Chapter 40 - An Orientation.

Deric, Claudia, and Michelle all dropped off their children in front of the large auditorium that had a capacity of 1,000 or more people. Other parents also dropped off their first-year children all together before returning home.

"Mom and Dad just drop you off here. You can always contact us anytime." Deric said, hugging Mariel tightly.

"Study hard, my dear. Don't be fall in men's eloquent speeches." Claudia emphasized.

"I will study hard, and men will never win my heart, Mom." Mariel promised.

"Miss Beatrix, please take care of yourself. Don't go out of school at all." Michelle said with concern.

"Understood. Please tell Mom that I'm always missing her." Beatrix said.

As for Mania, the caretaker went home first. So, she stood and waited for everyone to say goodbye before walking into the large auditorium together.

Mariel walked into the main auditorium together with her friends and found that it was very large and spacious inside this. A total of 500 first-year students will be at the front of the line, then they will be 2nd year and 3rd year students respectively.

"My lovely Mariel!" A familiar voice sounded from behind the three girls.

"This voice, no way!" Mariel said when she realized that this voice must be that person.

When she turned to look, she found that a large bouquet of flowers was held in front of her surroundings by other students. It made her feel awkward and embarrassed.

"This bouquet of flowers represents the heart of this handsome senior Jack. From today onwards, I will change myself and there will be only my lovely Mariel in all four rooms of my heart." Senior Jack said with sincerity.

"I don't accept this!" Mariel shouted back angrily.

"Ouch!!!" Senior Jack's cry of pain

Mariel grabbed the bouquet and put it in Senior Jack's mouth and threw him far away to hit the auditorium wall with a loud noise.

The henchmen rushed to pull Senior Jack out of the wall and took him back to the group of second year students.

"I feel sorry for you, Mariel." Beatrix said.

"You are really charming." Mania admired with sparkling eyes.

"First day of school life, I won't be happy anymore." Mariel complained in despair.

(What's a bad day. On the first day I was flirted with by a senior student. I will never be soft-hearted, never!) (Chai thinking)

On the other side, Jerrick, the only son of Conrad who was the family that owned this school, stood clenching his fists in anger.

"Senior Jack, you thought about taking my angel Mariel, we'll see." Jerrick said.

*There was a loud noise in the auditorium. *

First, second- and third-year students sat on their chairs. Then, on the podium, there appeared a total of 7 professors, not including Conrad who was standing in the far back corner.

"Good afternoon, all new and returning students to Terios of Wizards School. We are honored to welcome both new and old students back here. I, Hector De Kaiser, the principal of this school, I will give a further lecture on the rules and regulations and introduce the remaining six teachers as follows." Hector announced.

"First of all, Professor Celestial De Riguard, she will teach you all about History of Origins." Hector introduced as the elder woman, Celestial, wore glasses. The white hair stood up and bowed to all the students, then she slowly returned to her chair.

"The second one, Professor Cassandra De Miguel, she will teach you the creating of special potions." Hector introduced, as Cassandra De Miguel was a middle-aged woman who got the long-haired black-haired did the same as the first person before sitting in her chair as before.

"The third one, Professor Kiros De Magician, he will teach everyone the High Wizardry as well." Hector said, as the tall man, Kiros who was almost 2 meters tall, with a sharp, handsome face, wearing small glasses, short silver hair stood and bowed to everyone too.

"The 4th and 5th persons are Professors Sengrif and Negoctius De Malescian. They are twins who will take care of other subjects and provide basic advice in general professions as well. It's about various trade of commercials for people who are interested in this." Hector introduced. The two of them looked very similar, the only difference being their short hairstyles of dark green and light green, making it enough to distinguish which one was which, they bowed before sitting down together.

"And the last person is the Assistant principal. She will take care of everything in the school, checking and controlling the behavior of all students. Her name is Elizabeth De Kaiser." Hector introduces a woman with shoulder-length brown hair, wears glasses, has a pretty face but seems rather strict about regulations. She was very disciplined because she didn't smile at all. She kept looking at every student until no one dared to make eye contact. Then she stumbled upon at Mariel group of students whose sitting in the front row.

Elizabeth's gaze and Mariel's gaze seemed to see through to the other. Mariel stared back fearlessly.

Then Elizabeth stood and said a word in a loud voice:

"Discipline, Strictness, Always Learning all the time. Remember this! thank you." After saying this, Elizabeth bowed and sat on her chair.

"Very good. Now, here are some more rules: Each room has points accumulated from completing various projects, activities, or quests. The professors will give you points as appropriate. Including inappropriate student behavior will also be deducted points too. In the end of each month, which class received the highest score for all three-year classes. The winners will have many special privileges, such as having a dedicated dining room with many snacks." Hector said, which caused a cheer from the group of first-year students.

