In the Morning, the situation in the village returned to normal. A village Chief Kehal ordered that magic protection towers be created in all four directions of the village to warn if any danger were approaching.
Deric is getting better. After getting a specialized doctor from the capital city to treat the spine General medicine which is sometimes still necessary because magic cannot cure everything. Some things can be completely cured by magic, but somethings need the treatment.
As for Segal, he practiced in his spare time while waiting for Kehal's Sword Bureau to continue teaching gain.
After this battle, Mariel's thoughts had greatly changed. She always stayed in her bedroom and read only textbooks about practicing skills and magic to become a great swordsman quickly. Mariel was now a completely different person from the past.
The girl gradually changed her behavior and woke up early in the morning, before Deri was even awake. After making up the bed, took a shower and dressed in casual clothes at home. Then she would come down and help Claudia make breakfast together. Claudia herself is happy that her daughter is paying more attention to housework. So, she taught Mariel about the menu for cooking many delicious dishes with pleasure.
(Actually, thanks to the big battle incident this time because it made me think about the past again. That we ourselves are too self-centered? Think only of yourself. I hope to be an expert in knowledge and history. I want to be a person who is accepted by others in the field of fighting until forgetting the promise that give to the god who created this world. I would like to live a happy life and has a family, then aim to become the greatest female swordsman in the future. When I thought about it, I changed myself and changed all new behaviors. I woke up early and learn how to cook with Claudia and to be able to make food for ourselves in the future which Including cooking food for others to share with each other, like I shared with others in the past world. There is time to talk and exchange ideas, laughter with parents and older brother Segal. After following this idea, it makes life more enjoyable and not too strict. When I have free time, I start practicing again. Let's learn step by step and not have to rush too much because the future still has many things waiting for us) (Chai thinking)
After finishing eating breakfast, Mariel then returns to help Deric and Claudia clean up, feed the animals in the barn like they used to do every day. Segal also came to help. After finishing work in the barn, Segal and Mariel also come to practice swordsmanship one-on-one while Deric watching the entire fight, give an advice and tell each person's vulnerabilities so that they can change their methods and fighting moves for the better results. How they should be strengthened? Which weakness points should be improved so that we will not be ambushed?
Several weeks have passed. Kehal returns to teach the remaining swordsmanship to the 3 twin brothers, including Segal and Mariel. It only takes a few months to complete all courses and then closed the Kehal Sword Bureau permanently because it must be taken too seriously focus on governing and taking care of the people in the village.
The three twin brothers prepared to travel to another city with their families to learn more about the new swordsmanship academy. As for their parents, they found new jobs there. So, they had to move to a different place.
As for Segal, he was preparing to begin training in shield-swordsmanship with the Shalamand Shield Sword Bureau because it is the next target of the person As for Master Kehal himself, he had already sent a letter introducing Segal to the Shalamand Shield-Sword master.
When the day came that we had to say goodbye. Deric had hired a carriage in the village to take Segal to travel to another city where the Shalamand Shield-Sword Bureau was. Deric and Claudia also gave Segal some money to cover lodging and expenses for at least six months. Segal himself is grateful for the generosity that Deric and Claudia have shown, and he intends to find general work in that city so that he will have an income for personal expenses.
They all walked to send Segal onto the horse carriage in front of the house. Segal's baggage was placed in the back of the carriage, which wasn't much. As for Mariel, she gave Segal a scroll of paper. When he opened it up and looked at it, it appeared that it was a drawing of Segal and Mariel together with smiling expressions on their faces. along with beautiful coloring.
"Hang it on the wall, brother. In case you are tired and discouraged, look at this picture." Mariel said with a smile.
"Thank you very much, Mariel. I will come back and visit you guys again, including Father Deric and Mother Claudia as well," Segal said to everyone.
Deric and Claudia hugged Segal and said goodbye. It was like saying goodbye to their son as well.
