Chapter 9 - I think I killed someone

Willy sat calmly in his air car chewing a gum, he had been in the academy park waiting for Emily for more than two hours and he had to turn on his car camouflage machanism so the academy guards won't spot him. with its matte black exterior, now seemed to camouflage itself perfectly amongst the parked teachers vehicles without drawing any attention. It was an older model, possessing a simple design that didn't stand out amidst the more extravagant vehicles in the school car park.

Observing the time on his comm, willy noted that it was 8:45 pm. The dimly lit surroundings of the car park created an eerie atmosphere. Suddenly, his attention was caught by a figure gently maneuvering through the antigrav air park platform adjacent to him. Even in the dim light, Willy recognized the hoodie she was wearing; it was the one he had left in his locker. This confirmed to him that she must have known the password.

His concern grew as he noticed Emily clenching her stomach, causing a knot to form in his own. Without wasting any time, Willy swiftly booted the car's interface, starting the engine, and maneuvered the vehicle towards her. It glided elegantly, silently, and soon came to a halt in front of her.

Instinctively knowing not to pry, Willy remained composed as he watched her quickly open the door and enter. As she settled into the seat, her blood-stained uniform caught his attention, causing his worry to escalate further. Conscious of her plea for no questions, he respected her request but couldn't hide his concern.

Willy glanced at her and spoke softly, "I won't ask any questions, but I want you to know that I'm here for you. You can count on me, no matter what." He offered a supportive smile, hoping it would provide some comfort in this distressing moment.

Emily noticed Willy wasn't driving towards the exit and heading towards the Academy's Edith portal.

She became startled. " What are you doing?."

Willy calmly replied, "I'm taking you to a hospital in Cyron, my mom used to work there." But before Emily could reason with him further, the air car swiftly zipped into the shimmering blue portal.

Inside the portal, as the car transitioned into the high dimensions, a remarkable and highly advanced protective field mechanism came into play. This mechanism, specifically designed for interdimensional travel, enveloped the car, shielding it from any potential hazards or disturbances that may arise during the journey.

The voice of the air car's AI buzzed. " Destination Planet Cyron. "

The protective field was created using cutting-edge Alien technology, harnessing the power of advanced force fields and energy manipulation. It formed an impermeable barrier around the car, fending off the effects of the unfathomable forces present in the high dimensions.

As the ship raced on, propelled by the forces of higher dimension, a low, guttural growl echoed through the compact cockpit. The sound, eerie and menacing, reached the ears of Willy, the only one who could hear it in this disorienting realm.

Curiosity mixed with trepidation, causing Willy to swivel his head, his gaze locked onto his best friend. But what he saw sent a wave of icy fear surging through his veins. Emily, who minutes ago had been her usual self, now possessed eyes glowing an unnerving shade of crimson. The once-familiar warmth of her presence had been replaced by an unsettling aura of malevolence.

Before Willy could fully react, Emily lunged at him, springing across the confined space within the cockpit. Her movements seemed to defy the laws of gravity, her body contorting with unearthly agility. Like a predatory creature, she pounced atop him with terrifying precision.

As her ominous teeth sank deep into his neck, a whirlwind of thoughts raced through Willy's mind. Was this a hallucination born from the unfathomable dimensions through which they were hurtling? Or was there something more sinister at play, lurking within the depths of this higher realm? The answers remained distant, obscured by the disorienting chaos surrounding them.

AS the sun dipped beneath the horizon, casting a warm glow across the cozy kitchen, a vibrant and spirited female teenager stood before the stove, eagerly preparing a delicious dinner for herself. Her favorite song played softly in the background, setting the stage for a harmonious evening ahead.

Humming along to the catchy tunes, she gracefully moved around the kitchen, whisking ingredients together and adding a dash of sizzle to the sizzling pan. The tantalizing aroma of garlic and herbs filled the air, adding to the excitement and anticipation of the meal she was about to savor.

With a twinkle in her eye and a heartfelt passion in her voice, she spontaneously burst into song. The lyrics flowed effortlessly from her lips, painting a picture of her dreams and aspirations:

(Verse 1)

In this world, I'll find my way,

With every note my heart will play.

No matter what the world may bring,

In my heart, I'll always sing.

(Chorus)

I'm unbreakable, unstoppable, an endless symphony,

The melody within me, soaring wild and free.

Through the highs and lows, I'll let this song unfold,

Guided by the rhythm of a story yet untold.

(Verse 2)

With every rise, I'll spread my wings,

Embrace the joy that life brings.

No fear, no limit to hold me down,

I'll chase my dreams 'til they can't be found.

(Chorus)

I'm unbreakable, unstoppable, an endless symphony,

The melody within me, soaring wild and free.

Through the highs and lows, I'll let this song unfold,

Guided by the rhythm of a story yet untold.

As the final notes of the chorus resonated through the kitchen, an unexpected interruption occurred. The sound of the door buzzer startled the teenager momentarily, causing her to pause mid-song. Curious, yet undeterred, she swiftly turned off the stove, placing her carefully prepared dish onto the table in anticipation of her elder sister's arrival.

With a warm smile and a wave, she tried to greet her sister, but her attempts were met with indifference. Her elder sister, sporting a brand-new hoodie, walked past her without uttering a single word, heading straight to her room. The teenager's heart sank momentarily, left in a state of confusion.

