Chereads / Mariel: The Goddess of War / Chapter 16 - Erin's Story.

Chapter 16 - Erin's Story.

Erin sat across from Mariel, their hands touched together, and their eyes closed. They concentrated and deep into the darkness.

Mariel, who had her eyes closed, focusing her mind on Erin's body in front of herself, she found that inside Erin's body, there were countless green lines of Qi flowing within her.

Erin knew that Mariel was examining her own profound energy, she smiled and uttered a voice without moving her mouth at all:

"Look inside of me carefully. There were two kinds of power in my body, which were wind magic and healing magic. I was originally a former elf who was skilled in archery and healing hundreds of years ago. I would let you see my past."

Mariel then felt like her soul had been sucked into the space that had appeared in front of Erin. Mariel's body slowly sank until she fell to the ground. It appeared in a city that she had not known before.

Many people walked past each other, and it was crowded. Mariel's soul searched for Elf Erin but couldn't find any, until...

"Hey! Go find someone else's party. We don't need an elf like you." A tall man shouted at an elf woman in front of the others standing nearby.

When Mariel turned to look, she saw that the elf was Erin. She was still beautiful when she was young, but her expression was filled with sadness.

"Our party already has this woman, I'm sorry." A tall man pointed at the other woman. She was a human who was smiling.

Erin kept looking for a party, but almost no one would welcome her. It was probably because she was the elf that she had some restrictions on joining any party.

Erin's soul suddenly appeared next to Mariel and said with sadness,

"Since the past, the Elves had always impaired. They were only good for using magic power to heal, but the human of mages or healers was able to do much better than us. This is a false belief. Our elves were proud of our clan and there was always an effort to develop ourselves which was to be more accepted in human society, but it seemed that this was still not enough."

Suddenly the screen cut to another place. Mariel saw the elf Erin and three friends diligently practicing their skills. The other three friends were all women. It consisted of two Elves and one Human. The woman who was from human clan was a sword-shield warrior. She had long brown hair in a ponytail. From the point, she had quite a bit of her power as well. As for the other two elves, one was a wizard, and the other was a healer. As for Erin, she learned more about archer and wind magic for supporting attack to the party.

The four girls continued to do mid-level quests, slowly gaining fame, and becoming known little by little until recently they were able to accept some high-level quests.

Many times, Erin would buy wind magic textbooks to study further because each skill could help block the enemy's attack or cause loss of attack timing in various critical situations.

After many years, Erin's party had reunited with the tall man's party which she met before and including three other parties, all of whom received the same high-level quests as them.

The high-level quest was to hunt down the rare golden amber in the Death Rock Cave which was in a valley somewhere. If this mission was successful, each party would win a huge prize of gold. They could buy even better weapons and this prize made everyone's eyes widen and they accepted this quest without hesitation.

In total, 5 parties raided a forest of various types of monsters which had Vampire bats, rabid wolves, and evil spirits guard in this large cave. When they all reached the main hall, they found something in front of them. There was a statue of King Orc who lived from ancient times sitting on a large stone throne. In his left hand held a sacred scepter with an emerald, green diamond. In his right hand he held a crown with a large yellow amber diamond attached to it.

One Assassin in the party of leader who was a large man, used her light body technique to float in front of the throne and used her sharp claws to cut out the amber and brought it to her leader to put in a box.

"Alright, get ready and go back. It looks strangely easy, but…" The large man said and looked at the green, emerald diamond with an expression that showed greed in his eyes. The desire that arises in his mind.

"But our mission is just to get the Amber Diamond. Otherwise, don't worry about it. It could be a trap," the female team leader of the party, Aelin, cautioned.

"So what? There aren't any traps. I must get whatever I want. Hey, go get another one. That green emerald I'll sell it later and my party be rich, Lol." The tall man ordered his Assassin again.

No matter how much he warned, he didn't listen to the warning. After an assassin removed the green, emerald diamond from the sacred scepter, an abnormal event immediately occurred.

An earthquake rumbled throughout this large hall until everyone could no longer stand still on the ground. Everyone stumbled and crawled on the stone floor. After that, a nightmare came to them.

Hundreds of demonic orc spirits emerged from the rocky walls which included King Orc who was suddenly move on its own in a rocky state. The eyes shone white, and the staff began to shoot high-level magic at the visitors.

"Didn't I tell you? If you didn't pick it up, we won't be like this. You didn't listen to me!" Aerin said.

"Don't talk too much, okay? Hurry up, defeat them, and then escape or we'll all die together here." The tall man shouted back.

All parties used ice magic, water magic, and fire magic. They shot at the hundreds of Orc spirits that continued to attack them. As for the sword and shield types, they tried to resist and protected people from King Orc's advanced magic, but it seemed like they couldn't fight against the orcs.

