For the next five minutes, I watched beads of sweat drop from Lucien's head. It wasn't hot in the slightest bit, but it was obvious that the pressure to stay hidden was real. Staying in the tiny closet with him made me feel weird. For one, our bodies easily touched and though he was too occupied to notice it, I couldn't help but remember the way he touched me that night. It was almost three weeks ago, but it felt like a lifetime. It was too risky to be in such close contact with him, when I already made it clear nothing would happen between us again.
Especially as a part of me wanted something to happen again.
On the other hand, I had never seen Lucien this unsettled. Not even during the party. He was always sharp witted, and quick to say whatever he wanted. It was because of this second reason I turned to face him fully.
"Why are you so scared of facing them?" His ears cocked, but he took a while before answering me.
