Chereads / Mariel: The Goddess of War / Chapter 59 - Failure.

Chapter 59 - Failure.

After the incident at the Covenant Room had passed, they made their training schedule and allocated approximately 2 - 3 hours per day to rent a simulation room for groups of male or female students who would like to practice together. Mariel's group took the initiative to improve their teamwork even further.

Inside this simulation room, there are 10 magic pedestals and created demons from magic for fighting to improve their skills even further.

Mariel stood in front of the team, as for Beatrix and Mania, they stood at the back, providing additional support for magic attacks and healing.

"I'm ready. Are you ready?" Mariel held the Dragon Slayer Sword in her right hand, asked and checked her two friends again.

"Always ready." Beatrix said.

"Ready!" Mania said.

"Then let's go!" Mariel shouted. Then, nearly 30 different types of monsters, such as golems, orcs, and goblins, appeared in front of them, along with magic platforms that shot fire, water, and ice magic to them.

Mariel fearlessly soared into battle against many monsters, she used fire, wind, water, and ice magic combined with the Dragon Slayer Sword. She had continuously caused damage to monsters. Beatrix tried to block the magic from the platform as much as she could and helped to shoot down some of the monsters that surrounded Mariel too. Mania focused on healing Mariel, who was moving so fast that she could hardly focus on her friend because if she had distracted just a little, she could heal mistake. Moreover, it also accidentally heals monsters too.

"Missed again!" Mania complained as she was slow to catch Mariel's quick and agile movements. Her healing rate was successful only 5 times out of 15 in a round. In Beatrix's result, she had no errors in her practice.

"Be careful. You healed the monster in front of me again." Mariel reminded Mania as the monster recovered and attacked her again.

"I'm sorry." Mania quickly apologized and tried to do better.

"Don't be careless, Mania. This is just the first stage of training. When you practice with me, I don't have to move much. But with Mariel, her movements were much faster than mine. You could try not to make mistakes." Beatrix warned.

Several hours passed after the first day of teamwork practice. The results turned out to be quite disappointing because when they tried to fight in a realistic model, they did not perform as well as they should have. Mariel has wounds all over her body. As for Beatrix, she missed many shots because she had to worry about Mariel not being mobbed enough. She also had to keep an eye on Mania in case she gets caught in the crossfire from a monster attack. As for Mania, she was very disappointed in herself for not being able to support her friends good enough. Both Mariel and Beatrix continue to console and encourage Mania because they believe that their team is perfect. All that's left is to find more time to practice than before.

"That's enough for today. Everything doesn't seem quite as it should be." Beatrix said.

"Sorry, I wasn't good enough," Mania said, keeping her head down and not looking at her friends.

"We just started practicing seriously today. Don't think too much, let's practice more after this." Mariel tried to console everyone.

They returned to their room, took a shower, changed clothes, then cooked dinner together and did the homework that had given during morning class. It took time until almost midnight because they had to research from many textbooks. When everything was finished, they all slept, exhausted. But there was one person who couldn't sleep because there were many thoughts in her head. So, she woke up, got dressed and left the room in the middle of the night without telling anyone. That person was Mania.

Mania's mental state right now is down because she made both friends disappointed with today's teamwork practice. So, she aims to secretly practice alone more often to develop her skills even further.

Mania arrived in the simulation room and picked out the training program that they had practiced today by using magic to create clones of Mariel and Beatrix. Mania personally replaces herself in the system, she became the healer and supporting clones of her two friends as they fight monsters over and over.

"Alright, let's get started!" Mania said. The system immediately began to simulate today's battle again. Mania held onto her healing staff and began to heal Mariel's clone, who immediately attacked the monsters.

"Missed! Let's do it again." Mania said, shaking her head in disappointment after just re-healing the golem monster that was fighting Mariel.

"Again! Why did I always make mistake?" Mania blamed herself several more times for still making mistakes in healing her teammates.

