Chapter 3 - CH3- The Therapy

Jeremy paled… 'Oh well, I am royally f*cked.'

He wasn't super worried about the punishments like listening to laws or solitary confinement, the thing he was most worried about was the 'questions'.

It was his bane in every world, a dreadful nightmare. It wasn't like he could inherit the memories of his past self to learn about the things, he needed to dig for information himself. However, never in his life did he think that having suicidal thoughts could be against the law!!!

Weren't they normal for everyone? Some have it worse than others, while some are just tired of life. No matter who, everyone at some point or another, has suicidal thoughts. Of course, acting on it takes a lot of courage and hate towards life.

'I need info about this world, but how? This bitch wouldn't answer properly and I can't use the internet to dig for information.' Jeremy gritted his teeth, 'If I mess up this session, I might get thrown into prison and I will need to waste more time in this useless body.'

"Anyways, since it's my job I will let you know some things. Due to your pathetic state of mind, you dared to think of suicide, which is a crime as per the NoDe rule." Lisa snapped her finger, copying how Jeremy had pulled her attention.

"I am tired of life, why the hell is there a NoDe rule anyway?!" Jeremy pretended to be mad.

"Obviously to prevent deaths. Due to many suicide cases, the NoDe rule was made after the NoKi rule. You need to live, reproduce, and contribute to the population. Robots cannot fill the hole alone." Surprisingly, Lisa didn't show too much arrogance in answering Jeremy's doubts. Maybe because she pitied his punishment, or maybe he was just overthinking.

'What the hell is NoKi or NoDe though?! Who the f*ck has such crappy naming sense?!' Jeremy scratched his head with his hands which were unbounded from the stretcher, although he still had to wear his handcuffs.

"What kind of questions will they ask…?" Jeremy acted frightened and anxious.

"Hah, you should have thought about that before thinking about suicide." Lisa enjoyed his anxious look and rubbed salt in his wounds, "They will ask you about your life, reason for the steps, and some basic questions."

"Sounds easy enough."

"It is. Questions are easy, the main torture is the law hearing session, planet's story, history, and many more boring things."

"You sound like you have been here before."

"Once. Due to violation of the NoKi rule. Don't ask how."

'Phew, good, I can survive the questioning.' Jeremy sighed in relief, he already knew basic stuff about the body when he coincidentally glanced at the ID card that hung near the mirror. His name was Luke Orsics, he lived in the city known as Happi. He was 17 years old.

But there was one question Jeremy was still worried about, so he turned back to Lisa and asked, "Hey you. Did you hear anything from my parents yet?"

This was the biggest plot hole in his plan since he had no idea if he had any parents or if he was an orphan.

"You bitc- fatass! I am not 'Hey you'!!!! Call me by something respectful like a miss or at least my name!" Lisa stomped her foot in rage.

Jeremy was tempted to hit her with a cheesy flirty line, but then remembering his ugly looks, he gave up and nodded casually, "My bad."

"Arrogant bastard! How did you get such arrogance in your micro body." Lisa grumbled, "And no. Neither your mom nor your dad cares about you. You are a failure, unlike your brother."

"As expected of them." Jeremy nodded with a hidden smirk, 'Good, now I know I have both my parents and a brother. I am ready for the therapy.'

***

Inside the asylum, Jeremy sat on a chair in front of a white-haired elderly man who had a trimmed, neat beard and an elegant look on his face. His clothes were simple but not to be looked down upon. He was his psychologist.

"What course do you study?"

"…"

"What is your father's name?"

"…"

"Is your part-time work troubling you? Where do you work?"

"…"

"Sigh… Luke, I can't help you if you don't give me answers, you know?" the psychologist sighed, "Where do you live? I heard it's by the slums, is that causing you issues?"

"…"

Jeremy looked blankly at the psychologist, speechless and as meek as a mouse, unable to utter a single word. After all, how could he when the psychologist kept asking him questions, he didn't know a bit about?

'Which f*cker died and made this quack a psychologist?!?!' Jeremy cursed in his mind, 'This bastard is asking me everything except the reason I tried to commit suicide!!'

"Luke, is there anything wrong?" the psychologist asked in a gentle tone.

'Finally!' Jeremy faked a tear and clenched his fists, showing the pain on his face. "I-It's nothing, sir… you wouldn't understand…"

"I will understand son, tell me. I am here to help you." The psychologist smiled kindly.

"No, no one can help me. No one likes me. Everyone hates me. They call me fat, ugly, pig, pathetic, worthless, and much more. You can never understand my pain!!" Jeremy lowered his head, tears dripping from his eyes as he cried and vented to the psychologist, "I am sure you will call me like that once I leave this room too!"

Jeremy's words tugged at the old man's heartstrings, making the old man connect to the young man who seemed to be going through a lot. After all, how wouldn't it? Jeremy was using heavy words he read in movies without holding back.

"The miss outside said I need to survive, reproduce, and help the population. But doc, do you really think any girl would want someone like me? No. Even I don't want myself. So please, go away and let me die. I will go out peacefully without disturbing anyone." Jeremy continued to cry, hitting when the iron was hot.

"Y-Yes someone –"

"Okay, I heard you have a daughter. Can you marry her to me?" Jeremy stared at the psychologist, red-eyed and in pain, "You said someone might be there, right? Marry your daughter to me."

"NO, I-"

"See, even you are against me. You said you wanted to help, but no, you lied. Everyone lies. I want no one, leave me alone!" Jeremy got up from his seat and kicked it, walking out of the room. The psychologist didn't dare to stop him this time, or the crazy bastard might bully the old man again into giving up his daughter.

'F*ck, give me an Oscar.' As soon as Jeremy disappeared from the old man's vision, the tears magically dried up and the pain disappeared, exchanged by a confident smirk.

'Now 4 days till I get my freedom!'
