The only prince had been attacked in his chamber by a mysterious person dressed like an assassin.
The prince himself was a good fighter without a competitor in the entire kingdom. It was a surprise to many of the palace guards that the prince had actually been injured.
The king heard about the news and immediately rushed to see his son.
"The King is here to see the prince", announced the guard.
The king pushed aside the curtains and entered his son's chamber.
Lu Tiangming was chewing on an apple and stood up in respect when he saw his father.
Seeing his son act so casually caused the king to frown.
"You should rest and let the wound heal", Lu Shanghai said, his blue eyes calm as they had always been.
Lu Shanghai and Lu Tiangming shared a great resemblance and anyone would be able to tell that the two were father and son with a glance.
The two however did not share a good relationship and argued anytime they were together.
"No need to suddenly show up here in my humble chamber, you should go back to being king and return to your palace", Said Lu Tiangming, his voice filled with sarcasm. He sat back and continued chewing on his apple.
The king lived in the palace with the queen mother and Shin Hui, his fifth wife who was also Lu Tiangming's mother.
"You...", Lu Shanghai wanted to say something but he really didn't know what to say in response to his son.
At this moment, Lu Nixi and Shin Hui rushed in immediately together with a few of the princess's.
Lu Nixi and Lu Tiangming shared different mothers but Lu Nixi truly cared for him.
"I heard you were badly wounded, why aren't you resting then?", Lu Nixi paid her respects to the king before scolding her stubborn younger brother.
Lu Tiangming pretended not to hear her words.
"An Ming, you should rest. Your birthday banquet is coming up in a few days and you shouldn't be in a bad condition by then.", Said Shin Hui.
Hearing his mother's voice caused Lu Tiangming to chuckle.
"I'm leaving", the king announced before turning around and leaving with many palace guards following him.
He had many issues to attend to and didn't want to waste too much time on his son who wasn't going to even listen to him in the end.
"An Ming, aunt is right. You should rest, I heard your injury was quite serious", Shin Hui tried getting closer to her son and held his hand in hers.
"If you really want me to rest then you all should get out of the room and give me some space to breathe", Lu Tiangming's eyes suddenly turned extremely cold.
Everyone could feel the temperature in the room rise.
Lu Nixi sighed, she knew how stubborn Lu Tiangming was and it hurt her seeing him in such a state.
In the end, they all had no choice but to leave his chamber and give him some privacy to rest.
Lu Tiangming held onto the wall, his vision was a bit blurry and he felt a splitting headache.
After a few minutes, he collapsed onto the floor completely unconscious.
Lu Nixi was still worried about her brother so she prepared some herbal medicine for him since she was very good with medicine.
She returned to his chamber with two servants following behind her and holding the medicine she had prepared.
Lu Nixi rushed to her brother's side when she realized he was on the cold floor and unconscious.
"Tiangming!", Lu Nixi felt her heart beating so fast as she watched the palace guards lift him onto his bed.
"Get the palace physician, get him here as soon as possible. You two, prepare a hot bowl of water and bring it here with a towel", ordered Lu Nixi.
She then touched his forehead and realized he was burning hot, he seemed to be running a fever.
After the hot water was brought, Lu Nixi started to perform first aid by treating his fever with the hot water.
The physician also arrived in a few minutes and took a look at the wound which was on Lu Tiangming's shoulder.
After sewing the wound, he applied some medicine before finally leaving.
...
Han Jin opened her eyes and saw a figure standing above her, it was Shan Tian.
Han Jin tried sitting up when a towel fell onto her chest.
"What...cough... what happened?", Han Jin asked, her voice was hoarse and sounded weak.
Han Jin only remembered her vision going blank all of a sudden.
"You've been unconscious for almost a day now", Shan Tian replied and placed her hand over Han Jin's forehead, she was checking her temperature.
Shan Tian however frowned, Han Jin had badly been running a fever just a few minutes ago yet her temperature was miraculously back to normal.
"Was it because of the medicine you gave me?", Han Jin removed the blanket over her body, her eyes however widened when she realized she was in a new set of clothes.
"Don't worry, I changed your clothes myself.", Shan Tian chuckled upon seeing the girl's expression.
"Oh... okay. You've not answered my question, did I lose consciousness because of the medicine you gave me?", Han Jin asked once more, her voice sounded a bit colder this time.
"No. You were suddenly running a fever. Since you're fine right now then I'm leaving", Shan Tian took the bowl of hot water and approached the door.
"Why do you take so much care for me when you actually intend to sell me?", Han Jin stood up and rushed towards the woman. She was really curious as to why the woman treated her a bit nicely.
Shan Tian felt her fingers tremble when she heard Han Jin's question.
She however ignored her and walked out of the chamber locking it from behind.
Han Jin leaned against the wall and sighed, it had been a while since she last saw the sunlight.