"You forgot to cast another spell to restore magic power. Why did I be so careless?" Mania said with disappointment, causing Beatrix in her clone to reprimand her with her eyes because she forgot to cast a spell to restore Beatrix's magic power, and this caused Mariel's support magic attacks to be interrupted too.

The training session finished in 2 hours, after which the system restored the data. Mariel's, Beatrix's clone and all the monsters disappeared.

Clang*

The sound of a magic wand being thrown onto the ground made a loud noise.

"Why can't I just do it? There are only 3 members in this party, but I still failed. If I can't do this, in the future when there are more than 5 people in a party, will I be able to support them all? Will it cause the team to lose?" Mania said in desperation.

Many days passed, Mariel and Beatrix noticed that Mania looked tired, and it seemed that she hadn't gotten enough sleep, which made them very worried.

"Is something wrong? You look very tired, Mania." Mariel said with concern.

"Don't blame yourself. We keep practicing together and we'll get better at it. Sometimes I may not speak very kindly to you. However, we are a team and I believe you will be able to do it." Beatrix said.

They were standing in front of the classroom while consoling each other, Elizabeth suddenly walked by, and she looked at them and guessed something.

"Vice Principal Elizabeth, good afternoon." Mariel greeted as she saw Elizabeth approaching them while other 2 friends also said the same as her.

"Good afternoon, I'm here to tell you about the second mission. It will start in the next 3 days at 10 PM, so prepare yourself. Don't get busy, Mariel." Elizabeth explained the details of the mission.

"Understood. I will prepare myself and do my best as well." Mariel promised with a smile on her face.

"Very good." Elizabeth praised, glancing at Mania, who was standing still, avoiding her eyes.

"Is something wrong? Mania. Why are you avoiding me?" Elizabeth asked curiously.

"No, it's nothing." Mania said with a worried expression.

"Well, see you later." Elizabeth said as she left from Mariel group, but she turned to look at Mania with a questioning expression on her face.

"In front of Elizabeth, who has long been known to be a top support class in the healer. So, it made me feel nervous." Mania explained to others the reason for this.

"We understand, but one day you might be as skilled as Miss Elizabeth. Let's practice more together." Mariel encouraged.

"After eating lunch. Let's continue practicing." Beatrix said.

"Okay!" the other two friends said at the same time.

They continued to train together, but Mania's support was still disappointing. Although she had improved, she still failed to heal many times causing Mariel's attacks to stall for several rounds. However, they still support Mania because at least she is trying her best to keep improving herself.

Tonight, Mania woke up in the middle of the night to practice alone as usual. Although the training this time was still not as satisfactory to her as it should have been, at least the speed of her hand movements starting to follow Mariel's movements better than last time.

"I failed again. Why can't I do it?" Mania cried out in disappointment. She collapsed to the ground before throwing her own healing staff far away as the healer made a mistake and healed the monster again. The simulation system stopped for a moment.

Suddenly, there was the sound of someone's footsteps slowly approaching from behind a dark corner at the entrance to the covenant room where the light couldn't reach.

"Who are you?" Mania asked but there was no response from the other person.

The figure slowly bent down and picked up Mania's healing staff and walked closer and closer until she could see the clothes that she was wearing from below to above, making it clear who this person was.

"Vice Principal Elizabeth!" Mania said in shock because she did not expect that this person could be her.

"The Healing Staff is the most important thing for any healer. Don't throw it away." Elizabeth said, handing the healing staff back to Mania with a slight reproach on her face.

"I'm sorry. I won't do it again." Mania apologized and took the healing staff back into her own hands.

"Crying won't make anything better. Stop crying." Elizabeth said, wiping away tears with unprecedented concern.

"How did you know that I secretly came to practice alone in the covenant room? " Mania asked.

"Just by looking into your eyes during the daytime, I know what it means. It's a specific skill: reading people's minds." Elizabeth said.

"Does Miss Elizabeth know this skill too? Normally, it would take a long time to reach the highest level." Mania asked because this technique was quite difficult to complete. The people must have concentration and practice advanced Qi Energy to read into another's thoughts. It's like secretly peeping into the thoughts of the other person, which will give you a huge advantage in battle. But the disadvantage is that it will reduce your concentration in fighting too.