Erin tried to use her wind magic to create a windstorm to fend off the orc spirits, but it was only able to be extracted for a short time. Because of these orc spirits, the more they kill them, the more it appeared from the stone cave wall.

"I couldn't take it anymore, hurry up and escape, everyone!" A tall man ordered.

Boom!!!!!

The orc spirits began to slaughter more than 1/3 of the people. Everyone saw this and quickly used the Smoke Scripture to escape, and it was causing smoke to cover the entire area.

Then, everyone remaining immediately rushed towards the exit from this hall, but King Orc used its holy scepter to cast magic. All the smoke immediately disappeared.

Ouch!!! Erin's voice screamed in pain because a magic shot out and hit the storage bag hanging on her side. Many potions were destroyed which Including one teleportation crystal that was shattered, there were only three remaining. There was a serious wound on her left rib.

Many people were injured. The large man's party and two others escaped first. Then something unexpected happened from his action.

"Destructive Shield!" The large man used his remaining strength to slam into the stone entrance from the hall, causing the stone above to collapse, blocking the exit.

"Damn You! Why are you doing this?" Aerin, who was Erin's party leader shout because the exit in front of her was completely closed.

"Goodbye, you guys. You were dead bodies in there, Lol." The tall man laughed with satisfaction before rushing away with the others.

"No!!! Come back!" Aerin shouted.

*Screams* there were cries of pain from the four girls at Erin's party.

All of them were surrounded by the spirits of Orcs and the King Orc who were preparing to exterminate them completely. A Healer elf girl tried to use her mass teleportation skill, but King Orc cast a spell to counter her target spell, causing the healer to be unable to use her skill to escape anymore.

"There were only 3 teleportation sticks left." Everyone looked at the 3 sticks in their hands with fear because one person would not have a chance to return from here alive. These teleport crystals had special powers, able to move a person from one place to another place without being countered by any magic spell.

"Everyone, thank you for joining me on this journey until now. I love you all." Erin hugged everyone tightly. Then she used three teleportation crystals to immediately teleport the other three people in her party back to the capital city.

"No, Erin, don't do that, don't!" Aerin: The party leader cried out in shock before the three of them disappeared in front of her. Only Erin was left standing alone, waiting to accept her fate.

"You die!" King Orc shot a high-level spell through Erin's chest, causing her to die instantly. Her body was torn to shreds by the orc spirits until it was a very frightening scene.

Mariel suddenly woke up from this, and the two of them returned to the front yard under the big tree. Mariel was sweating and feeling quite exhausted. It was probably because going back in time to look at the past might have affected her inner Qi and made the body tired.

When she looked up at Erin, she found that both cheeks of her face were covered with tears of pain and sorrow.

"After that, my soul continued to wander until I met an ancient elf god. A god had many choices for me to decide. What should I do next? Shall I be reborn, or I could stay here but I decided to become a guardian goddess to protect the forest and stayed in this big tree which had been in this village for hundreds of years." Erin said.

"Why did you intend to stay here?" Mariel asked curiously.

"In the past, because this place hundreds of years ago was my own village, before changing with the times to become your village today." Erin explained.

"Oh, I see." Mariel nodded in understanding.

"Alright, let's practice wind magic, Mariel." Erin said, then stood up.

"Yes, Miss Erin." Mariel was very excited to learn wind magic.

All that night, Erin cast a spell to form a ring of ancient glyphs surrounding herself and Mariel. Mariel then slowly trained Erin in wind magic with Intentionally and determinedly.

The Qi in Mariel's body began to form a light green line throughout her body. Then it gradually fused with the other magic lines. With the foundation of healing magic already in place, it made everything seem easier to some extent. There was no longer any need for resistance like in the beginning.

Mariel slowly cast a spell of wind magic, imitating Erin's intent. She had both wind and dispelled magic skills like making enemies fly away and couldn't get close to her for a moment. Sometimes it could make wounds to the enemy if the magic power was strong enough. Wind magic bullets that shoot at dozens of targets at once. This also included casting up 3 waves of magic tornadoes around her and be like a shield to protect herself in times of imminent danger. Wind magic skills blow distant objects into her own hands without wasting too much time picking them up, as well as a variety of other skills which was necessary.

After more than 2 hours, Mariel was tired, so she sat down to rest because she had to get ready to go back to her bed. She won't have the energy to wake up early and do her daily routine like usual. Otherwise, Deric and Claudia might become suspicious and criticized.

"I would come to practice with Erin every night until I finished the wind magic course," Mariel said.

"Sure, Mariel. At least the knowledge I have can be passed on to the new generation like you. So, I'm really happy." Erin said with a smile.

Marielle stood up and prepared to return to the house to rest. She turned around and waved goodbye to Erin again.

"Please wait and watch me, Erin's wind magic. I'm definitely going to use it better." Mariel said, and then returning to the house to sleep in her room.

Erin smiled in response and slowly walked back into the large tree. After that, everything returned to normal.
