret boyfriend to Amelia's interest in Lisa's male friends, all of them didn't seem like mere coincidences.
"Ha ha, of course, I know that, Lia." Lisa laughed awkwardly, "Luke is leagues below me. There is no comparison."
"As it should be, Lisa." Amelia smiled brightly, "If you need a boyfriend, I think Mr Reyes is much sexier, you know? He also seems slightly interested in you, just saying hehe."
"He is a narcissistic little boy who only knows how to talk about himself." Lisa scowled, "I don't deal with such obnoxious people."
"You know what, just leave it. Let's go to the next class." Lisa sighed at her friend and started to walk, leaving a contemplating Amelia behind.
'Such low-class people are bad for you, Lisa.' Amelia narrowed her eyes dangerously when Luke's ugly and chubby face popped into her mind. She scoffed dryly and entered the classroom as well, taking her seat in the back row beside Lisa.
"Where is the baldie?" Lisa giggled when Amelia joined her, looking at the blank stage where the professor was supposed to be.
"Maybe hitting on the blondie again." Amelia chuckled.
"I don't even know what she sees in that bald little dude. They are leagues apart." Lisa shook her head, but as soon as she said that, her eyes darted towards a seat in the middle row, occupied by a short chubby young man.
His face was far below average, and his fat figure gave him a look of a human football… yet, she was always peeking at him. 'Why? What do I see in him?'
Lisa growled in frustration and slammed her head on the desk, pretending to be asleep.
She couldn't help but remember the interactions between herself and the fatty. How he treated her as if was air, and talked rudely as if her beauty was subpar at best. How could any normal straight man even do it?
'Is he… gay?' a thought popped into her head but then she shook her head again, 'Being gay is illegal. You can't make babies if you are gay, and all we need here are babies for fuck's sake.'
"Hey Lisa, are you okay?" Ronald Reyes, an heir to a wealthy businessman, the one Amelia was always shipping her to, came to disturb Lisa's introspection.
He as always, occupied a vacant seat near to her and kept looking at her in worry.
"I am sleeping." Lisa turned to him and replied coldly, burying her head into the desk again.
"If you are having a headache, I have some meds to relieve it." Ronald offered politely.
"No, thanks." Lisa faked a smile, "Please let me sleep if you are so worried."
"Oh of course, good night Lisa." Ronald pursed his lips and stopped bothering, turning to Amelia and engaging her in small talk instead, though mostly the topic of conversation was Lisa.
'So annoying!' Lisa grumbled, 'Why can't that fatty act like this instead huh? Just like he used to? Bringing me those stupid fucking tulips even when I told him I am allergic?'
"Well, good afternoon, class. Open your textbooks at page number 69." A bald slim man strode into the class and slammed his book onto the table, making Lisa wake up with a groan.
"Oh and before I forget, for those who missed their forms for the field activity, you may collect your forms from the CR." He continued.
'Field trip! My chance!' Jeremy smirked widely when he heard the opportunity.
