Immediately Catherine saw my face, she glided to my side. "what's wrong?"
I glanced at her ocean blue eyes and sighed. "Nothing. It was just a crazy day at work," I responded. After learning that I was far from being the only woman Lucien was chasing, I dazed around the rest of the day. I wanted nothing more than to go back to bed and sleep away my thoughts of him.
I didn't even know what hurt me more: the jealousy that came with it, or the fact that I deceived myself into thinking I didn't care about him. Apparently, I was wrong.
"Are you sure?" My best friend asked, peering at me with increased intensity. "You're not usually like this after work, even when you're tired."
We locked eyes for a moment, before I sighed and stretched out my hands. "I need a hug."
