Chapter 39 - New friend

Mariel walked hand in hand with Beatrix in front of Deric, Claudia and Beatrix's maid after the carriage arrived in front of the girls' dormitory. The dormitory is across from the men's dormitory and has 6 floors. Each room is carefully prepared and cleaned for only 2 people, depending on the pairing of students who come first or come by random drawing from the total lists.

They walked together, with Mariel clearly having a happy expression on her face. Beatrix, on the other hand, remained calm and did not show much joy.

"Look! Mariel looks very happy." Claudia said, smiling at how cute her daughter seemed to be, especially with Beatrix.

"I guess we're going to have another daughter in our house." Deric teased until he laughed with affection.

"May I know your name?" Deric asked Beatrix's maid.

"My name is Michelle. Nice to meet you." Beatrix's maid replied.

"Deric and Claudia. Nice to meet you too." Deric and Claudia greeted each other.

After submitting the documents and confirming that the pairing has been completed, the girl's dormitory administrator was a large woman named Ingrid, wearing a bright red long robe. She immediately walked in, introduced herself to everyone and then showed them the rooms inside the building.

"We have rules that you must follow. First, you are strictly prohibited from leaving the dormitory after midnight, don't make loud noises that disturb others, fights are prohibited in dormitory and don't steal or destroy other people's property. If you need anything, please inform me immediately. Don't do it arbitrarily, do you understand?" Ingrid said, turned around and faced them, then leaned down and stared at them with a serious expression.

"We strictly follow the rules. Miss Ingrid." Mariel and Beatrix said together.

"Very good. Ok, we're here. Your room number is 124." Ingrid said, then everyone stopped in front of the room.

Wink* Ingrid used her palm to touch the door, then it opened as some blue magic radiated from Ingrid's palm.

"Wow! The room is very big!" Mariel said with excitement.

This was a large square room. When they opened the door to go inside the room, it consisted of a large wardrobe that divides space for the clothes of 2 students. There was a large shoe rack next to the room door, the bathroom had a bathtub, shower, sink, and other sanitary ware. It looked very clean and in the right corner of the room was a bunk bed for the two students. Next to the closet was a medium-sized sofa and a small glass table for researching and doing homework from classes. There was also a small kitchen with a refrigerator, kitchenware, dishes, glasses, and various equipment used for cooking. Finally, there was a table with two chairs for studying too. Everything looks very luxurious and nice. The price paid is quite high for this.

Mariel walked inside the room, looking at the equipment, appliances, and other facilities with excitement and happiness. As for Beatrix, she walked around with a composed expression.

"Would you mind if I sleep on the lower bunk, and you sleep the upper bunk of bed." Beatrix turned to Mariel and asked after she touched the bed, looking somewhat satisfied.

"Sure." Mariel replied with a smile on her face.

Then they walked into the small kitchen and opened the cupboard which held the dishes, along with the refrigerator to check whether everything was complete or missing.

"Everything is complete. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at cooking." Beatrix said with a disappointed expression on her face.

"It's okay, I'll cook for you." Mariel said, smiling while holding a knife and a dough kneader in her hands.

"I don't have diarrhea, right?" Beatrix asked suspiciously.

"Trust me!" Mariel replied.

"Please teach me how to cook sometime." Beatrix begged.

"Anything for you." Mariel replied with a smile.

(I really happy to be lived together with a girl I really like. This is enough for me in my school life.) (Chai thinking)

"Is everything ok? My dear. Are you satisfied with the room?" Claudia asked after Mariel and Beatrix came out of the kitchen.

"Very satisfied, Mom." Mariel replied with a happy expression.

"What about you? Miss Beatrix." Michelle asked.

"Everything is Okay. Please tell Mom everything is fine." Beatrix said.

"I will tell her soon." Michelle promised.

All of Mariel and Beatrix's luggage was dropped next to the sofa. Then everyone came out of the room, Mariel and Beatrix didn't forget to carry their bags which had their notebooks and various stationery for writing down details. Ingrid casts a spell on the door to allow Mariel and Beatrix to imprint their palms for handwriting recognition. From now on, this room can be opened by Ingrid, Mariel, and Beatrix only. Others couldn't open it because in this high school of magic, there was a large white stone pillar with a high-level magical defense system. All students will not be able to use magic unless they have permission to do so in special cases, emergencies, or in the competition zone. Dormitories too, the special magical palm scanning system was only for the real dorm owners. Others cannot arbitrarily open it.

As everyone was walking back to the stairs, a loud scream suddenly sounded throughout the first-floor dormitory.

"I won't let you share this room with me! Go to find another room! I'm going to live here alone!" a female student shouted at another person who was trembling in fear.

"What happened?" Ingrid walked ahead of the group and asked.

In front of Mariel, it appeared a tall female student, had her hair long and light brown. There was a golden hair clip with the emblem of a noble family attached to the hair, signifying high status and great honor, standing, and scolding another female student who was smaller than her which looked like a long-eared elf Short golden hair, shoulder length hair, wore large round glasses. There must be a problem with roommates in this room.

