Chapter 20 - Be a savior

Retracting his gaze, David shook his head. "I have to admit, in terms of psychological resilience, this guy is more suited to be a race car driver than I am. It's a pity."

"Are you lamenting that he didn't become a race car driver, or are you lamenting that we didn't catch him?" James asked.

David gave James a wry look; deep down, he was conflicted about what he was truly lamenting.

At this moment, Chou Ping, who had successfully evaded pursuit, had turned back to normal driving on the road.

The car blared with lively and explosive music, and Chou Ping and Lucy laughed heartily without a care in the world.

"Chou, you're amazing!" Lucy couldn't help but grab Chou Ping's arm and exclaimed. If they were in a different place, she might have already pounced on him.

"Darling, haven't I always been this amazing?" Chou Ping hinted with a smirk.

"Well, um... yesterday the bathroom was just too cramped, so I thought we could..." Lucy blushed.

Chou Ping's mouth curled into a mischievous smile. "The bathroom was indeed inconvenient. How about today we use the open sky as our blanket and the ground as our bed? That way, you should be able to fully unleash yourself, right?"

Lucy's cheeks turned bright red, and she bit her lip, nodding slightly. "As long as you like it."

Chou Ping remained silent, continuing to drive until he spotted a small road and turned into it. As the sky gradually darkened over the boundless wilderness, a bright red Lamborghini rhythmically vibrated on the open field.

Honestly, this was Chou Ping's first firsthand experience of making love in car , but the space inside the supercar was too cramped. Not long after, the two figures entwined together were undulating and swaying on the nearby grass.

An hour later, the conspicuous bright red Lamborghini parked on the roadside near Chou Ping's apartment.

Before long, a silver-gray Buick sedan also pulled over...

Chou Ping patted Lucy, who was still daydreaming, "Darling, do you believe what I said?"

Wide-eyed, Lucy replied, "Are you going to tell me again that you can restart time, dear? Are you God? It's just too incredible; I can't imagine it!"

Chou Ping remained noncommittal and pointed to the Buick sedan, "See that car? A robber wearing black stockings is about to come out. His target is that fast-food restaurant."

Lucy turned her head, puzzled, and observed the car. Just as Chou Ping described, a person came out, wearing black stockings on the head, and then looked around before heading towards the fast-food restaurant. It was identical to what Chou Ping had said.

Chou Ping began counting down, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel, "1, 2, 3, bang!"

With the last word, a gunshot echoed from the fast-food restaurant. Subsequently, the sound of falling ceiling, people's screams, and the robber's roar followed.

Lucy gulped nervously, staring at Chou Ping in disbelief. "Dear, are you sure you didn't arrange all of this?"

Chou Ping shrugged, calmly saying, "Darling, what benefits do you think I'll gain from orchestrating all of this?"

Lucy hesitated for a moment, then grabbed Chou Ping's hand, "Alright, I believe you. But now, we should hurry and call the police."

"No problem, my sweetheart!"

Chou Ping took out his phone and dialed the emergency number. After hanging up, Lucy, brimming with excitement, dove into Chou Ping's embrace, whispering, "Dear, I want it, with the police coming, it must be thrilling!"

As a man, how could he refuse? Thus, the rhythmic vibration of the bright red Lamborghini resumed.

The police in this neighborhood, quickly arrived at the fast-food restaurant.

While Chou Ping and Lucy were engaging in their preferred activities, Chou Ping cast a glance towards the restaurant, confident that the people inside should be thanking him at this moment.

Because he timely reported to the police, they wouldn't have to eat burgers until they vomited.

When the still-shaken people emerged from the fast-food restaurant, Chou Ping and Lucy also concluded their delightful encounter.

After a brief rest, Chou Ping casually found a Western restaurant, indulged in a hearty meal, and generously rewarded the excited waiter.

After finishing the steak, Chou Ping took Lucy to the main street for a lavish shopping spree because everything would reset after midnight.

Finally, Chou Ping and Lucy arrived at a five-star hotel, booking the most expensive suite.

"Wow, this place is so beautiful!" Lucy exclaimed upon entering.

Chou Ping opened his arms, embraced Lucy, and whispered in her ear, "Darling, tonight, this place belongs to us!"

"Dear, can I take a bath first? Of course... if you're willing, we can do it together?" Lucy lowered her head, shyly saying.

Chou Ping solemnly replied, "Since you earnestly request it, I reluctantly agree!"

After Lucy, exhausted and with a sweet smile, fell into a deep sleep, Chou Ping sat up on the edge of the bed. Checking the time, it was getting closer to midnight.

As the hour, minute, and second hands were about to overlap on the number twelve, Chou Ping felt his eyelids grow heavy. In his mind, a voice echoed: "Time restarts, forty-eight hours. Even in death, an immediate reset will occur!"

After the cold voice faded away, Chou Ping couldn't resist the overwhelming drowsiness and fell into a deep slumber.

At nine in the morning, the cuckoo's call rang punctually.

Opening his eyes, looking at the familiar surroundings, Chou Ping had grown accustomed to this morning after experiencing it so many times.

Stretching lazily, he rolled out of bed, not bothering with his appearance this time. He quickly put on the clothes on the bedside, grabbed a pack of tissues, and rushed out.

Down the stairs, Chou Ping used tissues to wrap up the disgusting mess and threw it into the nearby trash can to prevent it from deceiving anyone else.

Checking his watch, 9:05 AM. About five hundred meters away was the next intersection. While straightening his clothes, Chou Ping jogged towards it.

If the African-American driver hadn't been mistaken, there were about nine minutes left until the accident.

For Chou Ping, who was originally tight on funds, exercising was a cost-effective and healthy hobby. Therefore, the five hundred meters were a breeze for him.

Three minutes later, Chou Ping arrived at the intersection. Glancing left and right, there was no sight of the little girl.

Chou Ping waited for a while, and soon, a girl with braids was happily skipping towards the intersection.

Judging by her hurried appearance, she was likely running late for school.

The girl got closer to Chou Ping, and the time approached 9:12 AM.

At this moment, Chou P
