Begin story

--

--

Location with Angus by the river in Split Mountain valley.

--

Angus: Well? What is your name and why have you brought your enemies here.

Prince Ulst: I am Ulst the 1st Prince of the Gobbanogron Dwarves. We were on a mining expedition before being attacked by the orcs. Now why did you save us? Are you not a Goblin? Also is this not the Orcs territory?

Angus: I might be a goblin, but I am free of thought, I can do what ever and live wherever I want.

Angus: it is getting dark, follow me and I will keep you safe for the night.

--

Angus then led the dwarves to his home, but along the way he carried some exploding stones just in case.

--

Once at the Fort, Angus went about setting up a fire while the Dwarves took out food.

Angus: what caused the orcs to attack you? Did you step into their territory?

M-G Donal: Yes, but this land originally belonged to us before the age of the Sword. Now whenever we try to mine Mithril, we are attacked by orcs and it gets worse every time we come back.

Prince Ulst: you seem to have a nice home, why are you here and not serving the Orcs like other goblins?

Angus: Why would goblins be serving orcs?

M-G Donal: Goblins were made to serve the Orcs; they were made weak so they could not fight back.

Angus—weak? Just because your weak does not mean they can't become strong using intelligence. —

Angus: Hmm, I am not from here so I did not know that. I cam from the North western Cliffs. My tribe were isolationists (AN: Angus made this up since he does not want to tell others of his origins) --

--

Angu: After the death of my Family, I cam here looking for a new home. On the topic of home how to you plan to get back to yours with the Orcs blocking the way?

M-G Donal: We Plan to go to the north and bypass these mountains by going through Human territory.

Prince Ulst: For thanks on saving us we could take you with us?

Angus: I will give you supplies but this is my home, one day it will be a city. When that day comes, I will call in that favour to get your people to trade with mine.

Prince Ulst very well, but if we are to do that you must get rid of the Orcs.

Angus: Oh, let me handle that – I can free goblins at the same time of eliminating these orcs. —

M-G Donal: Thank you very much, what would you like in payment for the supplies, Mithril?

Angus: No, right now that is not useful to me, but if you can instruct me on how to built one of those muskets, I will be pleased.

--

The dwarves then broke off into a huddle discussing the deal.

Then they returned to Angus

--

Prince Ulst: Very well, but what kind of Supplies can you give?

Angus: I have little meat, but it should last you 2 days for your whole group. Also, I will give you 3 dozen rune stones, 2 dozen of which are exploding runes and the other dozen are warming runes.

M_G Donal: the Exploding Stones are useful but why the Warming runes?

Angus: If you are passing through hostile territory, it is best not to have a fire, so these stones can go in your cloaks and keep you warm at night.

Prince Ulst: How do you know runes? Only the dwarves use them, and Goblins usually use area affect magic?

Angus: Remember I am not an average Goblin, I learnt them in my dreams.

M-G Donal: Very well, thank you We will now get some rest so that we are ready for tomorrow.

--

The Next day

Angus was taught the runes specific to the magic Muskets, and he was shown that there was a magic absorbing battery, that stored this Magic for use allowing up to 3 shots before recharge.

This gave many Ideas to Angus so that he could bring some modern amenities to this world.

--

M-G Donal: thank you good goblin, one day I hope we meet again, I wish you luck on your endeavours.

Angus: My name is not Goblin it is Angus, have a safe trip.

--

Donal just laughed before the remining 18 Dwarves including Ulst and Donal left to the north.

--

With Angus

When the dwarves left, Angus made a few exploding stones and invisibility stones.

Then he left to observe these orcs.

--

Angus then left Split Valley for the Split Mountains.

Shortly he saw Goblins at work scavenging the bodies of Dwarves. In the distance you could see Orcs acting as overseers beating the goblins if they were not fast enough.

--

Angus quietly approached a goblin who was in the orcs blind spot near a thick clump of bushes.

Quickly Angus covered the goblins mouth and drug him into the bushes.

--

Angus: Hello goblin can you understand me what is your name? Mine is Angus.

Goblin: My name is Guts, why did you take me from work, I will be beaten or killed now, so will you for not working.

Angus: I do not serve these Orcs, I come from another place. Would you fight if you could be free?

Guts: How could I. the weak do not have freedom.

Angus: I can give you strength, if you head into the forest to the north with other goblins, I can give you your freedom but you must be able to work and fight for it.

Angus: When you here an explosion get your friends and run, do not mind the orcs, I will handle them.

--

Angus then Left.

Guts feeling a bit of hope, when dragging a corpse told 10 other goblins.

Then they waited

--

Angus snuck to the south east where a large clump of Orcs were.

Once in place he started chucking exploding stones, causing chaos.

Then Angus ran like a jack rabbit

--

With the Orcs occupied, Guts and his friends ran to the north, once a way away they hid in some brambles.

--

Shortly later Guts and the others were scared by a twig snapping.

Preparing to either run or fight, they were all relieved when a goblin appeared.

This was Angus.

--

Angus: Well Guts, I kept part of my promise. Now let's go to my home and start your new lives.

Guts: thankyou will we come back for the Other?

Angus: One day, but you need to become strong first, how about the rest of you? Do you want to get strong enough to fight orcs?

Quiet cheering was the response.

--

Angus then led the Goblins back to his fort and gave them food.

--

Next day

With the aid of 11 other Goblins, Angus got to work expanding the fort, adding 3 more towers with a walk way on the walls. Next, he also added a cellar for rooted vegetables, and a storage house for dry goods.

--

Next was the clearing of land and planting of wild Oats, wheat and barley

With runic tools made by Angus, all of these jobs became slightly faster.

--

The next day

Angus: very well everyone, I promised to make you strong, pick those stone up and run after me.

--

For the next 6 hours Angus led his people in exercise then spearman ship/ axe throwing, only taking the briefest of breaks.

By the end the goblins were wishing they could go back to the orcs and get a beating instead of whatever this was.

--

For a week, Training was all that happened besides the goblins being taught how to track/hunt.

--

Once the week was done, Angus was not confident that they could fight Orcs and win, but he was sure they would make the Orcs wish they never attacked.

--

Elsewhere with Prince Ulst and the other dwarves

The further north these dwarves travelled the colder it got.

At this time, they praised their Creator Gofannon for letting Angus give them these rune stones

--

Prince Ulst: Hey Donal, how come we have never used these things before?

M-G Donal: I have lived for 5000 years; even thought I took training in runes I have never seen any like this. All of our Runes are used for bigger effects, I don't think anyone has thought of making something so simple.

M-G Donal: I believe your father and the Runes masters should be notified of this though, it is a great boon for our people.

Prince Ulst: do you have an idea as to why the goblin wanted the knowledge to make a musket?

M-G Donal: remember he is a friend now and his name is Angus. I believe he knows that he is weak, so he probably wants them to stay free and to fight the orcs.

Prince Ulst: This is great, with someone killing the orcs we can again claim the Split Mountains.

M-G Donal: I do not think that will be the case. Most likely Angus will claim those mountains, but might trade with us.

Prince Ulst: A goblin? Claiming the mountains filled with Mithril? That is laughable, we can make him submit, and all of the mithril will be ours!

--

As Ulst was grinning in greed, M-G Donal simply shook his head.

M-G Donal—That will not be a good idea, I will need to notify the king of this. Angus might be weak now but I believe he will be an amazing ally.
