Benjamin was up earlier than I expected. I'm a light sleeper, so I knew as soon as he got up. It was around six in the morning which honestly felt way too early for someone who runs a huge company. He's always working round the clock. I caught a glimpse of him moving around, probably he was looking for something before he headed to the bathroom for a shower.
I was still really sleepy so I closed my eyes and drifted back to sleep. My work starts at eight and a little extra sleep wouldn't hurt.
I reopened my eyes and realized it was already sunny outside. I glanced at the bedside clock and it read seven thirty. I quickly jumped out of bed and rushed to the bathroom for a speedy shower. I really need to stop falling back asleep like that.
After showering, I wrapped myself in a towel and confidently stepped out thinking I was alone in the room. But to my surprise, there stood Benjamin, fully dressed in his sharp black suit, looking as handsome as ever. It turns out he must have entered the room while I was in the shower and I didn't even hear the door open. Talk about timing!
He gave me this intense lingering look before he bounced out of the room. I couldn't help but wonder what the heck that was all about. I even checked myself to make sure I wasn't exposed or anything, but I was all covered up with the towel. So why did he give me that look? It got me curious.
I let out a sigh and headed to the walk-in closet to find the perfect outfit for the day. My eyes caught a stunning black gown that would really flatter my figure, so I knew it was the one. After getting dressed and adding some accessories, something was still missing. I couldn't stop thinking about that Birkin bag I saw yesterday. It would totally complete my look today! So, I went back into the closet, grabbed the bag and went out.
As I descended the stairs, Benjamin was already waiting for me. Once again, he was engrossed in a phone call and my heart went out to him. It seemed like he was always consumed by business matters. I stood by his side, patiently waiting for him to finish. The moment he ended the call, he turned toward me and uttered, "You look good."
"Thank you so much for the clothes! They fit like a glove," I exclaimed, a wide smile spreading across my face. I couldn't pass up this chance to express my gratitude.
But Benjamin waved off my thanks, a hint of seriousness in his voice. "No need to thank me, you're Mrs Ben now. It's my responsibility to take care of you," he reminded me as he confidently strode ahead. "Come on, we're already running late!"
I followed behind him, feeling a bit startled by his words. He really needed to stop making it seem like we were an actual couple. I couldn't understand why my heart would flutter a little whenever he said something kind. I had to remind myself not to get caught up in this charade.
The ride to the office felt like an eternity. When we finally arrived, I followed Benjamin closely almost feeling like his personal assistant rather than his supposed wife. Observing from behind, I noticed how everyone who passed us greeted him with a bow and the atmosphere was tense. Even I couldn't help but be intimidated by his presence. It was as if he emitted a different aura when he was at work. We made our way to a private elevator, and as usual, he gestured for me to get in. So, I obliged.
I couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable in the confined space with him, catching a whiff of his powerful cologne. Nervously, I began biting my lips and when he noticed, his expression turned stern. I instantly remembered that he had asked me to stop doing that, so I quickly stopped before the elevator chimed and the doors opened. "Finally," I silently whispered to myself, relieved to see him walk ahead.
As we stepped into his office, I quickly grabbed a chair to alleviate the ache in my legs. He glanced at me with a questioning look, as if expecting an explanation. I mustered a smile and replied, "Just a little discomfort in my legs." I didn't want to make it seem like a big deal.
"I could have someone shop for some low heels for you. How does that sound?" He raise an eyebrow, silently waiting for my agreement.
I could only nod as he took his seat at the desk, grabbing a document. His face went back to work mode and honestly, it was hard to tell what he was thinking. But there I sat just staring at that handsome face even though he wasn't smiling at the moment, he still looked amazing. Since he hadn't mentioned work yet, I figured I should embrace the privilege of being his soon-to-be wife.
Lost in the captivating gaze of his handsome face, I was abruptly interrupted by a loud knock. Without waiting for a response, the door swung open and there stood Stephanie—the same rude woman Benjamin had dismissed yesterday. Irritation coursed through me as I turned to face her. From my vantage point, I watched as she scrutinized me from head to toe, just as she had done on our previous encounter and she even let out a disdainful scoff. Anger simmered within me but I knew I had to keep my composure. Stephanie quickly averted her gaze and made her way towards Benjamin's desk.
"Good morning, sir!" she exclaimed with a cheery and sweet tone.
'Damn, so she was one of those girls with two characters, huh?' I thought, feeling a mix of frustration and irritation.
"Didn't you see my fiancée, Stephanie?" Benjamin voice startled me as he raised his head from the file, his tone filled with annoyance.
"How rude of you," he muttered sternly, his words carrying a sense of disapproval.
