Story begins

--

Back with Angus

--

Waking up after Slumbering he decided that it was high time that he found a use for his magic.

--

Thinking back to many works of fiction and history of his world.

When he was a kid, he never was in awe of Magic, he much more preferred stories of Legendary Blacksmiths and warriors.

This brought his mind to the Norse

When one thought of Fierce warriors, the Norse and Gaul's would be the first thing that pops in one's mind.

In History the magic that was most associated with these groups of people was Runes.

--

Thinking about it, Angus never really focused much on runes.

Yes, he read about them in passing, but he never put much research into it.

All of a sudden images started floating in his head.

Loads of information arriving caused Angus to pass out in pain.

--

But as this happened unbeknownst to Angus, the Adaptable mind portion of his blessing kicked. It Slowly but surely adapted his mind to store and easily access this information.

--

Coming to, Angus' mind felt much clearer than it has ever felt before.

Pondering about earlier and runes, the images started to appear again with information on each rune and what they did.

This time there was no pain and no passing out.

Angus—this must be something that the bleeding bastard Lugh gave me but did not talk about. —

deciding to get straight to work, he took some clay that he found at the river, and started engraving little bits with runes.

Channeling magic into some of them came with a myriad of effects.

Some exploded, caught fire, kept things warm, magic barriers, etc.

Once the experimentation was done, h went on to study more of the information in his head.

He learnt that different material could affect the quality of the runes. Also depending on the placement/formation of runes in an array can also affect the power of these arrays.

Learning all of this made Angus gape in awe that runes had such a varied affect.

One of the affects that he was interested in trying out was body enhancement runes also known as runic tattoos.

But He did not want to try those, until he had a better understanding on all of this new information.

--

Going to the river Angus found a lot of flint, this he took back with him along with clay.

Once back at the fort he started the process of making clay pots.

All of them were rudimentary, and he planned on improving them in the future.

But currently he inscribed runes of cold, adjustment and protection.

These pots he planned to store cold water and to preserve his meat.

Once again, he went to the river, but this time filled the cold pots up with water and brought them back for later use.

The next plan was to improve his weapons and tools.

First was the axe, along with a hatchet for fighting.

Taking branch that fell from an Ash tree.

He then shaved, and carved it into 2 handles.

Axe was 3 ft, and the hatchet 1 ft in length

Next was the axe heads

Knapping the stones into shape, the axe was about 20 pounds and the hatchet 10 pounds.

Deciding to try engraving runes, He used his nails which he found were extremely sharp and durable

On the Hatchet and axe, Angus slowly carved in durability, lightness, sharpness runes.

Next tool was an adze for tilling the soil.

It was also using an Ash handle, this time for runes; Durability, lightness, sharpness, piercing, fertility.

A neat piece of information that Angus learnt was that by putting fertility runes on a tool, each time he worked the ground, the ground became healthier and fertile.

Next was a spear.

For this he used a Scots pine shaft, and for runes; durability, sharpness, piercing, return to owner.

Once Angus was done his tools, he decided to spend the rest of the day training.

A new training that was implemented along with meditation, physical and spearman ship was his Nail engraving.

For this he continuously used his nails to scratch into a stone. Thanks to his Blessing from Lugh, this would allow him stronger nails, and the ability to carve runes faster in the future.

Along with this, he practiced hand to hand, but focused on adding claw slashes to use his natural advantages.

--

Training continued on for the next 2 weeks, ending the First month of the "Unrest age"

During this time, he also cut down many trees, and made pots for future expansion and use.

Location: Gobannogron, city of the Mithril Mountain Dwarves

Unrest age, month 2 day 1

Dwarf lord 1: King Gerna, our Mithril stores will run dry soon, we must replenish for our artificers to continue working.

Dwarf lord 2: I agree, especially with these earthlings brought over by the Gods, war is afoot. We can not let those savage bloodthirsty High elves have a leg up on us.

King Gerna: I agree, lets send envoys to our cousins in the Allig Mountains to request for Mithril. I will send my brother Brieg.

Dwarf Lord 1: No, it will be far better to send teams back into the Split Mountains again.

Dwarf General 1: that is not feasible, the last caravan sent there barely returned with a 10% of the original group. The creatures of the Chaos Faction have grown bolder and stronger.

Dwarf Artificer 1: to obtain more Mithril, I am willing to open our stores at a discounted price, so that you have a better chance.

Dwarf Lord 2: This is an excellent idea, maybe send in the crown prince Ulst, so that he will have hand on training in battling the Chaos Faction.

Prince Ulst: Please Father I am already 3000 years of age. I must gain a reputation of strength.

Dwarf General 2: My king I will send the Pipers Legion with the prince, so that you may not fear harm, and we might have a better chance.

King Gerna: Very well, my son, prince Ulst will head into the Split Mountains. While my brother Brieg shall also lead a trade caravan to the Allig Mountain Dwarves. Now what is our next line of business.

Dwarf Priest: My King, we have received word Lord Goibnu, two of these Earthling dwarves are his champions. What would you have us do? Should we lavish them in riches, or treat them based off of their ability.

Dwarf Smith Master: My king, lets assign one champion to each of the two best Master smith Clans that we have.

King Gerna: Very well, as for treatment, give them better homes, but everything else must be earned by their own hands. "The Mighty Tree Falls"

Other Dwarves: "while the Mountain stays Strong"

--

(AN: this is a mantra for these dwarves" The Mighty Tree Falls, while the Mountain stays Strong")

--

Dwarf lord 2: we have 80 other dwarves; how should we proceed? Should we integrate them in existing clans or let them make their own.

King Gerna: Lets integrate them into current clans, so that they can learn and grow to be one of our own and not outsiders.

King Gerna: I leave the choosing to the Clans, do not make me need to Interfere!
