Han Jin followed behind him and made sure she kept enough distance so that he didn't realize her presence.
Lin Ming chuckled, he knew someone was following him and he knew exactly who it was. He just decided to play along and see exactly what she was up to.
Han Jin froze in her footsteps when she reached the corner only to see Lin Ming suddenly stop and turn around to face her.
"You...", Han Jin wanted to say something but her lips were trembling. She couldn't say anything because she couldn't believe that the person who was supposed to be dead was actually standing right in front of her alive.
Before she died, he had died too. He had died a few weeks before she died. And he...he was the reason why she died as well.
"What? You're stalking me now? Are you that shameless? Exactly what are you planning this time?", Lin Ming chuckled then snorted. This girl had been so wicked and abandoned their family, what was she up to now?
"No...I...I wanted... wanted to visit Aunt", Han Jin forced herself to utter a few words though it was very difficult for her to speak. She was trying her best to hold back her tears which were threatening to fall anytime soon.
"Visit? Aunt? Don't you dare call my mother your Aunt, you have already said that you have no relationship with my family. You cut ties with my family two years ago, have you forgotten?", Lin Ming sounded furious and was blushing from extreme anger.
"Brother Ming...", Han Jin couldn't stand him being in such a state towards her or even because of her. He was the kind of person who had always been there for her since childhood until that faithful day when she had betrayed their whole family and caused them to be like this.
She had done that foolish thing because she had foolishly trusted someone she shouldn't have. With the way things were going, she was now certain that she was no more dead but was back to the past.
She was sure that everything that had happened before she died was never a dream but something which had actually happened.
It was now time for her to mend all her mistakes, she had to change her dead end future into a bright one from this very moment.
She was going to make use of each and every second of her second chance at life to right all her wrongs in this life and live her life to the fullest.
"Don't call me that", said Lin Ming, he had turned his face away this time. He couldn't bear to look into those innocent and beautiful almond shaped eyes of hers and speak to her in such a manner.
"I'm sorry, I'm very sorry. I regret what I did that day. I'll do anything for you to forgive me", Han Jin fell onto her knees as tears flowed down her cheeks.
Upon hearing her words, Lin Ming's heart missed a beat. He almost couldn't believe that she had said such words. At the mention of "anything" his selfish needs begun to rise up into his head.
"Anything, you said. What if I were to tell you to die for me?", Lin Ming lifted his head a bit and stared at her from the corner of his eyes.
At the mention of her dying for him, Han Jin trembled and remembered everything she had gone through just because of him. She wanted to tell him that she already died for him in her past life but it was not something she could say. He was only going to think she had gone crazy.
Lin Ming chuckled when he realized that she didn't say anything in reply to his words, he opened his mouth to speak but Han Jin spoke before he could.
"Dying for you, it's something I could do a thousand more times if it's going to be the reason you forgive me. For all the things I've done to you and to your family, I actually deserve to die", Tears streamed down her cheeks as she spoke.
Lin Ming could feel the honesty in her words but he felt like it was still going to be difficult to forgive her.
"Follow me", he finally said after a few seconds of silence. He turned around but this time he walked with a slow pace making sure that Han Jin would be able to catch up with him.
Han Jin had not expected him to easily have a change of mind but she was glad he had.
After a while, the two stopped in front of a building made of blocks.
'They live here?'
Han Jin was astonished and impressed as well. Back then, when they had been kicked from their house, she had never followed them to see their new place of residence. It was out of shame and regret that she never did so.
Lin Ming pushed open the door and signalled at her to follow him.
Han Jin stood at the doorstep but she couldn't bring herself to lift her foot and enter.
"What are you still standing there for? Are you coming in or not...", Lin Ming said out of impatience.
Han Jin sighed and then lifted her right foot and took a step into the house of the people who had treated her like family once upon a time.
