His hand was like fire, with these devilish cravings searing every inch of my body. Everything he touches erupts like an uncontrollably erupted volcano. I long for the evenings when he would make love to me because of his breath, which enchants me.
If he had been disdainful of one, it would have made me the happiest.
The director laughed and spoke in a high-pitched voice, "Then...cut!" He walked up and gave each of us a shoulder pat.
"Why hadn't I noticed it earlier? It appears that a new relationship has been created on screen. It's a good thing I mentioned it before you two started kissing." I noticed perspiration appearing on the director's forehead as his laugh faltered.
"Don't worry, Sir Kouichi. Raven would be happy to watch me kiss Lucas because we are friends and because his fiance is also Raven's childhood friend, and he already has Sophia." The director sighed deeply before laughing again.
His voice sounded happier than it had the previous time.
Lucas and I laughed so hard that we were rolling out of the studio at the end of the day. Even the director, who thought that we should be a real-life couple instead of our fiances, felt inquisitive and conflicted as we read the script and even practised for other scenes. Our connection managed to captivate the staff and other teams.
Sophia would sue this director again if she found out, so it's a good thing we just laughed it off as a joke. Although I don't know much about her, Raven told me she had a hidden bad attitude. She prefers to manoeuvre stealthily so that the other player is unaware that they have already lost the game.
She similarly treated me five years ago.
"I guess we still have a month to rest because the filming will start next month." In keeping with his customary tone, Lucas stated:. He seems to be only restating some facts.
We stopped walking, and I turned to look at him. I gazed at his eyes, which represented a person who had been shattered like a glass nearly five years ago, while he was staring at the cherry blossom in front of us as it rained the same sort of pink petals.
"Lucas, I have a question for you." I enquired. At last, he gave me a look. The corners of his mouth have begun to furrow now.
With a high-pitched voice, he answered, "Of course you can, Scarlett," opening his palms to catch the falling leaves from the cherry blossoms. I was reminded of how he used to constantly display the petals and place them atop my head by the way he grinned when he caught one.
"If you desired something that wasn't really yours, how would you respond?"
His eyebrows furrowed as he asked, "What do you mean?"
I laughed.
"In other words, how would I respond if I desired something that wasn't mine?"
"Are you that interested in that thing?"
"Yes, technically speaking, since it would be most beneficial to me."
"Then you need to focus and purchase that from the owner."
"But what if the owner is wealthy and doesn't want to sell it?"
"Then give them a reason to sell it to you; after all, persuasion has the greatest power in the world." He held another flower in his hand and grinned.
"Even if you really wanted it, is there any reason why you shouldn't claim it?"
He turned to face me and grinned, saying, "Perhaps there's another reason."
"So, what is it?"
"I suppose it's enough to let go of it if the other person was hurt." I saw the future I wanted to create with this man five years ago—a future I don't want to let go of—when he smiled gently and the golden mists of the sun appeared. However, everything is now coloured in black and white.
"Well, I suppose it depends."
"Scarlett, maybe you're right—we can't just guess what the future holds." He laughed, and his hands immediately warmed mine once he finished speaking.
I was taken back to a time and place where we only lived in those glorious days when I heard those little giggles.
"So, how about we get together once more in a month?" With a brilliant smile, he continued, "In addition, I want you to handle this and get back to me once our first day of shooting starts.
Observing my hands, I noticed a bracelet made of flowers.
I said, "When did you do this?" He laughed, but he never responded. Raven took the time to come get me until the end of the day. He spoke softly to Lucas, and they both chuckled. I watched as Lucas's hands clenched into fists after a short while. I was curious to find out what they discussed, but it appeared as though Raven stepped aside, leaving Lucas staring in our direction.
Within an instant, Lucas was grinning and raising his hands in greeting. Have I had a hallucination? Ever since Raven grabbed my wrist and shoved me in the direction of the car, I've been wondering.
I gave him a fierce look, but he continued as before, looking ahead before launching the engine. I unbuckled my seatbelt and went to unlock the door when we arrived at my house, only to discover that it was locked.
"I'm not going to play games with you tonight, Raven. Look, please just open the goddamn door."
"Scarlett, you can't ruin everything with that movie."
"What are you discussing? I'm tired of everything."
Once more, before I could finish speaking, he grabbed my wrist and forced me to turn to face the dark aura that was emanating from him.
