Chapter 1 - First breath.

Corllion, was born into one of the last remaining royal high grey elf families. His future as the third born male child was predetermined before he ever took his first steps or spoke his first words.

Little did anyone suspect that Fate, had other plans for young corllion.

( Far away from corllion's home in the high elf city, in a pocket dimension created by a powerful magi,

Fate watched a baby elf take his first breath and a his lips curled into a smile, nothing escaped his watchful gaze, those eyes when observed by other beings lucky enough to life to tell the tale would say they look like a galaxy filled with stars.

Fate spoke his first words aloud in over two hundred years,

This one might show promise, with a nudge in the proper direction. ( a low chuckle also escaped Fates lips before he waved his hand and dismissed the magic that was powering the scrying device).

Other beings across the reams and even other planes of existence, took note of a change that occurred the moment young corllion took his first breath.

For some this change instantly brought hope , others it spoke of a potential doom that would occur.. high atop a hidden peak of a mountain in a few removed and remote mountain range a Entity, best know as wisdom, also took note .

Not of the child but of a strong emotion coming from a old colleague and sometime rival but never a enemy .

What are you up to now, Fate? Wisdom thought to herself!

Wisdom waved her left hand and in a manner most would have though was a muscle spasm that made the hand dance uncontrollably,

An invisible wave of power left her body and crossed the incalculable distance in the amount of time to took to form a thought and shielded young corllion from all the powerful scrying that where taking place , trying to locate the source of this disturbance, That was felt nearly everywhere.

Only Fate's observation was uninterrupted.

~~

The life span of the elven race if un augmented by magic spell or device, is around 1200-1500 years.

As with most elf's due there natural atunment to the arcane arts, this is mearly the begining.

Most double that time before they are even 700 years old.

With this longevity, normally a more relaxed and calm nature are corn er stones of there personality's. With so much time to learn and experience things , Impulsiveness, it's not the norm for the Elven race.

Impulsive!!! This is the term that all young corllions Tutors used to describe him. But most had to add the footnote. (he had a voracious appetite for knowledge.) and not just his normal studies.

It seemed that he wanted to know everything there was to know about everything.

Particularly the realms and races outside the borders of the high elven kingdom.

Since he was a third born son, The likelihood of him, assuming the throne one day was very minuscule.

So tutors and instructors were selected to guide him into the path of becoming a holy man.

In his father's eyes, the air to the throne would rule the kingdom. His second born son would be the emissary to the elven Council.

Corllion Would be the spiritual leader of the people!!

~~

Corllion didn not wish to have his entire existence, given over to the devine pursuit of holy devotion. He wished to explore the world, and live the life of an adventurer like the tales chronicled in the history books his tutors in the martial and arcane arts would have him read from to gain insight and knowledge when a lesson would deem it necessary or appropriate to drive a point home. It was not unknown to these sage teacher, that young corllion was focusing on the epic dangers that Were pened , as a hight to attain and not the almost ever present dangers of failure.

~~~
Corllions father Elistan the King was fit to be tied.
Why does he keep insisting to head down this path? He asked to no one in particular.
It was clear no matter how many tutors he replaced for his son, and with strict instructions to guild him to a Scholarly approach his arcane and martial training, it somehow always drifted back to a hands on application of these two Disciplines.
All said past teachers where highly regarded and Sought after instructors in there given Realms of expertise. They knew how to teach and had been doing so for Centuries.
And to hear them explain it to the king and his court of advisors, for some reason the lessons start as planes and always in one way or another would drift into the realm of practical application. None of Corllions other tutors has this issue. One failed instructor stated before being dismissed said , sure it must just be Fate!!
Far far away Fate chuckled to himself thinking it was such a easy thing to constantly make the teachers always drift to the stories that would ignite that desire to adventure and explore.
The King, spent many hours and days trying to figure out why no matter what it seemed his third born son Was destined to become a Bladesinger!!!
After repeating this cycle for one hundred years, on Corllion's birthday celebrating his second century of life, the King the night before had a person brought to the palace, in the dark of night.
A private meeting was held in a hidden room with the king and this shadowy person.
King Elistan, it is my honor to finally meet you. And I thank my lord for allowing my meager guild to continue to exist, within the borders of your realm.
Guild master Avostad, let us cut through the pleasantries, I know full well even if I dispatched the entire third army , cavalry and my personal royal guard, you and your guild would one disappear in the night without a trace, or you would destroy over seventy percent of the forces sent against you before I could get you to budge out of your chosen hideout. So let's get to the matter at hand.
No matter the direction I have tried to steer, the prince, my third son , it seams Fate or destiny have other plans for him.
Avostad, thought to himself, please don't invoke those two old meddlesome entities.
Why do you say that site?
Elistan, went on to explain, about the curious happenings with the instructors , and how only those two disciplines where affected.
Again Guild master Avostad, though to himself, sounds more like Fate, has been up to his old tricks.
Destiny operated differently. Allowing the future to unfold naturally. Instead Avostad asked , sire may we scry the prince and have a look at him.
The king, grimaced and stated that for some reason the prince for the earliest days no method of scrying ever word when it came to the prince.
This instantly sparked Avostad's Curiosity, counting back lining up the time and coming to a quick conclusion of his own. He thought to himself, could this be the disturbance two centuries ago? That would mean another powerful entity was also at play in the future welfare of this crown prince.
