"Liam..." When Neveah spoke, her voice was hardly audible above a whisper. She narrowed her eyes as she had her gaze fixed on Liam, whose arm was wrapped tightly around Lily's waist. To put it another way, he openly brought her everywhere now? Then why was he looking at her like that? As if she had committed a grave offence by coming out with another man when he was with her sister?
"What are you doing here with another man?" Lily asked with her eyes wide open in astonishment, as if she had not anticipated seeing Neveah in the café. She smiled innocently as she turned her attention to Nathan and asked, "Who are you? Are you my sister's new boyfriend? However, she's still dating someone, isn't she?" After Lily "mumbled," she covered her lips and began to apologize after she 'realized' what she had just said but she didn't stop.
"Mister, my sister is very fond of jumping from one man to another. Liam finally decided to accept her after she was caught cheating and yet, she still came to meet another man? Mister, I'm trying to warn you so that she wouldn't break your heart, sister, why can't you just stop this and stick with Brother Liam?"
Everywhere went quiet for a minute, what Lily just said was sinking into everyone's head, especially Neveah, she was clearly stunned. She opened and closed her mouth, she was speechless.
"Did you just… did you really…?" Neveah stammered and her speechlessness made people think that she was guilty of what Lily just accused her of.
"Sister, brother Liam is here to take you back to the house, just come with us and I…" Lily turned her gaze towards Nathan and licked her lips, she couldn't hide the pervert look in her eye from Neveah and the latter finally understood. She let out a loud chuckle.
"I'm sick of you, Lily. Why don't you go throw yourself off a ditch someday?" Neveah scoffed, "Put an end to your pretenses of being someone you are not."
"What could you possibly be talking about?" Lily stutteringly said, "I don't know..."
"You see, days ago, I would have easily followed your words hook, line and sinker, I would have fallen right into your trap but now? Lily, you are merely a stupid arrogant girl who thinks too highly of herself."
"What?"
"Let me guess, it was a 'coincidence' that you came in here together?" Neveah asked as she leaned forward, her hands drumming rhythmically on the table.
After pulling his arms from over Lily's shoulders, Liam groaned and stepped forward. "It was just a coincidence that I met her; we just wanted to catch up as friends," he said.
"A coincidence, really?" Neveah scoffed as her brows narrowed even further. "Is that even possible? Do you really think that I will believe that? Friends, do you think I was born yesterday? You walk in here and start accusing me of cheating on Liam when the only two people who cheated were the both of you? Or do you want me to talk about how I caught the both of you in a hotel room tangled up in the sheets?" Neveah stood up, her eyes red.
"How you deceived me for so many years? How you made me work till I dropped and had to go to the hospital?" Since Neveah would never acknowledge that she was still heartbroken, she had no choice but to pretend as if she didn't care about the situation.
"Neveah..." Lily began; she appeared to be reluctant to say whatever it is she wanted to say, she clearly didn't expect Neveah to say what she had just said in front of everyone, her plan had backfired.
As Neveah waited for Lily to talk, she started to fully observe her stepsister, she realized that ever since they were little, Lily had a great understanding of how to manipulate other people to her desires. They were willing to carry out any task that she insisted upon them to carry out; she had a large number of individuals in her grasp.
"Neveah… How could you say this to me? Are you trying to turn everyone against me and remove the blame from yourself?!" Lily started to cry and Neveah's lips twitched. Her plan had failed so she resorted to tears, typical Lily. However, Liam couldn't hold his horses after seeing Lily cry, he started to rave off.
"Before we started dating, you were a slut, I took you in and loved you in the best way that I could and see what you have done to me, and you're even accusing me of sleeping with your sister! When you were younger, you did a lot of abortions, and I wonder if that's the reason why you're unable to give birth. It would be best if you could just come back to me before anyone else makes you feel ashamed of your inability to give birth."
"What? So she was so loose till she couldn't even birth a child anymore?"
"She was able to find someone to love her and yet she didn't appreciate him and went ahead to sleep with another man. Worse, she's even accusing her sister and boyfriend of sleeping with each other. What a foul woman."
Neveah trembled, her entire body shaking, they were turning everyone against her. Everyone was starting to believe them instead, they were the ones who cheated on her, why was she the one bearing the brunt of their actions? Lily had always known how to make her to be the bad guy, in front of their parents, in front of friends; Lily was the reason why she had no friends. Why had she never seen her true face before?
Or maybe she had known, but she chose to ignore it because she wasn't strong enough to resist Lily and even now, look at how the tables have turned. Very soon, people would know her as the woman who was unable to have children, a secret that she wanted to keep for the longest time possible.
"You know, I've never seen two shameless people who have no sense of shame after trying to frame someone for the same actions that you did. I'm very shocked at this, but… Are you absolutely sure of what you're saying? Can you actually prove your words right now?" Nathan crossed his arms as he stared down at them, the both of them and for some reason, Liam gulped.