"Scarlett, remember what I said—don't get too attached to the past because falling in love with him again will ruin everything."
I sighed.
"Don't worry, Raven. To be honest, is that all your problem for tonight? There's no point in taking back the trash that I threw away five years ago, for Pete's sake." I inquired, having to see my eyes narrowed in the mirror, but at that moment, all that mattered was maintaining my sanity because, given the circumstances of the day, I could as well have screamed like a crazy, insane woman.
He took a few moments to glance at me before he let out a sigh.
When he unlocked the car doors and said, "Nothing, you can go now," Anne went to check on me and gave me directions inside. Even though I knew I was exhausted from everything, Raven's car had already vanished from view when I last checked.
"It never happened."
"Madam, are you saying something?"
"Alright, Anne, let's just get some sleep tonight and talk about my schedule for tomorrow."
"Yes, as you wish, madam."
I fell into a deep sleep as soon as I felt the softest cotton I could lay my hands on. From that raging field five years prior, carrying the shadow of the young man I hardly know these days.
***
"Anne, do you believe it would restore this to its original appearance?" I inquired with Anne.
"That's right, Madame. Do you think I should bring a little silver tray?"
"Well, I suppose this will do for the time being. Tell me then what my plans are for today." I stated. As I kept examining the floral bracelet, I saw that it glowed in direct sunlight. The warm and chilly breeze hit my skin as I reached for the stool by the window and leaned in even farther, grinning.
It raked through my hair long enough for me to notice Anne's anxious tone of voice.
I laughed.
"Madam, please, you can lean, but not in that way. If something were to happen to you, and I would" I laughed again.
"Don't worry, Anne—all that will happen to me is that a bird will eventually have to free its wings."
"Madam?" I followed Anne's instructions after realising that she could be perplexed, but all I did was sit in the chair and enjoy my morning coffee.
"So, Anne, what's the assignment for today?" I asked, a small smile spreading across my face.
I had been gone from my house for a few hours now, and I was staring at this massive office of the one I had gone to early in the morning.
I addressed his secretary, "Sigald, tell your master to say hi to me after his meeting," as I was familiar with that expression. When he almost rolled his eyes at me for not raising an eyebrow, I laughed.
He said, "Yes, Ma'am Scarlett," and walked out of the office. I noticed my reflection in the coffee he had made. I let out a sigh, realising that I would have to first meet this man before I could begin my meeting with the corporation.
He arrived at the location and shot me a sidelong glance in a matter of hours.
"I'm warning you, Scarlett, don't ever command my secretary like that." He muttered, undoing his necktie and eventually making a lumpy sound from his seat as he let out his weariness.
I grinned and turned to face him. It was enough to sag down on his lap and put my hands around his neck, but before I could do so, I had an idea.
"Well, just so you know, I have to meet with that Sir later on in the Velmont, you know Frenchester, right? If it weren't for the bossy CEO." As I kept laughing, I noticed his eyes getting wider, but before I could get up, I heard the door open and heard a gasp.
When I glanced at Raven's desk's side mirror, I noticed a shocked-looking woman. It was none other than Sophia Deim, a close childhood friend. Raven's brows narrowed, but they enlarged when he looked at Sophia, so I forced her to see what I wanted her to.
A situation in which he abducted my five-year-old fiancée.
"Listen up and do as I say, or I won't be able to forgive you tonight."
"What plans do you have?"
Then something just happened—I heard a snapping sound, but I didn't care. Instead, I was drawn to the young man's soft, pleasant lips and wanted to taste even more, so I cuddled up to him and tasted every inch of his mouth with my tongue.
That's how we were until I heard someone pretend to cough.
My knees were in the way of Raven's body as he pushed me to sit on his desk, possibly broken by his reverie. He just gave me a frown when I saw him lean in towards me while clutching the sides of his desk with both hands.
"Scarlett, never do that without my permission again." I blinked, and he was gone, just like that, but...
"Miss Sophia arrived earlier, sir, but she hurried out and left crying."
"How did she get here, Sigald?"
"To that." I didn't even bother to listen when they spoke. I stepped outside right away before he left, winking at him and demonstrating how I suck my fingers and clean the rims of my lips.
"That wouldn't just be the case the next time, Raven; it's just getting started."