"To supervise Principal Hector's behavior. This old man acted like a child and often made me got headaches. If you don't know what Hector is thinking, it will be difficult to deal with him." Elizabeth complained, causing Mania to laugh.

"It's like Miss Elizabeth is an elderly probationer." Mania said.

"It's harder than taking care of a child." Elizabeth said.

After that, they talked about many things until they began to develop a good relationship without realizing it.

"Miss Elizabeth seems very disciplined and strict about the rules, but I never imagined that talking together would be this fun." Mania said.

"If I don't reprimand or punish the students who break the rules, the school won't be able to govern these groups because everyone must be under the same rules. If you don't follow this, serious problems will happen later. Just like Principal Hector secretly took your friend: Mariel goes on his first mission. So, I instructed and punished Principal Hector because otherwise he would secretly do it again. Normally, I would always be an accompanying person because there might be danger to the students, as happened in the past. So, you can see what I instructed to the students because I only wants everyone to be good students." Elizabeth explained in detail.

"Miss Elizabeth is very respectful." Mania said with a smile.

"Compliment me like this makes me feel nervous." Elizabeth said, smiling back lightly.

After discussing many miscellaneous things, Elizabeth immediately got to the main point.

"So, you're having trouble healing your friends?" Elizabeth asked.

"Yes, Mariel has very fast movements. There were many times when I couldn't heal my friend or accidentally healed monsters. Mariel's attacks wasted much time because she had to fight against monsters." Mania said with a sad expression.

"No wonder you still healed like that. When I was a child of your same age, I make mistakes too, but don't worry because this time I'll show you as an example." Elizabeth said as she walked over and pressed the simulation room system button again. The system showed the movement of Mariel's group fighting monsters 1 round before the end so that she could memorize every movement precisely.

Elizabeth smiled and conjured up her own healing wand. A golden scepter studded with multi-colored diamonds that is as long as its own height of approximately 170 centimeters is prepared to fight in this simulated battlefield.

"Let's me show you my true abilities." Elizabeth said, taking out a piece of cloth, covering her eyes.

"Miss Elizabeth, will you see the movement while close your eyes like this?" Mania asked in confusion. Elizabeth didn't answer but smiled.

Then the sight of the movement in front of her, it made Mania's heart race like never before. She couldn't believe that something like this could happen in front of her.

Elizabeth moves agilely, avoiding attacks from monsters aimed at her by listening to their sounds. She also heals and increases the magic power of Mariel and Beatrix with precision without a single mistake. This made Mariel's attack style noticeably change for the better. A smile emerged from the cloned Mariel was now enjoying the battle very much. As for cloned Beatrix, she smiled slightly and cast another spell to help cloned Mariel without worrying any from the supporter. It didn't take long for the entire battle to end with Elizabeth's support analysis being perfect for 100 percent. This made Mania even applaud her with admiration.

"Miss Elizabeth is amazing. It is an honor for Mania to see a model of divine support in the healer class like this." Mania said with great praise.

"Prepare yourself. This night will be long because I will train you. I have never taught anyone before but seeing something inside your mind, I must give you some skills so that you can improve to the next level. Let's test it at the basic level first." Elizabeth said with determination as she prepared to teach with Mania before entering the simulation room later.

"Is this good? Humans usually don't teach elves much." Mania said, lowering her head. From the past until now, the Elf race has often been inferior to other races. Most of them have to be memorized or practiced often by themselves. Otherwise, they only had to train together with the elves.

"Who told you I was human?" Elizabeth said with a straight face. Mania, on the other hand, was stunned because she couldn't believe that Elizabeth was telling her the truth.

Elizabeth slowly lifted the hair covering the sides of her face and placed it behind her ears, causing Mania to notice something that no one expected to be true, as Elizabeth had just said a moment ago.

"That's right, I'm an elf just like you, Mania." Elizabeth said, showing her long ears and smiling fondly at the generational elves in front of her.
