Ashlyn felt her body laying on a soft and comfortable texture as she turned and lay on her side. "What is this?" She asked in her head as she moved her palm over the surface of the bed.
Slowing blinking her eyes, she felt an unfamiliar comfort and she jolted up with her eyes fully open. "Ouch!" She screeched as she felt a sharp pain in her head.
"Where am I?" She muttered under her breath while looking around with her eyes. Where exactly was she? Was this all a dream? She slapped her cheeks thinking she was still asleep but when she felt the pain she knew it wasn't a dream.
Removing the blanket, she checked her legs and it wasn't swollen but the light scratch from last night fall was still visible on her body. She touched her head and she could feel the bruise caused by the accident last night so what exactly was going on or better still... Where exactly was she?
The strange man? She could swear she was with him last night so where was he now? She slept off in her car so why was she here in this room. The more she tried to think about where she was, the more she felt her head ached.
Just as she was still thinking where she was, she heard the sound of the door knob open and she fixed her eyes towards the direction, waiting to see whoever was there. The door opened and an average height man walked in. From his appearance, she could guess that he was in his early fifties but that wasn't the issue. What was going through her head was... Who was he? Where was she? How did she get here?
Though, he looked harmless, her senses were still at alert Incase his looks were deceiving. The memory of last night was still so clear in her head so she couldn't afford to take chances and let her guard down.
"Good morning, miss. Breakfast is ready and the boss is waiting for you at the dinning room." The man said politely with a smile on his face.
Ashlyn eyes rolled in shock as she heard his words. 'Breakfast? Boss?' Now she needed to know exactly where she was and who this man was.
As if sensing her curiosity and reading her mind, the man answered. "Sorry for not introducing myself properly. I'm Brandon, the butler of this house and Mr Yong is the boss... my boss. He brought you home last night and you were unconscious and cold so I had to call the doctor to attend to you."
"Mr Yong?" Ashlyn muttered under her breath. That name, it sounded familiar, she's heard it before. Ah! yes, Vincent Yong, that was the name of the strange man. Connecting the dots together, she got the answers she was looking for. This was his house and he brought her here but yet another question arose.
How was she unconscious? She could believe she was cold because of the air last night but... unconscious? she just couldn't understand how. The last she remembered was her falling asleep inside her car or did something happen that she was not aware of?
'Ah!' Her head throbbed in pain as he kept on thinking of it but yet she still needed answers and just as she was about to open her mouth to say something, her stomach grumbled.
'Damn!' She cursed inwardly. She was hungry and needed to eat.
"I'll be outside waiting, you can take your time." Brandon bowed his head slightly before leaving the room.
'I guess the best way to find out what happened was through the person that brought me here.' She mused in her head and pushed everything to the back of her head. Breathing out a sigh of relief, she managed to get herself out of the bed and looking at the other door at her right that was different from the door Brandon used, she guessed it was the bathroom.
Walking towards the door slowly because her legs still hurt a bit, she opened it and saw it was a not too large corridor leading to three doors so of course she could guess that either of the doors was the bathroom.
She walked to the first door, opened it and it was the bathroom. The floor and the walls were well tiled and everything was neatly kept and arranged. It looked like no one was using it but yet it was kept clean every second.
Using the bathroom properly, she felt refreshed before leaving. Opening the exit door, she knew she had used up to thirty minutes since Brandon left and she wasn't expecting him to still be waiting for her but just to her surprise he was outside the door standing calmly while patiently waiting.
Seeing him, Ashlyn felt a need to apologize though his expression wasn't looking angry, it only seemed right if she apologized.
"I'm sorry I took up much time. You shouldn't have waited for me." She said sincerely sorry for keeping him waiting.
"It's alright, miss. The boss asked me to bring you to the dinning room and if I had left you won't know your way around so it was important for me to wait." Brandon said dismissing her apologies.
Ashlyn knew that he was actually right and seeing that her apology wasn't needed, she dropped it as she heard his voice again.
"Are you ready, miss?"
Nodding her head, "Yes, let's go." Ashlyn said and Brandon started walking with her following behind him. Taking the stairs, they got to the living room, though it was big and fancy, Ashlyn didn't feel surprised because it felt like her mother's mansion.
Ah! thinking about it now, she was supposed to meet her mother today with Mark Ruckus but right now she doubts if she would be able to do that anymore. Pushing the thoughts to the back of her head she decided not to stress on it. The day wasn't over so she could still meet her mum.
Brandon led her to the dinning room and a long length rectangular table was at the center of the room. It was made for twelve people, one at each end and five at each width.
"Sir, I brought her.' He said and Ashlyn looked at the person he was talking to. It was non other than the strange man, Vincent Yong.
Vincent was seating down on the chair at one end of the table. A plate of food was covered at his front and he was going through something on his phone.
Raising his hand Vincent dismissed Brandon without lifting his eyes from his phone. But before he left, he spoke to Ashlyn.
"You may go take your seat, miss."
Nodding her head, Ashlyn smiled, "Thank you." Before taking out a the chair at the other end of the table and sat down facing opposite Vincent. She just stared at him and wondered what he was doing on his phone and now, she remembered that she hasn't seen her phone.
Opening her mouth to speak, she heard Vincent voice. "Do you remember anything that happened last night?"
