"Welcome to all, I look forward to working with all of you. I am Headmaster Drakus we at the Armadia Academy commit ourselves to creating individuals of excellence from every age range. I expect everyone to keep their business here prompt and appropriate I could speak on and give you a lecture but in my 500 hundred years of living actions have always been the best teacher. We shall proceed to mana Aptitude area where we evaluate how much mana you have." Headmaster Drakus clapped his hands and professors began to separate everyone into different groups. Drakus asked the first person to step up and as they placed their hands on the crystal it glowed a white color and the number 5 presented itself. The next person was called up and the crystal glowed a yellow color presenting the number 20 the crowd gasped the headmaster said as expected of an High elf. This continued with most people getting white or yellow until Anna took the stage the headmaster looked at her and said "you can skip this test if you want we all know beast folk lack magical aptitude the strength test will be shortly." Anna laughed and said " I love balls and I don't mind putting my hands on that ball meow" The headmaster was red and visibly flustered at how provocative that sounded coughed and then said "mhm well carry on" She put her hands on the ball and nothing happened when the headmaster was about to say something with a grin when the ball erupted with color about to crack until it stayed a gold and red color displaying the number 300. The headmaster was shocked and called a professor over to put her in a special line. She blew Shogi a kiss and said "see ya later meow" Shogi felt embarrassed because now people were looking at him.
Shogi was trying to figure out why he couldn't detect Anna's mana before and the system as always chimed in " The host lacks the qualifications to view Anna's mana because it far exceeds the host." Shogi understood what the system meant if that ball is accurate to the system. Freya was called up eventually and as she placed her hands on the ball it glowed a crimson color displaying the number 100 which shocked the headmaster again this is a special generation I see. When Shogi's turn came to touch the crystal the headmaster smirked and said "a mixed blood elf how..peculiar" Shogi ignored his smug comment and touched the glass glowing pure gold 160. Its a little off the systems aptitude but thats fine. The headmasters face about lost color as he whispered "It seems the goddess even shows pity to a mixed breed like you". This was sickening Shogi was building a strong dislike for Headmaster Drakus. But then he thought back to how Anna embarrassed him and thought "It was kinda cool I guess" he said to himself.
"The next test is to test your strength you will punch the dummies on the wall as hard as you can with out fear for their is a crystal that nullifies physical damage on the dummy and the excess energy is converted into numbers on a crystal device adding up to your strength score. The first person up was a dwarf he hobbled up there the headmaster just gestured at him to hit the dummy the dwarf walked over punched the dummy hard head master looked stunned as he displayed a number of 15. The day progressed and the average score was about 8. Shogi stepped up and the Head master was silent this time as Shogi punched the dummy with all his might. The results Showed as a 20 even though his stats are at 18. Freya stormed towards Shogi and said I will bury your score I refuse to let you pass me up in everything. She took the center stage and struck the dummy hard and ferociously walking away with a satisfied expression until the headmaster revealed she scored a 15. The headmaster looked at the group and said "this is worth the most points so if you lack in the other areas this is your last chance to shine. Everyone will be afforded 3 opportunities to spar and we will evaluate you according to performance The top 3 candidates throughout the exam will be rewarded with resources. If you sustain a set amount of magic damage the crystal on the bracelets will shatter protecting you and thus forth causing the bout to come to an stop. Once a reasonable amount of damage is sustained an official will call the bout. The head master sat down and the professors broke the students down into different groups The first match was a Dwarf who was going up against Freya and she blasted an ice spell called frost as soon as the match started and the Dwarf swept his hand across his wooden sword swiftly causing it to glow slicing the pieces of hail that came from the frost and as soon as he did that Freya darted forward casting ember causing everything to go smokey and as soon as she darted in the fog a few exchanges can be heard until the dwarf said I yield. Everyone began clapping and even the headmaster had to smile at what he had just seen. This fight should have been 50/50 in theory but she erased him in seconds.
