Chapter 24 - Truama

As if the world halted for seconds, Kendrick was dumbstruck by the words she just uttered.

Myra was married?

When

How

Where

How

They just had a fight and didn't speak for two weeks and now she was married…to Ze'ev?. Even dumbstruck was an understatement. He didn't know what to feel. Perhaps he was dreaming.

He never imagined it. The girl he loved so much was already married and he didn't even know a single thing about it. She didn't even care to tell him about anything.

What happened?!

He would have thought about how she had hurt him a lot but his eyes drifted to her injured feet.

Shit

"Why aren't you wearing anything on your feet, does that bastard not take care of you at all…Is that why you ran away?" He probed for an answer.

"Huh? What! No, no I ran on my own will…why am I even explaining this!" She seemed confused. In one swift move he carried her into his arms *bridal style*. She got moved by his sudden actions and wanted to protest but he started jumping and leaping. She screamed a lot at first but when she felt secured that he wasn't going to throw her off and let her die she calmed a little.

She really couldn't believe her eyes. Was he another creature that could fly? What was this weird world for goodness' sake.

Still leaping in the air in his arms in an uncomfortable and suffocating silence which only the sound of the cool breeze could be heard and not knowing where she was going or where he was taking her, she cleared her throat…he sensed the tension around them and broke the silence.

"What is it my lo-" right…she was married. She was no longer his.

"What were those creatures you fought with back there?"

"What do you mean…those were wolves obviously" his voice was toneless with a stern face as he kept his focus on his leaping. She almost glared at him but just decided not to be rude because he might end up dropping her from high above and she might smash her end on a skull ending up in the hell that she had just planned to escape from not long ago.

"Those weren't normal wolves…" she argued in a polite tone.

"What are you saying?" He didn't even bat an eye at her, not even once. He was hurt and staring at her would make him feel more hurt. Like a dagger had been lodged deep within his chest and he was feeling the pain but wasn't dying. It just hurt badly.

"They were humans at first, then they went through this nasty process and turned into wolves. I might sound a lil crazy but I think they were werewolves" his chuckle made her furrow her brows a bit. Was it funny

"You might be really crazy…werewolves are extinct, they don't exist anymore. We vampires wiped their entire race a long time ago" he was a vampire! Vampires can fly? Well he wasn't really flying but she would admit it was a good way of transporting. And she knew what she saw, she wasn't going crazy when she saw those human change. It was a very nasty thing to watch. She knew what she saw, she wasn't mad.

"Where are you taking me, since you're a vampire you might want to kill me for your dinner right?"she accused. A laugh escapes his lips and she didn't like it

"You really don't remember anything? I thought you were just mad at me at first but you really don't remember anything do you?" His time become softer.

"You didn't answer my question! Take me back to Ze'ev , as princess Myra of Oland I command it" he blindly ignored her. He couldn't let her go home like this, they would suspect him for causing those bruises on her. They would say he was breaking the modern vampire rule and kill him right on the spot.

He was doing it for both of them. He would take her back tomorrow with her cleaned and taken care of, plus he didn't like seeing her like this. Even what she was wearing wasn't appropriate for the weather, why was she wearing a shirt that barely covered her legs!

They got to where she thought was their destination, the house looked so modern, it had glass walls and the painting was white, the structure was pretty complicated, it had glass railings and there was grass everywhere outside the building.

Was this where he lived?

She wasn't curious anyways. Just when she thought he was gonna put her down because obviously she could walk on her own, he carried her in. She struggled in his arms since they weren't up in the sky anymore but he was stronger.

He settled her down on a huge sofa in a massive living room.

"Stay here "he spoke before dashing upstairs and She obeyed. The old her would have found a way to escape but being in this weird realm she couldn't…not like she knew anywhere she was tee to run to, plus her feet were badly hurt, she wondered why myra's feet were so easily damaged.

He came back with a first aid kit and a towel with a bowl of water, the towel was around his neck, the kit in his right arm and the bowl in his left hand.

He set the bowl on the marble floor and soaked the towel in it. He raised her right foot and wiped it clean before moving on to the next one.

"Can I ask you a question?" He nodded as a reply avoiding her eyes.

"Why are you helping me?" She was curious on why he was nursing her feet. Why did he even bring her to his place in the first place. Seemed like he and Myra were really close.

"…because I can't take you back there looking like this" he replied, his voice sounded like a whisper…she nodded at him but her brows furrowed again

"Wh-"

"You must be tired, you almost got eaten by wolves…that must be traumatic for you. You should rest. I will take you to…him tomorrow. Let me take you to your room" he did not want to create a conversation with her. He knew he would end up making a mistake. Presley just stared at him emotionlessly.

Trauma?

For that?

He must be kidding, she had gone through way worse things …Esmira better not show up again because she was afraid she would tear the angel into pieces. How dare she do her like that… for her guardian angel that was way to cruel.
