Chereads / The Last Rose Left Unturned / Chapter 6 - Garden of roses

Chapter 6 - Garden of roses

Meanwhile, far away in the palace a prince sat together with his longtime childhood best friend and the two were chatting casually.

The two were seated in a large garden of which only the prince had access to. The garden was only filled with red and white roses. It was therefore named, garden of roses.

The prince, Lu Tiangming sat on the soft sofa with his long legs crossed as he elegantly sipped his wine. Every inch of his body screamed of royalty.

Lu Tiangming was the perfect definition of beauty and elegance. He could be said to the most handsome man on the whole earth.

His long black silky hair which went down all the way to his waistline, his sharp and sexy almond shaped blue eyes, small pointed but sharp nose, heart shaped crimson red lips and v-shaped sharp chin all made up his extremely handsome face.

His eyelashes were long and fluttered whenever he blinked his eyes, his eyebrows were vertically shaped, brown and bushy.

Any female and sometimes males, who laid their eyes on him could not help but admire his beauty.

Lu Tiangming was the only and youngest son of the king. Preparation towards his upcoming birthday was being made.

The person who sat opposite Lu Tiangming, also did not lack up in beauty but he still could not be compared with Lu Tiangming.

"Your highness, as I was saying, you should come with me this time. That place is filled with thousands of beautiful women", Gu Xin tried to persuade his friend one more time.

"Do I look like I'm interested in that sort of thing? You don't seem to have interesting to talk about, go have fun without me", Lu Tiangming glared at his friend coldly.

"No, you should come with me just this once. If you're not interested then you can come back immediately", said Gu Xin for the hundredth time.

"You've said that for hundred times and my answer is still going to be no. There's nothing that can change my mind", Lu Tiangming stood up and walked out of the garden.

Gu Xin sighed and slumped back into the sofa, he knew very well why his friend was behaving like that. It was all because of a girl he met four years ago.

Gu Xin sighed and decided to leave but someone grabbed him by the shoulder from behind.

He turned around to see Lu Nixi, the elder sister of Lu Tiangming.

"Your highness...", Gu Xin took a low bow and paid her his respect.

"There's no need to be so formal when we're not in public", Lu Nixi chuckled.

"The law is the law", Gu Xin replied in a stubborn voice.

"Alright, alright. I heard the conversation you had with my younger brother. It hurts me so much that he's so lonely and doesn't go out to have fun. I have a plan and I want you to help me with it", Lu Nixi smiled meaningfully.

Lu Tiangming had headed inside his room and sat on his huge bed.

Lu Tiangming's room really looked odd and boring. His room was only filled with swords, fighting and training tools, books, a few sofa and a huge king sized bed. He had nothing which seemed interesting.

Lu Tiangming was not quite the talkative type, he seemed gentle and kind but actually had a cold and ruthless personality of which he didn't usually show.

Lu Tiangming was the one and only son of the king even though the king had five wives. His mother, Shin Hui was the fifth, youngest and favorite wife of the king.

Lu Tiangming barely stepped out of the palace because the king had restricted him from going out in order to protect him since he was the only heir to the throne.

The king had eight other children yet they were all females.

Lu Tiangming dressed up and decided to go out for hunting with Gu Xin.

The two sat on their horses and went out of the palace followed by numerous palace guards.

"It's been so long since we went out together to hunt", said Gu Xin on their way into the forest.

"How's your mercenary group doing...", Lu Tiangming stopped and smirked.

"You...", Gu Xin sighed speechlessly, he had not told his friend anything about it yet his friend had already found out.

Lu Tiangming hit the horse with a whip and rode off leaving behind his friend who was still in a daze.

Lu Tiangming and Gu Xin passed a village on their way into the forest.

Han Jin was returning home when a horse came out of nowhere and splashed mud water on her.

"Hey!", Han Jin yelled, angrily took a stone and threw it at the person on the horse.

Lu Tiangming was hit on the head by a stone, he didn't make any sound and neither did he stop. He only turned around for a brief moment and his eyes and hers met.

Upon seeing his face, Han Jin was horrified and was on her heels. If she still wanted to live then she had to run as fast as she could.

"Who was that? She really had the guts", said Gu Xin who had not clearly seen her face.

"Your highness, shall we chase after her?", Asked one of the palace guards.

Lu Tiangming shook his head and continued on his way as if nothing had happened.

Han Jin locked herself inside her room while heavily panting for breath.

'Goodness, that was so close. It's not my fault though, so what if he's a prince? He splashed mud on me yet he still didn't apologize. Also... before I died, I clearly remember him being the last person I saw before I died. I wonder what he was doing at my place of hanging though'

After some time, Han Jin peeped through a hole in the door and realized that there was no palace official in their house. She was relieved and finally stepped out.

What met her though was a huge slap on her back, it was from her mother.

"Where are the things I gave to you to sell? Where are they?", Her mother was fuming with anger.

Han Jin had not prepared herself for something like this and didn't know what to say. She had completely forgotten about how she had abandoned the vegetables when she had seen Lin Ming.

"You threw away those vegetables and was chasing after men huh? Is that how I raised you? Unfilial child! Get the hell out of here before I kill you with my own two hands", her mother turned around and took a huge stick.

"Mom!", Han Jin took a step back out of fear and confusion, she had not expected her mother to actually be serious.

"Get out! You're no more my daughter, you're such a big disgrace to the family. How dare you? How dare you? Shameless girl, get out!"

Han Jin knew that her mother seemed really angry and could hit her with the huge piece of wood so she run out of the house.

"Don't ever come back here! Stupid!"

Han Jin stood at the gate of the Han family house and tears flowed down her cheeks.

Why would her mother suddenly accuse her of such things? Someone must have told lies on her. But who?

Han Shaoze? She might hate her but Han Shaoze would never do such a thing.

Han Jingxi...of course. Han Jingxi must have done so in order to exact revenge on her because of what happened today.

"Han Jingxi, I wanted to live a peaceful life and ignore whatever you did to me in my past life but you still continue to provoke me. This isn't going to be the end, I'm going to surely make you pay for everything you did to me. You and him'
