Chapter 8 - Trial

The situation in the sky was not Li Jun's concern and he did not have the ability to figure out what was really happening.

Since he was still a mortal, he had to act like one; in a way, it was staying in his place. The first stage of martial arts was not capable of suddenly transforming him into a stronger individual. It just seemed to be focused on allowing him to understand his internal body structure best.

The only way to persist on the path of martial arts was to see oneself making progress regardless of how slow it was.

In the train, even though it was shaking, Li Jun had taken Emily's words to heart and felt the train would not fall. If that were the case, the mounted weapons on the train should have already gone into motion, but that was not the case.

He then turned towards Yu Tu and said, "What is the excitement all for? I think you should probably wait until you have stepped on the immortal path before thinking of seeking trouble. The wilderness is not some place for NPCs like us to play around."

Listening to the words from Li Jun's mouth, not only Yu Tu but even Emily has her mouth twitching.

When did she become an NPC? But when she thought about it clearly, it was true.

For those in the martial arts stage, or even the evolution path, it was necessary to reach the third stage to actually have some ability to even love around in the wilderness with chances of survival.

The state they were in was too weak and they could not allow it. In rare cases, those in the second realm might be able to accomplish. Such people were considered the geniuses among geniuses, whose combat power went beyond the norm.

The reason that Emily did not refute was that she just realized all the students in the train were non-play characters in the current state of the world. It was also normal that, being students, they had to undergo some training before they would be allowed to go out and fight monsters.

When he calmed down, Li Jun could actually see through a lot of things.

Even though it seemed that all of this had happened a lifetime away, the sound of the female teacher still echoed in his ears.

"So something is wrong! No wonder I have been smelling something that is not right. Even though the train was shaking, it did not show any signs of falling over. It seems that from now on, it would be necessary to observe my surroundings clearly, other than listening to the words said by others." Li Jun had already come to the conclusion that things were not right.

When things are about to go wrong, it does not develop as though it were planned. The looks on some of the instructors did not seem to match the situation; they were not panicked at all.

"Indeed, after calming down, it is possible to see through a lot of things. This entire scene does not seem to meet an emergency situation at all. More importantly, why is almost everything changing from what my memories have?"

When he was still seeing the inconsistencies, something even more sudden happened.

Boom!

Most of the individuals standing were thrown from their original positions.

Then it descended into chaos; shouting and screaming could be heard from every corner of the train.

Li Jun, who had barely stabilized himself, looked around in confusion as he pulled himself off the ground. It was also at this point that he realized everything had descended into chaos.

"Yeah! This is how a room full of panicking teenagers should be." He thought to himself but did not join in the fun. His eyes landed on Emily and she just happened to be observing him.

Averting his gaze, he looked towards Yu Tu, who was clinging onto a metallic railing. His expression was a bit unnatural, as if wanting to cry, but he was still putting on a forced smile. In his face, there seemed to be three girls, and they were panicked, so he wanted to seem chill, but his legs were shaking.

When Emily followed his line of sight, the scene could be said to be comical and she could not hold back her laughter.

It was just that when he remembered the words used by the female instructor about the seven members in the group, he no longer found this funny. Perhaps Emily had also thought about it, and when she looked at the state of the three girls, she no longer found the scene comical.

She turned her head and glanced behind her, and such scenes were common, but in the extreme, as some had even wet themselves.

Li Jun was silent; this was probably because, unlike everyone else, he knew that some great danger existed in the starry skies, observing their planet every passing second. This alone was enough to dull his enthusiasm.

This halt to the train without even any notice perhaps was a bit too real or ended up making Li Jun come back to his senses.

"I can't use my analysis ability to underestimate situations; after all, humans are complex to begin with. Best to be careful from now on."

"Everyone exits through the emergency exits."

Looking to his right, the window had actually already been automatically pushed open.

"Move people!" This shout seemed to force him to come back to his senses and rush towards the opening.

When outside, he felt the primitive nature of the place and the sense of déjà vu was so intense.

"I remember the last time I visited the wilderness was to hunt monsters for resources. This time I entered this place too early. perhaps in the future, it will become even more difficult to guess how things turn around."

He thought to himself as he observed others jumping out anxiously. His eyes were calm and did not stay on everyone for long.

"Hey, Little Jun! You don't seem to be scared at all." Who else could it be if not Emily?

She was still having that attitude and treating him like a kid, even through this development.

He turned to observe her before he held back what he wanted to say.

But she saw through it, Yu Tu jumped out all hyped up, when he was about to say something, discovered Emily stomping her feet in anger, but her brother Li Jun was stretching as thought he had just woken up.

Yu Tu was secretly giving him a thumps up, but on the outside, he looked around, before looking into the sky and saying, "The moon is sure beautiful today!"

But he had yet to utter another sentence when he was interrupted, "What is good about the moon?"

When he saw the source of the sound, he smiled awkwardly, as he approached Li Jun slowly and secretly asked, "Brother! What have you done to offend the empress?"

"Do you think the empress can be offended and anyone still be alive to speak about it? Be careful, this might be a trap." Li Jun actually replied seriously as if he meant it. He was just trying to scare this young man that was still filled with passion and unaware of the dangers present in the wilderness.

Even though it was considered a short distance to move from this place to the destination, but it was impossible to take a straight route. Even the train did not move in that way, but regardless of what they thought, this was not something that could be changed.

Performance in this aspect might determine a lot, and that is the credit points, that each student needed when they entered a martial institute. In the case of those that have taken the immortal path, this was very important as they where considered very competitive.

For Li Jun and Emily Wu, regardless of the small number of points they gather it was still possible to retrieve some martial arts. Those on the path of evolution did not study martial arts in the same martial artists did, rather they utilized it as means to gain precise control over their bodies.

Martial artists used techniques to strengthen themselves, and it was even rumored that as long as the body of a high level martial artist is an excellent material for refining weapons.

The only problem is, since they have such tough bodies, how could they sit still and let others kill them.

For the path of evolution, it was all based upon cell division and martial arts is based upon exploration of secrets of the current body they posses, and slowly excavate them.

Ignoring Yu Tu, Li Jun was actually breathing in and out, with his eyes sweeping around in the distant darkness. With his calm actions, he was not even aware that he had made Yu Tu beside him relax too.

Then they heard the sound of a woman making some yelling noises.

boom!

The sound of falling followed next, and looking at the exit, another two women where standing at the window ready to jump at anytime.
