New day, new start! I seriously wants to learn more about magic! I'm bouncing myself right now!! I'm so excited, I could die!!
Okay, Matt, calm down. You're suppose to relax, Matt, control yourself.
Oh, right! I should get some fruits!
Thankfully, the fruits didn't place on high shelf or else I need to climb it. I watch too many animes/cartoons to know how much of a terrible idea that is.
I place two apples and an orange on a plate before placing it in front of Anubis' mini statue.
"Lord Anubis, I offer you some of the village's harvest as a thank you." I clap my hand together before closing my eyes and pay my respect. To my shock, the apples and orange disappear in a black smoke before the ashes took a shape.
'Thank you.'
I beam before finishing my prayer. After finishing, I clean off the ashes from the floor and the plate before walk back to the kitchen and placing the plate on the dishes.
"Matt." Mom stare at me with smile as she summons fire using magic, all without chanting.
Awesome! That means it is available for everyone, cool!
"Mom, what's for today's lesson!?!" My excitement get the better of me as mom chuckles.
"I decided that mana control will be the main lesson for you." Mom said before sipping her tea. "From what I saw, you have incredible amount of mana for someone your age, but you don't have any control of it, causing your mana to depleted faster."
I gave her a faux confused look. I'm not going to tell her I have life 18 years of life experience to her, it'll gave her a heart attack.
"I mean, you have a lot of mana, but you use it too much for your magic. We'll learn how to use less but the spell remains powerful." I nodded at her simplified explanation.
"Can I help with farming again?" I couldn't help but asked.
"Sure, but don't grow another tomato plant and fainted again." I blush in embarrassment. I have a feeling mom won't let me live it down.
----------------------------------------------------------
Okay, I seriously hates harvesting potatoes. Why is it so hard!? Is it due to me being a child!?!?
Then again, I need to uprooted the plant just to harvest it. And damn, those shits are heavy as fuck!!!
I sigh as I help mom to plant the last potato bud into the ground. I was only able to harvest three potato plants and plant 5 potato buds before every potatoes were harvested and all popato buds were planted.
There were only 5 people and there's around 2 hectare worth of field! How in the world did they do this!?!? Are they accessing Aura to increase their strengths and speed and using magic to harvests and plants the potato?!
If so, damn! This village is much impressive than I imagine.
"You did a great job, Matt." Mom said with a smile before patting my head.
"You guys cheating." I pouted as mom chuckles.
"You notice, huh? We do use Aura to fasten our harvesting process and we even use magic to assist the farm." Mom chuckles as I pouted even more. "Some day, you'll be as good as them, even possibly surpass them."
"Really?" I stop pouting while looking at her as she nods.
"Young generations always surpass the old one, Matt." Mom rubs my cheeks gently.
"You're not old, mom." I stated as mom laugh and hugs me. I never get tired of hugs from her.
"So, how's the champ?" Dad walks towards us as I smiled widely. He immediately approach me and hugs me. "I can't believe my son is amazing, such young age and already decided to help us!" Dad nuzzled my cheek as I laugh while mom chuckles.
"So cute!"
"Look at them, they're so happy!"
"I wanna pinch his cheeks, the son is so cute!!"
"They're really lucky, to give birth such beautiful and kindhearted son."
"And having access to Nature elements as well, I bet he'll go far."
I feel my face turns warm as I overheard the villagers commented at me. I'm so glad they didn't brought kids while saying such things. With their mindsets, they'll get jealous and hate me for it.
Dad place me on the seat before kissing mom as she give him his lunch box. I swear, I never get use to any sort of public display of affection. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but it never stop making me feel awkward, and I don't know why!!!!
"Dear, what's your plan on teaching mana control to Matt?" Dad asked mom, which she pulls out several marbles from her pocket. She gave me one as I took it.
"Now, Matt, I need you to pour some mana into the orb and move the orb by thinking. Don't use it too much." I nodded before accessing the mana from my heart and pour some of it to the orb. Much to my shock, it shattered.
Okay, so I need less mana.
Mom chuckles as I blushed. Mom probably knows this will happens, maybe that's why she brought several of them with her.
"Here." I nodded again before trying again, and again, it shatters.
I try 3 more and it still shatters. Mom asked me to continue to try again and again as it would help to control my mana, so I didn't give up.
After another 5 broke, the next one finally didn't break, and I was happy.
"Great job, Matt. Now, try to move it." I nodded happily and I was so eager to move it.
It break.
The orb breaks just by moving.
.....
OH, COME ON!!!!!!
I let myself sit at the corner, wailing dramatically and complains 'why?' over and over again. Mom seeing my overdramatic display burst out laughing with dad joined in.
"It's okay, Matt. Mana control isn't something magicians learn at this early, and you manage to do the first half is a great feat." I look at her in confusion.
"Mana is easier to use when you simplu pour it into your spells, but controlling it requires a lot of focus." Mom explained.
"It's like pouring water from a jar. It's easy to just pour it to the ground, and it's a bit harder to pour water from jar to a glass." That make sense. It's easy to waste resource but it's hard to control the urge to spend everything. "So, don't be sad about it, okay champ?"
I nodded, a bit satisfied at their encouraging words. Magic isn't something you can master at a day, and I gotta be patient.
"Matt, look." I look at where mom is pointing and widen my eyes as multiple glowing green orbs floating around the sky.
"What is that?" I asked in awe.
"Those are nymphs. Spirit fairies resides in the forest. Whenever they came, they will visit our crops and vitalize our crops for a better harvest results. In exchange, they will eat some of them to replenish their strength. And since they're all have small appetite, we're not bothered by it." Dad explained.
"And it looks like they love your tomato plant, Matt." I look at where the tomato plant I grow and I couldn't believe my eyes. The amount of nymphs surrounding the plant will made everyone mistaken it as christmas tree.
As they finally vitalize every crops around the field, I look back at the tomato plant. I widen my eyes before apporaching it and pick up one of the tomato.
The tomato somehow is gold instead of the normal one.
"I guess you're the lucky one who receive the nymph's blessing." I look to see mom smiling at me. "Anyone who gots a gold colored crops are said to be blessed with luck by the nymphs."
I stare at the tomato in awe. This made me happier, seeing that there are more amazing things we could discover about this world.