When Segal stood in front of Mariel, both siblings hugged and said goodbye as well but...it seemed like Mariel was suddenly thinking of something whether to do it or not.
"Segal Brother!" Mariel said.
"Yes? Mariel." Segal replied.
Segal was suddenly a little stunned. Mariel came up and kissed him on the left cheek once, smiled and gave encouragement.
"Become a strong Shield-swordsman quickly. I will become a better swordsman class and wait for my brother as well." Mariel said.
"Okay, then wait for me until that day. We will set out on our adventures together. But first." Segal said and came to hug Mariel and kissed her on the right cheek as well.
"Take it back for making me nervous. Lol, thank you once again for everything." Segal said with a slightly embarrassed blush. Then he got into the carriage and waved goodbye to everyone.
Deric, Claudia, and Mariel also waved their hands goodbye to Segal. The horse carriage slowly moved further and further away until it was out of sight.
"Our daughter is so cute." Deric said.
"They probably love each other like siblings." Claudia also said with a smile too.
"I'm embarrassed!" Mariel blushed and quickly ran up to cover herself under the blanket of her bed.
(The men usually shake hands to greet or hug friends to say goodbye. But why does it feel like something is telling me to kiss Brother Segal's cheek like that? Is this feeling because of the female hormones in my body or not? I don't really know.) (Chai thinking)
That day Mariel stayed in her room all day, but she walked down to eat together with her parents at dinner. Deric and Claudia didn't ask anything because it's just a normal thing for people to show love or concern for each other. They were fine about this.
A few days later, something happened in the barn of De Stella's family, because the female horse gave birth to a male pony with white fur all over its body.
"It's so cute!" Mariel said, admiring the white pony.
A pony also seemed to have a crush on her. It slowly snuggles with Mariel. They ran together and had fun in the barn. Deric and Claudia stood and watched them play around with smiles.
"So, have you thought of a name for this pony yet?" Claudia asked.
"Let's me think." Mariel replied, thinking.
(I slowly thought in my mind, what should this white pony's name be? Like the gods of the previous worlds? Jupiter or Zeus? I am thinking of many names of ancient Greek gods, they all sound good, but one name suddenly came to my mind. It probably seemed appropriate because I had read it in a comic book when I was still at the orphanage. Types of fairy tales in the fantasy genre.) (Chai thinking)
"So, from now on, this pony will be called Unicorn!" Mariel said.
The white male pony heard this name and licked Mariel's face. A pony really liking this name.
"That's a nice name. Come on, this horse's name is Unicorn." Deric agreed with this name and Claudia nodded in agreement as well.
From then on, Mariel always comes to play with Unicorn, give him some grass to eat, clean the fur with a brush until the surface is shiny white and take a shower every week. Sometimes Mariel brings her textbooks and lies down next to Unicorn and reads to it so often. Sometimes they nap together during the day.
Once Unicorn grows enough, Deric teaches Mariel how to put Horse Riding Saddle on Unicorn's back and then rides it. As they slowly walked back and forth, they soon became more familiar and ran around the barn until Deric and Claudia mounted their personal horses together and then rode to the field behind the house.
"Run! Unicorn!" Mariel shouted and picked up her pace. Unicorn responded well, shouted, and accelerated even more until she was further and further ahead of her father and mother.
"Don't go too far, Mariel. Ahead is a cliff, be careful about this." Claudia warned with concern.
"Yes, mom." Mariel responded.
Mariel rode Unicorn until she came to a cliff at the end of the village, looking down and they saw other villages scattered in each area which including beautiful forests and streams cutting through various villages. A group of people meet and talk with smiles. Different types of animals play together and have fun. Vendors who traveled to other villages with many items on the backs of horse carts. Everyone is enjoying the simple life of the countryside.
"I am so happy, Unicorn. It's so good to be born into this world." Mariel said, smiling as she shed tears of happiness.
The Unicorn also knew what Mariel was saying. It let out a voice and nodded its head.
