Ice is much more complicated than I thought, especially when it comes to making ice that won't melt for a short period of time.
Andri continuously comment on how my mana wasn't dense enough to shield it from any heat. And when I did increase my mana density, it shatters, making Andri comment on how I put too much mana.
It has been like this for a week.
I can't believe time flies just like that. I swore that I was just start training my ice magic yesterday. I guess too focus on magic training and no improvement made time flies very fast.
"No improvement at all....." I was wondering how long did it took me to finally face my first roadblock. Sure, my mana-kinesis training takes time, but everyday, it shows improvement, even for a little bit. But, this is the first time that my training has no improvement.
"Matt, this technique isn't a simple magic you can learn. It took time." Andri sits on top of my shoulders.
"I know, but still..." I can't help but feel frsutrated. "What kind of training that shows zero improvement?"
"A training that might took 3 years to accomplish." I almost slip as I heard that. 3 years!?! It's that difficult. "Yes, it's that difficult."
"Huh...." I guess I still got ton of things to learn about magic. I decided to sit down on the nearby rock before rubbing my arms. I can't help but wonder, why did I feel less cold despite the fact that it's winter.
"Magic users has an automatic temperature regulator thanks to the mana heart. Mana heart always react automatically when the users are in grave danger, either from attack or dangerous climates." Right, I forgot he has a pseudo-mind reading ability.
"You know that mana always changes their type of energy, right?" I nodded. "Well, it happens in your body too. They continuously converts themselve to energy for your body, especially when you're hungry, exhausted, sick, or in dangerous climates. So, you got to be careful, taking care of yourself so you won't spend all of your mana and fell to mana exhaustion."
Shit, to think mana has that kind of mechanism. I guess magic users have their own Achilles' heels. Note to self, overwork is not recommended.
"Hey, cheer up, Matt. You won't have to worry about it. Your mana capacity and control is great for a kid your age, so you won't experience such thing." I smiled at Andri before petting him causing him to purr.
Gosh, this spirit won't stop warming my heart.
"By the way, Matt. I heard from your mom that you invent an alternate way to use magic. What does she mean by that?" Huh, I didn't expect that question from Andri.
"Well, maybe she's talking about how I summon water out of thin air without using too much mana?" Andri didn't specify his sentence, so I'm not exactly fully understand what he said.
"Can you show me?" I agreed before starting to convert the surrounding snows into water.
"If it's other season, I usually use water vapour." I said before the water start to freeze.
".....you're lucky that water spirits exists." Water spirit?
"What do you mean?" I can't help but asked.
"You know that the world has a lot of water, right?" Yeah, I mean 70% of the planet is water. Or maybe it's different here? "Water spirits exists not just to keep the water from being polluted, but they also regulates them, by fixing any anomaly in climates."
Wait....does that mean-!?
"Yes, if you constantly turns water vapour to water, you can ruin the climates if its not for the water spirits. You're very lucky." I can't help but gulp nervously.
I'm avoid finding alternative waves for now on.
"But, still, it's an impressive feat." Andri commented. "I guess being a reincarnator has its perks." I cough at the sudden statement. He knew!?
"Yup. Your spirit isn't exactly hiding that fact, especially when there's a sign of god making contact with you before you reborned." Okay, so Anubis hugging me making me a huge walking target. Is there anything I need to know? "Reincarnators always have soul with shapes that doesn't fit their current mortal body, like your soul resembling a teenager inside a child's body."
Is that why my mana capacity is higher than normal child?
"Don't mistaken your mana with aura!! I don't need another people believing 'aura is mana'!" Andri yelled out of nowhere, caught me off guard.
"Andri, calm down! I don't know much about mana, and has zero knowledge of aura! It was a speculation!" I frantically try to calm Andri down. I guess some people took offense if there's person think aura and mana are the same.
"So, you're saying that aura is based on your own spirit." Andri nodded while looking annoyed.
"Yes, so please.....don't mistook them for the same thing again."
"Okay, buddy. I'm still learning about this world." I said as Andri land on my head.
"By the way, did the god that reincarnate you left you a gift?" I simply shrugged.
"I'm not sure. Maybe he let me have higher mana capacity? I did hear a bit about a gift from him before I awake as a baby, but I don't know what is it." Andri nodded.
"Oh, well. You're still a skilled mage for your age." Please, if struggling against controlling orbs counts as skilled mage, then people in this world has low standards. "You moron. You're only 3 years old! Stop thinking you could do better than adults! It's like comparing an ant with a lion! You still have room to grow!"
Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Stop hitting my head!!
He finally stopped as he sits down on my head and resting.
"You know, you'll going to need to tell your parents about this." Andri suddenly spoke.
"...I rather not." I mutters.
"Trust me, you need to tell them some day. If they find out, it'll only complicate things." Andri suddenly more insistent.
"I'll made sure they won't." I refuted.
"Damn it, Matt. An accident or possible event isn't something you can predict! You can take precaution, but sooner or later, that moment will happen! Just like the natural order, especially death!" I hesitated. Andri has a right point, but.....
Clang!
I blinked before I saw a capsule rolling towards us. My subconscious screamed at me as gas erupted from the capsule. The moment I breath some of them, my body feel lightweighted.
"Matt!!! .....!! Soul Hunters.....!!" I could only hear Andri scream as his voice slowly get muffled. The last thing I saw before fall unconscious are few people with thug-like appreance grabbing cages and ropes while walking towards me.
Fuck...