The next fight that came up was Zen at the start of the battle Zen said "allegretto" and his wooden sword was pointed at the High elfs neck who wore an ugly expression as his match was over in a few breaths. Shogi walked up to the platform and his opponent happened to be a huge bear looking beastman. Shogi thought to himself "he has to be too old to be here." The signal to begin was given as Shogi thought activate swift taking up 1 mana a second which increased his movement speed by 25% . Shogi then activated mana scan thinking there isn't much that beastman can do with that small amount of mana as he dashed forward preparing a slash as the Beastman smirked Shogi got a funny feeling in his gut and dodged slightly to the right as the beastman let out a roar causing Shogi's vision to blur at this point he is seeing 5 beast men and he was pretty sure the beastman didn't have a duplicate ability. The beastman charged forward taking the initiative striking at shogi but Shogi had to win this bout he had a feeling that the reward was something special the beastman landed a glancing blow on shogi but luckily most of the force was deflected off his sword. The beastman roared saying you should be stunned right now and unable to move. Wearing an ugly face showing his grizzly teeth. Shogi closed his eyes and said well "I'm not and you could use a mint leaf" Shogi then sent his mana in all directions to detect the bear since he couldn't trust his eyes This was a big drain on his mana supply but he could somewhat see this way. Ping "Congratulations the host has unlocked a new skill Mana Sight". At this point shogi had about 4 seconds left because Mana Sight was draining 20 mana a second to leave it active Shogi stepped forward confidently thinking of his fathers training where his father told him to inch forward in a neutral stance with his sword facing forward and then said "when faced with a forward slash step off the line at an angle reversing the sword to the kneck to kill and the chin for a knockout. Shogi could tell the beastman was waiting on him to step forward as he entered the beastmans attack range not a moment later an intense forward slash was ripped at Shogi but he had side stepped parrying the beastmans sword down causing him to lean forward at this moment Shogi Reversed his grip on the wooden sword smacking the bears chin so hard his wooden sword broke knocking the bear out "Goodnight Mr.Bear" said Shogi everyone was roaring that was the craziest battle that happened yet.
The headmaster leaned in and whispered to one of his professors did you see that. That boy has potential. The kids this year are monsters. There hasn't been this much talent since the gods chose heroes to vanquish the last demon king. Shogi noticed the head master staring at him and kept walking. Shogi looked at his mana and only had 50 left so he began meditating while waiting on the next match. Shogi saw some tough people but then he witnessed Anna toying with someone like a play thing as she bounced around the arena tapping the person saying "your not very good at tag meo" punching them in the gut after doing this for a few minutes "Playing with these guys is boring meo". Shogi sighed " I hope I don't have to go against her." Freya destroyed her next opponent without using any magic just walked forward and slashed them down until they called the match. Shogi had no problems in his next match either as he slashed the person down quickly in an head on slash.
Zen walked up to the stage and was faced with a beastman that looked like a cheetah which was going to be a tough match because he could tell he was speed based. At the start they both sprinted towards the center but the Beastman was way faster "adante" said Zen but as he cast the speed debuff on the Beastman it seemed like he got even faster at this point the beastman was swinging throwing feints and slashing from every angle not even giving him the time to give himself a speed buff. With few slashes getting through he could tell the beastman was playing with him " Speed kills" Said the beastman laughing and slobbering in the wind Zen got annoyed saying "How annoying" Zen then covered the surface of the ring in shadows that spilled out of his palm like a miasma at a fast pace causing the Beastman to slowdown as zen dipped into the shadows appearing behind the beastman slashing which was blocked but to everyones surprise the beastmans crystal bracelet shattered. The crowd could not see this but Zen poured the remainder of his mana into his wooden sword sending electricity into it. When the beastman blocked with his Wooden sword he completed the circuit.
Zen walked away with a slight cough and a few bruises but in his hands he could see there was blood and his mana reserves were dry. Zen gritted his teeth knowing only monsters are left at this point. The headmaster sighed saying "its hard to believe these are just kids I have never had a class as special as this one and that boy.. fetch me his name and file. Anna walked up yawning saying "That was a good nap meow" her opponent walked forward and was wearing a robe and a mask. The headmaster stood up and made a gesture for everyone to quiet down. The headmaster began to speak " In society we have rules to regulate the natural order of things but in some cases the rules can be a sort of guidelines meant to be altered for the betterment of society. The one universal rule of every living being that worships their respective god or goddess is to assist the ones blessed to go on the hero's journey. These grounds are elven grounds we hold ourselves to a certain esteem meaning everyone inside our city is safe. With this being said.. Maximus take off your mask and robe" everyone gasped and people began to boo saying " How could you let the evil human dungbag in here" Headmaster Drakus infuriated stood up and said "Chronos" this spell froze everyone except the professors in time. Drakus started speaking again " Any ill acts towards him will not be accepted and as I said before he is an acception to the rule as he is of the hero class I understand the emotions everyone must feel but silence your heart and move forward. Failure to adhere to the rules will result in expulsion or worse depending on your crime or offense" Headmaster Drakus looked around "speak no more of this so we can get on with the evaluations" Headmaster Drakus waved his hand releasing them from his spell and everyone fell silent. "Carry on" said Headmaster Drakus as he sat down.
Anna pressed forward releasing her grip on the sword throwing it to the side as she prepared her claws looking to the headmaster for approval as he nodded she licked her claws. Maximus tied his hair back and tucked his amulet inside of his mask as he placed it off to the side. The two brace themselves awaiting the signal to begin.