"In addition, you will receive more special gifts but let me keep this in mind for now. The next point is to strictly not go outside the school arbitrarily, especially during the night. If necessary, you should ask permission from the professor first and then have other students to go out with you. In case something happens, you can contact the professor immediately," Hector reminded.

"Why can't we go outside the school?" Mariel asked Beatrix, who was sitting next to her, curiously.

"Because there have been frequent assaults on students from bandits or dark wizard groups in every city. People also get injured frequently, same as them too." Beatrix explained.

"Oh, I see." Mariel nodded in understanding.

"Next thing is that the school has a hiring system as well. Every student can accept missions ranging from easy to difficult, collect more points for the classroom and earn income as appropriate. As if that weren't enough, everyone can also work part-time in the evenings for extra income to cover your expenses too." Hector further explained.

"Ok! Let's get back to studying. Each day, students will attend class in the morning. In the afternoon after lunch, it will be time for club activities or do various quests on boards in the school. You can practice additional professions and magics as you wish. So, make the most of your time." Hector said.

"Each location in this school has different quests or missions. As far as I know, Male students tend to join exercise clubs, practice swordsmanship and various spells. They also hunt for various materials outside the city too." Beatrix said in detail.

"What about us?" Mariel asked.

"Most of the female students, they practice high magic classes and practice more advanced healing magic which including learning other skills. As for part-time job, men will focus on making weapons and various important raw materials. For women, we will focus on working in school restaurant services or make various notice boards as assigned." Beatrix said.

"It's so boring. I want a more challenging job." Mariel said as she contemplated which club and side job she should choose.

"Mania, what kind of work are you interested in?" Beatrix asked.

"I think I'll work in the library. I want to gain more knowledge and like the quiet there." Mania explained.

"I think I'll be working on various potions workshop or making special materials in the school's magic room. If I had more time, I might work in the school restaurant in the evening too. What about you, Mariel?" Beatrix said, turning to ask Mariel further.

"I'm...still not sure..." Mariel said.

"Each teacher has work to do. Some of them are also accepted as specific students to help with various tasks. You will get both extra points and extra income too." Beatrix said.

"Good, I'll have to try it out." Mariel said and immediately looked hopeful.

"Alright, that's all about this. If you have any questions, you can ask the professors or other officers at various points in this school. I would like to end the meeting with this. Thank you." Hector closed the meeting with loud applause from all the students.

Mariel said hello to the other roommates before going back to their rooms with her friends, then prepared for the first day of school class tomorrow.

"My lovely Mariel!" The same familiar voice came again. Jack's senior group followed Mariel and friends to the front of the girls' dormitory.

"Here we go again." Mariel said and began impatient.

"Before going to the girl's dormitory, why don't you accept some love from this handsome Senior Jack?" Jack said.

"Senior Jack is the best, and sweet talker." all four henchmen said in unison.

Mariel immediately turned around and walked towards Senior Jack with a smile on her face.

"Thank you, but I also have some love that I want to give to you too. My dear Senior Jack." Mariel said, using both hands to lovingly arrange the collar of Jack's shirt.

"What is it?" Senior Jack asked.

"Like this!" Mariel said loudly as she grabbed the collar of his shirt tightly with both hands and used all her strength. Senior Jack's body flew far away until he crashed into a large tree in front of the girls' dormitory.

"Ouch!!!" Senior Jack's body slowly fell from the large tree until he lay motionless on the ground.

Mariel brushed the dust off her hands and stared at Jack's group with serious expression.

"Take him back with you and don't mess with us again. Don't let me remind you again!" Mariel said angrily.

"Understood! Mariel." Four henchmen said as they carried Senior Jack's body and ran back to the men's dormitory.

"You really have a lot of power." Beatrix admired.

"The strongest female student in our class." Mania said with joy.

"Forget it, let's go back to our room and unpack our luggage." Mariel said, leading her friends back up to the room.

They all put their belongings into their closets. Mariel didn't have many clothes so she shared the closets with Mania in half, so they could hang their clothes together. Two study tables were used by Beatrix and Mania. Mariel would use the glass table on the sofa for studying.

Several hours passed until the evening. Their stomachs started growling.

"I'm hungry." Beatrix said, clutching her stomach.

"I'm hungry too." Mania said, doing the same.

"Then let's go to the cafeteria and buy some ingredients for cooking." Mariel told her friends.

"Sure, what do you want to eat this evening?" Beatrix asked curiously.

"Our small celebrating party. I'll make mixed seafood fried rice for you to eat and some appetizers." Mariel said.

"I want to eat them." Mania said with sparkling eyes.

"Do I need to prepare medicine for diarrhea?" Beatrix asked with doubt.

"No, you don't. I'll do my best. Trust me!" Mariel said and picked up the crossbody bag that held her wallet. Then they walked out of the room and went to the cafeteria with happy expressions on their faces.

(My first day of school life will definitely have many good things and many challenges. I hope...) (Chai thinking)