"That's Miss Bellany De the Marquis." Beatrix said, slightly startled.

"Who is she?" Mariel asked.

"Don't you know her? Bellani was the only daughter of the northern city's highest noble family, the Marquis Elite Groups, which were very famous in politics and government. They pass on pride, honor, fame, and enormous wealth from generation to generation. No surprise to see Bellany here." Beatrix said.

"But...I just got paired with you, Bellany." said the female elf student.

"No! You must find another room. I'll stay in this room alone. Hey, butler Vidus, please pay 2-3 times the amount to the dormitory and tell them that I will live alone in this room. This is an order!" Bellany said loudly and ordered the family butler to do as she ordered.

"Understood, young lady." Butler Vidus ordered.

"As for you, go find another room and get out of my way!" Bellany pushed the elf girl to the ground, not caring if the other person was hurt or not.

"What happened?" Ingrid asked after the situation started to escalate as more students from other rooms started looking at them.

"Miss Ingrid, the girl's dormitory manager, that's good. You take this elf and find another room for her. I will live alone in this room." Bellany ordered.

"But our dormitory has a roommate matching system, and this elf student takes your name from random lists. At least you all should live together first." Ingrid tried to explain.

"Wait!" Mariel came to this conversation; she couldn't stand it anymore.

"Who are you?" Bellany asked.

"Mariel De Stella!" Mariel introduced herself.

"Bellany De Marquis, daughter of the noble Marquis family. Thank you!" Bellany introduced herself as well.

"They're just roommates, why is she acting like this?" Mariel hurried over to help the young elf female student stand up and look at her body to see if there were any other injuries.

"So what? I don't care. I'm going to live alone. No one can stop me!" Bellany said.

"You are still the same habit, Bellany." Beatrix joined in and spoke.

"Beatrix! We haven't seen each other for a long time. I'm sorry about your father. He shouldn't have done something bad like that." Bellany said with a look of disdain on her face. This made Beatrix increasingly dissatisfied.

"My father didn't do it!" Beatrix shouted back angrily.

"The evidence is that clear. Don't make excuses." Bellany said and made Beatrix angrier.

"Enough! Everyone stops!" Ingrid said loudly, causing everyone to remain calm for a moment.

"I'll have to call the principal and Mr. Conrad to make the decision of this." Ingrid said.

"Anyway, I'll live alone in this room for sure." Bellany continued as she had said.

"Miss Ingrid. Can I talk to you for a moment?" Mariel seemed to think of an idea and spoke.

"Sure." Ingrid accepted.

"Beatrix, please help this elf female student take out her luggage. Let's pile it up around here first." Mariel said, pointing to her friend to put elf female student luggage in a corner of the walkway.

Mariel takes Ingrid out to talk with Deric, Claudia and Michelle whose were waiting at a distance.

"If I asked to take this elf female student to stay in the same room with me and Beatrix, would that be, ok?" Mariel asked.

"And where will you sleep? Mariel. They usually don't allow more than two people to stay together unless it's a special case." Ingrid said curiously.

"I would like to help this female elf. I'll find a solution myself. Um...the sofa in that room. I can sleep there." Mariel offered an idea.

"Are you sure?" Deric asked with concern.

"I'm really sure about this, it won't be too crowded with three students to live together. Besides, I really hit it off this elf female student." Mariel said with confidence.

Ingrid was silent for a moment, as she was thinking about this. Then she made the decision.

"I'll try consulting with the principal and Mr. Conrad again. Now, let's put the luggage in your rooms first." Ingrid said.

"Thank you." Mariel said and then went to tell them again.

"Thank you very much for helping me." The elf female student bowed her head in gratitude.

"What is your name?" Beatrix asked.

"My name is Mania." the elf girl answered.

"Mania. It's a nice name." Mariel said with a smile as they helped her carry her luggage to her room.

As for Bellany, she no longer cared about them. She could only order the butler to immediately carry her many belongings into her room.

When everyone arrived in their room, they helped place Mania's luggage next to Mariel and Beatrix's belongings until it completed.

"You are smaller than me. Let's take it like this. You sleep on the lower bunk of the beds. As for me, I sleep upstairs." Beatrix said to Mania as she showed her the bunk beds in the room.

"I feel very considerate, I'd happy to do as you say." Mania said.

"Don't be considerate. We're friends now." Beatrix said, gently embracing Mania.

"So where does Mariel sleep?" Mania asked curiously.

Beatrix didn't answer but pointed her finger at the empty sofa in front of her with a neutral expression.

"Right there." Mariel replied.

"Are you sure you can sleep on the sofa?" Mania asked for reassurance again.

"If you fall off the sofa, the kitchen is a good place then." Beatrix teased.

"I think so. The kitchen would be more comfortable to sleep in." Mariel answered.

Everyone laughed happily. Then they all left the room and went to the main auditorium to prepare for the lecture on the first day of school.