Determined not to let her sister's cold reception affect her harmony, she resumed her melody:

(Bridge)

Though the winds might change, carrying me away,

I'll find solace in this song, each and every day.

For every silent woe, a note to set me free,

This unbreakable melody reveals the real me.

As she poured her emotions into her singing, the mechanical click of her sister locking the door resonated within her heart. A realization dawned upon her and she turned off the music and approached the door.

" Emily are you okay?."

As Emily walked through the bustling street, the moon bathes the street. she was wrapped in a thick, dark hoodie that concealed the majority of her features. The fabric felt soft against her skin, providing a shield from the cool evening air. The sound of the busy street filled her ears, each conversation and passing footstep reaching her senses with an almost amplified clarity.

As she made her way through the crowd, she noticed that everything around her seemed to be bathed in shades of red. The vibrant hue pervaded her vision, casting an ethereal glow over her surroundings. The people passing by appeared as captivating silhouettes, their features obscured but their essence emanating a peculiar allure.

Humans seemed almost like walking meals, with their pulsating life force visible to her keen eyes.

Suddenly, a tantalizing aroma wafted through the air, captivating her senses. The unmistakable scent of grilled pork permeated the street, drawing her closer. She followed her nose, navigating through the throngs of people until her eyes settled upon an old man manning a grill. Thick plumes of smoke swirled around him as he expertly tended to the sizzling meat.

However, just as she was about to approach the old man, her attention was diverted by his granddaughter. The young girl, no more than ten years old, bounded towards him with unrestrained glee.

As the granddaughter reached the old man, he dropped his grilling tools and swept her up in a warm bear hug. The pure, genuine affection between the two was palpable, a heartwarming scene amidst the bustling street. But then, to the man's surprise, the young girl's face transformed into one of trepidation.

"A demon is watching us," the granddaughter whispered to her grandfather, her young voice brimming with a mix of fear and disbelief. The old man turned around, his eyes searching the crowd, yet failing to detect anyone out of the ordinary. Confusion danced across his face as he tried to comprehend the source of his granddaughter's fears.

In a flash of speed that would put a cheetah to shame, Emily sprinted down the bustling city street. Her movements were so swift, it was as if she defied the laws of motion, her form blurring into a streak of motion. With nimble agility, she maneuvered through the maze of buildings until she reached an unassuming alley.

As she dashed into the narrow pathway, her momentum seemingly carried her forward, threatening to transform her into a mere blur. Wisps of hair flew behind her, flailing in the wind as her rapid footsteps echoed against the surrounding walls. It was as if she possessed an otherworldly grace, moving effortlessly through the urban jungle.

Without missing a beat, Emily pressed on, her eyes fixed on her destination – the woods beyond. Her determination was evident, her purpose unyielding as she strove to reach her goal. The sight of nature's embrace, the peaceful sanctuary of the woods, beckoned her onward.

With every stride she took, the lady left astonished onlookers in her wake, mouths agape at her astonishing display of velocity. They could scarcely comprehend how a human being could possess such incredible speed and agility.

Soon enough, she burst forth from the alley, her rapid pace not wavering in the slightest. Her eyes widened as she caught sight of her destination: a clearing in the woods where four burly men stood, engulfed in the aromas of roasted meat. The scent wafted towards her, teasing her senses and urging her onward.

Noticing her sudden appearance, the men paused their activities, their eyes following her as she approached. Their faces wore expressions of surprise mixed with skepticism. Standing in front of them, her breath barely labored despite her extraordinary sprint, and her eyes glowing red.

Caught off guard by her audacity, the men exchanged glances before one of them gruffly responded." Just leave kid.. you don't want to get hurt."

But Emily remained unfazed, wisps of a smile playing at her lips, and her elongated teeth dripping saliva. Her posture conveyed an air of both determination and charm, daring the men to refuse her demand.

The first man, a burly figure with a massive white beard, swung his heavy axe down with brute strength, his aim set on splitting Emily in half. As he shouted, "Be gone, you demon!"

However, Emily exhibited remarkable agility and swiftly darted to the side, evading the lethal blow of the first man's axe. With a sinister grin on her pale face, she retaliated with lightning speed.

She lunged forward, her elongated claws gleaming in the dim light. Her sharp nails raked across the first man's chest, ripping through layers of cloth and leaving deep, bloody gashes on his skin.

Roaring in pain, the first man stumbled backward, clutching his bleeding chest. His two companions, witnessing the unexpected strength and ferocity of the human circled around her cautiously.

The bald headed man who had been observing quietly from a distance, could no longer contain himself. Standing up, his presence commanded attention. He retrieved a massive battle-axe from a nearby stomp, its weight seemingly inconsequential in his hands.

His voice resonating with unwavering confidence. "Today is your last, demon," he declared

He seized his axe, its weight resting comfortably in his calloused hands. His eyes narrowed.

Summoning all his strength, the man swung his axe with a thunderous force, releasing it into the air. The weapon spun through the air with an almost majestic grace before finding its target, striking Emily in the chest. The impact was so powerful that she was instantly pinned against a sturdy tree trunk, her writhing limbs rendered immobile.

The figure walked gracefully, as the figure reached close enough and yanked the axe free, causing her to collapse to the ground, weak and defenseless.