Mariel rubbed her hand on the Unicorn's head until it reached the unicorn's neck.
"From now on, you are my personal horse, Unicorn. In the future, I will take you to travel around the world and fight together." Mariel said.
Mariel then rode Unicorn back to Deric and Claudia who were waiting not too far away. Then they rode into the forest to find various fruit ingredients until they returned to their house.
A few days later, there was a letter sent from another city. Segal sent it to them. Deric opened the letter, it read:
Hello, Father Derik and Mother Claudia. and my sister Mariel.
Now I'm starting to study the Shalamand Bureau's basic sword and shield skills. The Master was very strict, but it made me more determined. Other friends in the bureau were also very friendly. Everyone was determined to become a shield-swordsman Master too. They also had hilarious personalities, and we talked a lot. I lived in a small room near the bureau. The rent price was low, so I bought food and cooked it by myself to save money. I searched for a job and there was an announcement on the village board. They were recruiting a group of boys to help clean the large barn at the end of the village. The payment was good. My life was now smooth and good. If I have a chance, I will go back to visit you guys for sure. I always miss everyone.
With love and miss you
Segal De Childa
"Segal is starting to improve in his shield-sword class, and Mariel is getting ready for basic education in the next few months." Deric turned to his daughter, who sat on the edge of the sofa next to him.
"Are you ready? Mariel." Claudia asked.
"Always be ready, Mom." Mariel replied.
"Good, from now on you will have to prepare to study basic Water Magic sword skills as well. Get ready!" Deric said.
Mariel suddenly became suspicious of something and said:
"By the way, isn't anyone learning Wind Magic? I saw that you did not use this magic."
"Wind magic does less damage than other types of magic, such as fire magic, water magic, and ice magic. Normally, when they fight, they tend to use more damage from those 3 types of magic." Derik explained.
"Some people learned Wind Magic, Mariel. But it is mostly used to support other people, such as blowing the opposing team away, counter the enemies' casting spells or deal medium damage to help the party." Claudia said.
"Ok." Mariel responded.
"In our body, there is a limit to learning various types of magic. Therefore, it is necessary to make the right decision that our ways of learning in types of magic. As a result, wind magic isn't necessary much like others." Deric said.
They talked until late into the night, then they slept in their own bedrooms. Mariel couldn't sleep well so she got out of bed and walked downstairs.
Then she opened the door, went outside, and sat under a big tree. Thinking about the words spoken during the previous evening.
"Wind magic? If I tried practicing, would there be anything more to this? Sometimes people don't care about Wind of Magic, but it can be important for me in the future." Mariel said.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew past, and many leaves flew near Mariel but what was surprising is that the leaves blown around Mariel which looked unusual way.
"It was strange. These leaves...didn't blow away but it was circling around me. Was anyone doing something like this?" Mariel said with doubt.
"Do you want to learn it? Wind magic, I can teach it to you." A mysterious voice sounded around her.
"!!! Who are you?" Marielle stood up and looked around curiously.
Until, suddenly, someone slowly walked out from the large tree where Mariel was sitting just moments ago.
This appears to be a tall female elf; short brown hair and her face is as beautiful as an angel's. She wears a long, pure white robe.
"Oh, You are an elf! This is the first time I've seen this." Mariel was stunned by an elf and saw that her ears were longer than normal humans'. It looks like from reading in the comic book when he was Chai and still was a boy at the orphanage in the past world.
"Yes, it is me, an elf who has protected the forests and large trees in this area for hundreds of years. Please call me Erin." An elf introduced herself.
"Hello, Miss Erin. And my name is Mariel." Mariel said.
"Wind magic may not seem very important but if I were you, I would try to learn and apply it. I believe it will be of great useful in the future." Erin said.
"Please teach me, Erin." Mariel said and didn't deny this opportunity.
"Sure! Mariel." Erin said with a smile.
