Vincent stood up from his chair after he was done eating, he looked at Ashlyn who was so concentrated on her food, had her mouth filled and unconsciously smiled. Without saying a word, he left the dining room to his living room and sat down comfortably on his two arms couch and crossed his legs.
He took out two phones from his pocket, kept one on the arm of the couch and unlocked the other. He dialled a number and held it closer to his ear as it rang.
"Where are you?" Vincent said immediately the called connected and he heard a short reply. "I'm coming in." before hanging up the call.
After what seemed like a minute, a familiar man with black hair and eyes holding a file entered. It was no other person than Diego Alex. He was wearing a brown long sleeve shirt, buttoned from down to up with only one button left out and a black trouser with brown shoes to match.
"What took you so long?" Vincent asked a bit irritated by Diego's lateness.
Hearing Vincent question, Diego gave Vincent the file he was holding and sat down on the couch opposite Vincent before answering. "I was stuck in the traffic."
Opening the file, he scanned through the first page but before he was done he noticed another presence and raised his head. "Where are you going?" Vincent said and Diego turned his head towards his left only to see a new figure.
Ashlyn, who had noticed Vincent leaving the dinning room didn't say a word as the only thing she was interested in now was getting back her strength with this food at her front. When she was done eating, she left the dining room and headed towards the same direction she saw him enter. On getting to the sitting room, she saw two men; one was familiar and the other wasn't.
She had wanted to talk to Vincent concerning what happened last night but seeing another man with him and how concentrated he was going through the file on his hand, she decided not to bother him and come back later probably when he was done with his visitor but as she turned around to leave quietly, she heard his voice and she was startled.
Composing herself, she turned back slowly and faced Vincent direction. She was surprised that he noticed her despite how quiet she was.
"Don't you want to know what happened last night?" Vincent said partially asking a question.
Hearing his words, Ashlyn curiosity heightened up and she walked towards him.
Diego, who was seeing what was happened could not help but be surprised and also curious as to what they were talking about. 'Last night?' what happened between them?' Knowing the kind of person Vincent is, he could say that it would be related to pleasure but observing their both reaction, he knew nothing of such happened so what exactly were they talking about and more importantly, who was this woman?
Diego had known Vincent for long and he knew that the only women that comes to his house are either Eva or his sister. He's never brought any other woman to his house including the women he have his fun with but now seeing this woman here it could only mean two things; either he has changed or she was someone special and of course it wasn't the former so who exactly was she?
"Have a seat." Vincent said and Ashlyn sat down on one of the couch closer to Diego.
Now that she was close to him, Diego looked at her and Ashlyn feeling a gaze on her she turned to the direction of the gaze. Diego could see the pureness and innocence in her eyes and he wondered how she got acquainted with Vincent. Anyone who was acquainted with Vincent was someone full of secrets and darkness but yet her eyes was pure and held no secrets in them.
As Diego was observing Ashlyn, She was doing the same. His eyes were the same as Vincent but brighter, his Aura was also similar to Vincent and she wondered if they're brothers. No, they can't be brothers. They was no physical resemblance except the fact that they are both handsomely looking like gods in human form.
She kept on observing him till she heard his voice. "Hi! I'm Diego."
Brought down from her mind space, she cleared her throat slightly before replying. "I'm Ashlyn."
"Ashlyn!" Diego repeated her name slowly. "Can I call you Ash, then?"
"Yes." She replied with a smile.
"Then, Ash is nice meeting you." He said and Ashlyn gave him a suitable reply.
"You know my friend? I guess you both must be really close." He said referring to Vincent.
"Well, we've met a couple of times so it's only natural for us to know each other, but close...." Ashlyn paused and looked at Vincent and she saw him looking at her. She couldn't tell what his looks were and she wasn't sure if he was curious and waiting for her reply.
'Ah! what's wrong with you Ash? why are you overthinking something like this? Get a grip on yourself.' She scolded herself.
She didn't know what to answer but why? Yes, they've met and he even saved her but that doesn't mean they were close. It could all be a coincidence and besides, he almost hurt her the other night at the bar so here was her answer in her head, they aren't close but yet her mouth didn't want to say those words. Why? Was she wishing for them to be close or was she curious to know his answer before she gave her own answer?
'Ah!' Her head was throbbing in pain as she kept on with her thoughts.,
Diego, seeing how she paused and looked at Vincent, he became surprised but when he saw Vincent staring back at her he became confused. He was seeing something he never expected to see. He knew Vincent and he could tell from his looks that Vincent was curious to hear Ashlyn's answer and what confused him was that he didn't hide his curiosity unlike the Vincent he knows that keeps his reactions perfectly hidden.
Turning his attention back to Ashlyn, "Who are you?" Diego could not help but ask himself.
Regaining her composure, Ashlyn put on a faint smile on her face, "Are we close?" She asked directing the question to Vincent as she waited for his reply.
