I woke up to the sensation of a hard surface against my face, jolting me from my sleep. The car was enveloped in darkness, a stark contrast to when I had closed my eyes for just a moment. I had been sitting upright before I dozed off but now I found myself lying on the car seat with my head resting on Benjamin's lap. Our eyes met and he chuckled before saying, "You're finally awake."
"Why didn't you wake me? I slept for ages," I said, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over me. He chuckled again and I couldn't help but be captivated by the sound of his laughter with the way his face lit up.
"I didn't want to disturb your sleep. You look really tired, so I thought you could use a break. Let's go in," he said as he opened the door and waited for me to join him."
We arrived Benjamin's place, and it looked like I would be staying here. I tried to reassure myself, hoping that I would have my own room. I kept telling myself that this could be a peaceful haven for relaxation.
Stepping out of the car, we walked inside and the maids greeted us with polite bows. It was a gesture I wasn't accustomed to but I knew I had to get used to it. Benjamin led me upstairs and as we walked, I couldn't help but notice that it was the same room where I had woken up yesterday. My mind raced with disbelief. Are we really sharing the same room? I decided not to jump to conclusions just yet as I entered the room with him.
I plopped down on the couch taking in the changes around the room. The white interior remained but I couldn't help but notice that the walk-in closet seemed larger than before. Glancing at the bed, it appeared bigger too but maybe I was just imagining things. I hadn't really had the chance to study the room properly. I blinked, trying to distract myself from those thoughts and noticed Benjamin removing his tie and shirt. It became evident that we were indeed staying together. Only a two-year-old would question if I was supposed to stay here while someone was undressing.
Benjamin paused in his actions, turning to face me directly. His eyes met mine and I could sense his curiosity.
"Why are you still there? Go have a bath first, it's been a long day," he advised, his voice filled with concern. Deep down, I totally get where he's coming from. It's been such an exhausting day, no doubt about it.
I nodded in agreement but a little voice inside me couldn't help but question how I could actually feel comfortable. I whispered to myself, 'Can I really find comfort here?'
"Are you still sitting?" he asked, his gaze fixed on me. His curiosity was evident and I felt the need to explain myself.
"I don't have anything to change into," I admitted, revealing one of the reasons why I hesitated.
I sat there, stunned, as Benjamin gestured towards the closet. "That's the closet? I've expanded it and filled it with clothes that would suit you. I'll be in the study engrossed in work. Don't wait up for me," he declared before departing, leaving me in our shared sanctuary.
My eyes widened in disbelief completely taken aback by the unexpected sight before me. I couldn't believe the level of thoughtfulness that Benjamin had put into this gesture. Gratitude overwhelmed me, but words failed to escape my lips. Was this guy for real?
Driven by curiosity, I couldn't resist the temptation to explore further. I quickly made my way towards the closet, anticipation building with each step. As I entered, my gaze fell upon rows of black suits dominating the space. It seemed that Benjamin had a strong affinity for the color black, or perhaps simplicity was his style.
But then, I turned my attention to the other side of the closet and my heart skipped a beat. There, in all their glory, were an array of dresses, shoes, accessories, and different bags. My eyes fixated on a stunning blue bag, a designer Birkin bag. I couldn't believe my eyes. Sasha had once mentioned the exorbitant price tag attached to such a bag, a price that seemed unimaginable for me. And yet, here I was holding one in my hands. It was a collection of pure luxury.
My hands trembled slightly as I carefully returned the bag to its place. It felt like I was caught in a dream unable to fully grasp the reality of the situation. With a mix of awe and disbelief, I continued my exploration of the closet, searching for a comfortable pair of pajamas. Once I found them, I quickly made my way out and headed towards the bathroom.
Inside the bathroom, I lost track of time as I indulged in a long soothing shower. The warm water cascaded over me, washing away the stress and tension that had built up. It was as if the bathroom itself offered a sanctuary, a place of solace and tranquility. I luxuriated in the moment, allowing the water to cleanse not just my body, but also my soul.
The minutes turned into half an hour, I emerged from the bathroom feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The experience had been more than just a physical cleansing; it had provided a much-needed respite for my weary mind.
I caught sight of Benjamin in his robe, his slightly damp hair adding a touch of allure, I couldn't help but be captivated by his handsome appearance. Lost in my admiration, I discreetly observed him mindful not to disturb his phone call. My gaze wandered from his face to his chest where I was taken aback by the impressive muscular definition. A sense of curiosity led my eyes further downward and I blinked, almost questioning if what I saw was real. He was well endowed down there and It was then that I became acutely aware of my own thoughts as I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me. I chastised myself, feeling like a snoop.
