Chapter 19 - High-speed racing

"Is it the casino sending people to protect you?"

Chou Ping almost lost control of the car, glanced at the girl beside him, and said, "Lucy, are you too naive? If you were the one running the casino, and I won so much money, would you send a car to protect me?"

Lucy covered her mouth in astonishment. Since it wasn't for protection, the other possibility could be revenge or even robbery.

"Chou, did you win so much money by cheating?"

Chou Ping pointed to his head, "No, I rely on memory. Haven't you forgotten? I mentioned before, can time be reset..."

Lucy obviously didn't believe this reason. Unable to contain her anxiety, she looked at the car behind them and asked, "If that's the case, will they catch up and kill us?"

Chou Ping calmly said, "They can't catch up with me."

With the roar of the powerful engine, Chou Ping had already accelerated to 150 miles per hour, equivalent to over 200 kilometers per hour.

Even so, a car was still closely following them, proving that it wasn't an ordinary Ford; it was modified, and the driver was skilled.

"Chou, but what if they catch up?"

"Chou, how about you stop the car and let me get off? I can try to stop them. They don't know me; they probably won't bother me." Lucy suggested.

Although driving, Chou Ping couldn't help but be surprised by Lucy's willingness to confront the threatening casino pursuers, considering they had only met for two days.

"Don't worry, babe. Didn't I tell you? My time can be reset. Even if I get caught, as long as we get through today, my time will still go back to Friday morning."

"Chou, are you not lying to me?"

While Chou Ping was driving the powerful car on the highway, the two Ford cars behind were in hot pursuit.

"Damn it, David, can you go faster?"

"Shit! James, why don't you try? If I were driving a Lamborghini like you, that guy would have been caught long ago!"

James awkwardly smiled, "You're right..."

At this moment, a nearly 90-degree turn appeared ahead. If they slowed down, the cars behind would catch up.

Chou Ping muttered to himself, "It's time to show some real skills!"

He had tried drifting before, but it was at low speeds and not as thrilling as now.

Maintaining speed, when the car reached the bend, Chou Ping tapped the brakes, simultaneously shifted gears down, and turned the steering wheel in the opposite direction, all in one smooth motion.

However, to Chou Ping's embarrassment, it seemed like he pressed the brakes too hard. The car, after skidding, came to a stop at the edge of the road.

The Ford behind them approached rapidly. Excited David effortlessly demonstrated a skillful drift.

The stark contrast in driving skills was evident. If not for the outstanding performance of Chou Ping's car, he would have been caught already.

The Ford smoothly passed the bend. Seeing the Lamborghini left behind, David noticed, "David, they stopped!"

After such a perfect drift, they should have stepped on the gas and secured a victory. However, David was frustrated. He only had James as an audience.

Moreover, James seemed oblivious to David's impressive skill, as his attention was fixed on the distant Aventador.

"No problem, we just need to wait for him here."

"Damn it, that idiot actually turned around!"

With James' exclamation, David was startled. He quickly looked through the rearview mirror.

"Damn it, this cunning guy!"

David slapped the steering wheel and hurriedly turned around to chase, cursing, "James, hold on tight. Today, I will catch this guy and break his legs!"

Boom!

The Ford roared painfully, like a frenzied rhino bursting forward. Inside the Lamborghini, Chou Ping whistled, wanting to applaud his quick thinking.

But before he could enjoy it, Lucy, still like a frightened kitten, pointed at the rearview mirror and screamed again, "Chou, they catch up!"

Chou Ping subconsciously glanced at the rearview mirror, his face changing slightly. "Damn, is this guy a dog?"

The Ford, which had been left behind, gradually caught up, clearly showing an attitude of not giving up without reaching its goal.

At this moment, Lucy pointed ahead again, letting out a piercing scream. In front of them, a colossal truck suddenly appeared, and Chou Ping widened his eyes.

The truck was enormous, spanning almost half the road, leaving a very narrow space for passing.

Under normal circumstances, overtaking wouldn't be a problem; just slow down, and it's done. But now, there wasn't time for that. Chou Ping bit his lip and made a decision.

"Lucy, do you believe me?"

"Huh? What?" Lucy was a bit bewildered.

Instead of slowing down, Chou Ping pressed the accelerator to the floor, a hint of madness in his eyes. "I want to see if you guys are afraid of death!"

"Ah!"

As the massive truck approached, Lucy was scared, covering her eyes and screaming.

Through the rearview mirror, Chou Ping also saw the Ford behind them swiftly making a turn, the car rushing into the desert.

Chou Ping finally released the accelerator, stepped on the brake, and, accompanied by a screeching noise, the tires gripped the ground tightly.

Gah... The driver of the colossal truck also hit the brakes in time, and at the critical moment, he stopped the truck.

"Shit, you idiot Shit, are you looking for death? If I hadn't stopped, you would have been crushed to pieces!"

Bang! A sudden gunshot startled the driver who had just cursed, forcing him to retract his head.

The gunshot came from the two people who had just gotten off the Ford; they were rapidly approaching.

"Hold on tight!"

Chou Ping quickly shifted to reverse, floored the gas pedal, and the Aventador

 roared back, rapidly distancing itself.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Several more gunshots echoed. Two bullets hit the car, making a sound like shattering porcelain.

However, against the Aventador's rapid retreat, the two handguns were useless. David and James could only helplessly watch the Aventador vanish into the distance.

Their car was now stranded in the desert, with starting it being a problem, let alone catching up with the other side.

David angrily threw the gun in the direction of the disappearing Aventador, cursing, "Shit, lunatic, that guy is simply a lunatic!"

James muttered to himself, "Doesn't he fear death? The two cars almost collided!"
